This is a key leadership role in this vibrant, user-led charity based in Richmond and Wandsworth. You will be providing leadership and direction to 5 team leads/managers as well as leading and directing development to increase the scope and depth of the services we offer. Ruils is a charity supports disabled children and adults, to live independently, be part of their community and to live life to the full. We provide information, advice, practical support, befriending and accessible activities to our clients and families. We enable individuals to have choice and control over the way in which they get their support.

The Adult Services Team Manager is one of 3 team managers reporting to our Chief Executive Officer. The services managed include Direct Payment Support across Richmond and Wandsworth, Befriending and Community Activities, our Benefits and Housing Advice and Information service and our Counselling service.

We constantly research and develop services to meet the identified needs of the community and this role would suit someone who wants a good level of autonomy to develop new ideas.

The Adults Services Manager works alongside our Children’s Team Manager and our Social Prescribing and Community Development Manager, supported by Finance, Fundraising and Campaigns and Communications Managers.

Purpose of Post

• To be responsible for the management of the Support Services to Direct Payment clients in Richmond and Wandsworth.
• To be responsible for the research and development of adult services in Richmond and Wandsworth.
• To oversee promotion, monitoring and delivery of the CILS, Pathways and Counselling services.
• To provide leadership and supervision, performance evaluation and general support for all of the adult services team managers and leads
• To be responsible for adult safeguarding and health and safety across the organisation.

Main Duties include:

Management of Direct Payment Support Service

• Lead and manage the Direct Payment Support Service across Richmond and Wandsworth Boroughs through an experienced DP Project Manager.
• Provide support to the DP Project Manager to resolve complex DP HR management issues around the area of employment law.
• Support the Project Manager in their work with the local authority to set targets for the project, monitor performance against these targets and identify and resolve any issues that arise.
• Report as required to the commissioners and the Ruils Board of trustees
• Work with the DP Project Manager and the CEO on new DP projects and funding applications as required.

CILS, Pathways and Counselling Teams

• Lead and manage the delivery of the Community activity, Befriending, Pathways and Counselling services.
• Work with the CILS partners to ensure that the service is meeting Local Authority targets
• Report as required to the commissioners and the Ruils Board of trustees
• Responsible for ensuring active promotion of the services to potential and existing clients and stakeholders and to ensure representation of Ruils at networking events.
• Work with the CEO and Fundraising Manager to ensure projects are fully funded and demand is well managed.

General Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring safeguarding policies and principles are upheld across Adult Teams.
• Responsible for Health and Safety across the organisation.

Community Advice Works is an established community charity based in New Cross in South
East London. As the only charity in the London Borough of Lewisham offering a general
drop-in advice service, we are a critical source of support to vulnerable residents. We have
built a strong reputation within the Borough for providing high quality, independent, person-
centred welfare and housing advice. The organisation employs several part-time staff and
has a team of volunteers. In addition to providing advice we currently deliver a domestic
violence project at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital.

Key duties

• Staff and volunteer management
• Line manage staff by providing support and supervision as needed, conducting regular performance reviews, and identifying staff training needs
• Oversee recruitment, training, and management of volunteers to ensure they are properly supported and equipped to help meet CAW’s service goals

Service delivery

• Ensure high quality and timely service delivery in line with the Service Level Agreements with our various service partners

• Compile and maintain accurate statistics on service performance to share with funders and CAW trustees

• Engage regularly with our funders and other key stakeholders to build and maintain positive working relationships, and provide them with timely reporting on our service performance as needed 
•  Update service level agreements with existing funders, and draft new agreements as needed

Administration and Finance

• Ensure day-to-day administrative processes are functioning smoothly, and that necessary policies and procedures are up to date
• Line manage work of receptionist/administrative support worker

Fundraising and Marketing

• Help identify new funding and other revenue-raising opportunities
• Support the work of the fundraising sub-committee in preparing funding applications
• Work with trustees and external vendors to ensure CAW website is kept up-to-date
• Work with trustees and external vendors (as appropriate) to develop a social media presence for CAW
• Identifying and supporting efforts to increase CAW’s profile in the local community and to build relationships with key local stakeholders as appropriate Governance
• Prepare monthly reports for the trustees on service performance
• Maintain good lines of communication with trustees on all operational matters
• Attend trustee board meetings as needed

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managerial role

We are seeking to recruit a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker at Lewisham Vulnerable Adults Accommodation Service.

In Conjunction with the Service Management, you will work dynamically to deliver a high-quality support service to people in the borough of Lewisham with a range of complex and enduring needs.

You will have experience of providing intense support to a small caseload of clients with multiple disadvantages. The successful candidate will have skills and experience of working in a psychologically informed way to achieve the best outcomes.

As a Specialist Multiple Disadvantage worker, you will have experience of intensively and skilfully managing a small caseload of clients.  

In the role of Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker, you will be expected to work in conjunction with the Team Manager to manage all referrals and assessments in a timely manner to ensure all assessments are conducted in a skilled and sensitive way to encourage potential clients to openly discuss their strengths as well as their deficits.  

As a Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker, you will be responsible for the delivery, and evaluation, of a range of Life Skills, and Recovery workshops and activities to support our clients' skills acquisition. To give support and guidance to project workers in relation to best practice standards for supporting homeless people with multiple disadvantages and complex needs.

The Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker will have skills in effectively liaising and building good relationships, with external and internal stakeholders to keep a satisfactory level of appropriate referrals.

About you:

• An understanding of best practices in supporting people with complex needs and an ability to support and guidance colleagues.  

• The ability to effectively and intensively case management a small case load of client with complex needs. Also, can create SMART support plans and effectively assess risk.  

• Experience and commitment to working flexibly and creatively to response to changes in sectorial best practice, external environment, organisational requirements, etc.  

• Experience of working with or supporting vulnerable people with support needs around any of the following issues; rough sleeping, mental ill-health, physical health, neuro diversity, problematic substance misuse, ex- offending.  

• To have a non- judgmental approach to working with clients who have multiple disadvantages, to promote a strength –based approach and an understanding of and commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

What you will do:

Working arrangements: This role will work shifts starting at 10:25pm and finishing at 07:40am. Shifts will be on a rota bases across a 7-day working week. 33 hours will be based upon working 4 nights shifts per week.

Healthy Zones programme

Healthy Zones supports primary, secondary and special schools to create a food environment that puts young people's health centre stage. Job Purpose

· To promote, develop and deliver the Healthy Zones programme across schools in Southwark and Lambeth

· Support with the expansion of the Healthy Zones programme across other regions in England

Key Tasks include:

•  Recruit schools to take part in Healthy Zones
• Complete food audits in schools looking across the whole school day (training provided)

This role sits in the Trust’s Business Development/Nature Based Solutions (NBS) team, an innovative new team focused on county wide recovery and green finance investment within the county of Surrey. This role will also manage the Trusts internal and external processes around Green Finance and drive forward investment in nature at a landscape level.  

As a senior role reporting into the Director of Business Development and Partnerships; practical experience of green finance including biodiversity net gain is essential; experience will also need to include demonstrable examples of project managing medium/large scale projects, contract management, financial analysis and working in a fast paced environment.

Our Legal Practice Unit provides advice and representation primarily under legal aid contract. Our Migrant Children’s Project promotes the rights of refugee and migrant children, young people and families through the delivery of advice, practice change through training and capacity building to professionals and systems change through research, policy and advocacy.

About the role

This role will provide financial and operational leadership and management for CCLC particularly focussed on the Legal Practice Unit and the Migrant Children’s Project but with support for the Child Law Advice Service and Coram International where required. Managing a small finance team, the role will hold primary responsibility for core financial functions within CCLC including legal aid billing and management and tracking of grant and other charitable funding. Through systematic and efficient financial management, the post holder will play a pivotal role in CCLC’s financial sustainability. The role will act as a key point of contact with Coram’s central finance team and a range of internal and external stakeholders on financial matters.

The role will also oversee the smooth running of the London and Colchester offices through line management of operations and administrative staff.

The role would suit a high organised and efficient business support professional with experience of financial management within the legal or charity sector. In particular, candidates with experience of legal billing and more specifically, civil legal aid billing, would be welcomed.

This is a largely office-based role in order to fully provide support to the finance and operations team. However, some remote / hybrid working may be possible depending the experience of the candidate after the initial settling in period (to be negotiated with the successful candidate).The finance team are split between the London and Colchester offices and the post holder should expect some travel to both locations. The large majority of the legal and policy team are based in London and as such regular (at least twice weekly) presence in our London office will be expected. However, on other days the candidate could be based in the London or Colchester office.

Whilst this is a full-time position, we will consider requests for part-time working (28 hours per week minimum) and we will endeavour to offer some flexibility with days and hours to be agreed.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Behaviourist (Clinical Behaviour Services) to work on providing an internal referral service for behavioural medicine, recommending treatment protocols, monitoring patient progress, and assisting with more complex cases as required.

What does this role involve?

As Veterinary Behaviourist you’ll:

• Work with the Community Clinical Animal Behaviour and post-adoption support teams in devising the optimal behaviour rehabilitation strategy for dogs in their care while liaising with external veterinary practices as required to support the work of clinical teams.
• Support and advise staff across Dogs Trust on matters relating to psychoactive medication and links between disease, physiology and behavioural signs, under the direction of the Head of Clinical Behaviour Services.
• Provide behaviour consultations to owned dogs with behaviour problems especially those with a medical component that requires specialist input.
• Assist with staff training through workshops, clinical case reviews, mentorship and conferences.

About you:

With a good knowledge of dog behaviour, training and welfare you will have a veterinary qualification with postgraduate experience as a veterinary surgeon. With basic knowledge of statistical methods and ability to evaluate published research you will have enthusiasm for professional development, research and developing specialist skills in veterinary behavioural medicine.

The role of the Clinical Behaviour Services team is to provide clinical behaviour services for members of the public including adopters of Dogs Trust dogs and in association with Dog School.

Bexley Food Alliance Project Coordinator

The Bexley Food Alliance is a new network which was funded by the GLA to work towards taking pressure off the emergency food aid services and providing increased financial support to Bexley residents. This network has now expanded and aims to build a collaborative network of agencies that can increase fairer access to healthy, nutritious and culturally appropriate food, as well as any additional support residents might need. We are looking for a Project Coordinator to take over the day-to-day running of this network (see below for a brief description). This is a good opportunity for anyone who wants to take on a part-time, one-year project, perhaps as a stepping stone into something more significant, or perhaps you’re returning to work or changing careers. This is an opportunity to be at the start of an exciting, innovative partnership project, shaping a network and forming strong alliances with various agencies. 

You will work closely with the VCS within Bexley to build the capacity and capabilities of local groups, provide partnership/networking opportunities that enable them to carry out their own objectives effectively and offer high quality services.

You will work flexibly, applying initiative to provide consistent and seamless support to organisations.  You will support across a variety of charity development but focus on food partnerships and wraparound support to provide more holistic support.

Key Duties:

• Build and promote positive working relationships between VCS groups and organisations, statutory partners, commissioners and funders.
• Work with a wide range of delivery partners and other key stakeholders to maximise the use of community resources and ensure opportunities are maximised.
• Undertake community and outreach work – particularly to parts of the borough where the VCS voice is less heard.
• Encourage and support groups to seek funding from a range of sources including contracts and grants and provide the necessary support.
• Use our database to keep well maintained records of support given, funding achieved as a result of our support, case studies and outcomes, brief summary reports for monitoring and development purposes.
• To continuously engage in a mapping process, highlighting existing providers and supporting the start-up of new services.
• To organise and facilitate network meetings bringing organisations together to tackle food poverty and offer increased support with additional needs such as financial, physical and mental health wellbeing.
• To build relationships with various organisations, offering diverse support to increase collaboration, new offers and increased support.
• To work closely with the Local Authority to support policy change.
• To build relationships and network outside of the borough to bring in good practice and successful initiatives.
• To attend any relevant training and/or workshops that support the development of the network.
• To increase knowledge and understanding of food poverty and the cost-of-living crisis in general as well as grants and funding opportunities.
• Attend staff meetings, and training as required.
• Identify, report, and monitor any safeguarding concerns in accordance with the latest local procedures relating to the appropriate service.
• To support and work closely with all the teams within BVSC.
•  To comply with, and share responsibility for ensuring the implementation of, BVSC policies and procedures and key legislation such as GDPR and Safeguarding.
• Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be assigned from time to time including travel throughout the borough to attend events, occasionally on evenings/weekends, meet with volunteers and organisations.

These are the normal duties which are required of the position; however, we do require that all staff be flexible and may be required to perform other duties to ensure the efficient running of services. 

Please note that the base for this role is split between the Engine House, Bexley, and Bexley Civic Offices. In addition, the post will involve occasional working from various venues across the borough.

As Project Worker, you will take responsibility for the day to day running of projects belonging to Cambridge Cyrenians. You will provide cover and one to one support for residents of Cambridge Cyrenians’ existing move on and long stay projects.

Role duties include:

• Ensure that individuals accepting accommodation understand their rights and responsibilities as residents of the project.
• Ensure that accommodation charges are collected and arrears followed up, that housing benefit claims are processed and closely monitored, and that proper records are kept.
• Encourage participation of the residents in the services provided and to ensure they share the responsibility for the day to day running of the house. 
• Support residents in identifying solutions to their social and housing problems to enable residents to live as independently as possible.
• Ensure residents are aware of all entitlements to welfare and housing benefits, that they are aware of their housing options and assist in making applications as necessary.
• To develop and maintain links with appropriate statutory and voluntary agencies on behalf of residents.

In this role, you will play a vital role in overseeing our in-house and community-based Sport Project. Your aim: To help make physical activity accessible to those experiencing homelessness.

About the role:

As the Sports Manager, you will be responsible for The Sport Project. You will be overseeing the day to day running of the project and management of the team including Sports Coordinators, freelancers, volunteers, and peers. You will be leading on expanding the reach of the project, forming partnerships with like-minded organisation and charities and advocating for the importance of physical activity within the homeless sector.

In your role, you will also manage relationships for grant givers and funders, including being responsible for budgets, reporting and reconciliations. Additionally you will support the team in the wider role out of the project across the homelessness community, at time this may involve helping to deliver a proportion of physical activity and helping to engage wider groups of participants and staff.

The approach taken with clients will be psychologically informed, incorporating an understanding of complex trauma and addiction. The outcomes for your role, include developing positive and sustained relationships with external partners and helping to make physical activity accessible.

About you:

• Experience managing staff or volunteers and freelancers.
• Experience and knowledge of managing projects or partnerships.
• Experience working with people from a variety of backgrounds and in different settings.
