Salary: £28,908 per annum

Cambridge Cyrenians, a reputable organisation with over 50 years of experience in providing accommodation and support, is thrilled to announce an opening for a Support Worker. Join our dedicated team and contribute to the transformational journey of individuals in our supported housing service.

This is a frontline role where you will work directly with people experiencing homelessness in supported accommodation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide cover and some one-to-one support for residents of Cambridge Cyrenians existing Move On and Long Stay projects.
• Ensure that individuals accepting accommodation understand their rights and responsibilities as residents of the project.
• Support residents in identifying solutions to their social and housing problems to enable residents to live as independently as possible.
• Ensure residents are aware of all entitlements to welfare and housing benefits, that they are aware of their housing options and assist in making applications as necessary.
• Ensure that accommodation charges are collected and arrears followed up, that housing benefit claims are processed and closely monitored, and that proper records are kept.
• Monitor resident’s engagement with meaningful activities to ensure appropriateness of the accommodation for the individual.
• Ensure that all records are kept in a proper manner and up to date using the system adopted by the service.
