We have an opportunity to work for our Adult Carers Team as an Adult Carers Support Advisor. You will provide emotional and practical support to Adult Carers in the London Borough of Bromley, aligned and working closely with the integrated care networks.

• To offer emotional and practical support to build resilience for carers on a one-to one basis.
• To provide support face to face, over the phone and in group settings.

• To run an active caseload within the KPI requirements of the Bromley Well contract.
• To input cases on to the Charity log system accurately
• To ensure that services are accessible to carers.
• To participate in the provision of news and the production of the Carers newsletter
• To collaborate with other Bromley Well partners, including Mencap/MIND etc. to ensure effective appropriate referral pathways for quality service provision.
• To abide by and take part in the development and review of policy and procedure for the Carers pathway.
• At all times to maintain the professional integrity and reputation of the Charity and represent their main interests in any dealings with other bodies, groups and individuals.
• Attend staff meetings, supervision and organisational events as required.
• Collect case studies to help demonstrate AGE UK Bromley and Greenwich’s Adult Carers Support service’s impact.
• To undertake any other duties commensurate with the purpose and remit of the post.
• Undertake out of hours and weekend work as the role requires for which TOIL will be granted

Your challenge? To undertake a portfolio of cases, generally incorporating the more complex situations, and deputise for Service Managers as and when required. Supervising the work of Practitioners and Support Workers will be important too, as will prioritising activities and monitoring service delivery, outputs and outcomes and providing guidance, training and clinical supervision. And, all the while, we’ll expect you to work in a way that recognises and values diversity and make the most of your understanding of the functional model of alcohol, the model of change and CBT. 

An energetic and confident self‐starter, you have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community care (e.g. NVQ Level 4 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 4 Health and Social Care or equivalent. You should also have experience of partnership working as well as the ability to maintain constructive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders from a wide range of services and disciplines. What’s more, you have a flexible approach, a commitment to the principles of confidentiality and the ability to write client records and report and fulfil data requirements.

We are looking for an experienced professional to lead and manage YMCA East Surrey’s Childcare Services including our Early Years provision. If you are committed to make a positive difference in the lives of children - and the staff that support them - we would be delighted to hear from you.

Main Responsibilities:

Lead on service delivery, management and governance

– To provide strong leadership for the service based on a clear vision for the service, clarity of standards and outcomes to be achieved.

– With the Head of CYP support the strategic development, planning and delivery of specialist services for children and families ensuring an effective co-ordinated offer for these families is in place and to develop new childcare settings as appropriate.

– To have the primary responsibility for establishing, maintaining and developing consistent and high standards of professional and managerial competence amongst all staff involved in the delivery of Childcare in line with that of internal policies and procedures and of regulators such as Ofsted.

– To provide line management to the Service Managers and Co-ordinators and work with them to ensure they provide an effective service to children and families in Surrey.

– Maintain up to date detailed knowledge of legislation and national policy and to ensure SLT, CYP management team and the service are briefed on changes. This will include the duties and responsibilities arising from the Children’s Act 2014 and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023 amongst others.

– To have lead responsibility for ensuring the Childcare operates in a way which safeguards children and is fully compliant with children’s safeguarding procedures.

Manage stakeholder engagement and financial integrity

– Lead on ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in conjunction with the Quality and Insight Manager. 

– With the Head of Finance and HCYP to produce annual budgets for Childcare services and monitor them to ensure financial viability and appropriate use of charitable resources

– To ensure that key relationships and business processes are in place to improve outcomes for children and families.

– Work with the Development Manager to support the Managers and Co-ordinators to write funding bids and reports for new and existing work

– To ensure childcare services meets both national, local performance and quality indicators in an effective and timely way.

– Ensure all key policies and processes are up to date and fit for purpose.

– Work collaboratively with Quality and Insight Manager to ensure services deliver value for money, within budgets and are evidence based, ensuring that services are rigorously evaluated working with the in terms of quality and outcomes and that they continuously improve and are provided in response to children’s needs.

Training and Development

– Contribute to an in-house training programme for CYP staff and volunteers, which is also offered to all YMCA East Surrey staff and volunteers and key partners

– Manage, and when required, deliver in-house training sessions supported by CYP Managers and Co-ordinators

– Work with the Head of CYP and HR to develop volunteering, apprenticeship, and traineeship opportunities across the department

Provide effective management and support and demonstrate the values and culture of YMCA East Surrey.

– Ensure that all activities demonstrate the values and culture of YMCA East Surrey.

– Work with the Head of CYP/Deputy CEO to support the implementation of YMCA East Surrey strategy and Operational Plan.

– Any other duties are required to be performed within the grade and renumeration of the role.

Job Purpose:To be responsible for the management and effective delivery of multi-disciplinary services for children and families. The aim of the services managed by this post is to provide support to children and families to help to belong, contribute and thrive within East Surrey. Also, to support the HCYP with quality, development and training for staff and volunteers across the Children and Young People services. 

Hours of work:  35 hours a week,Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm with flexibility

As the post-holder, you will be working in our Camden Women's Recovery Service hostel providing specialist interventions for a designated caseload and to the wider client group, via our in-house recovery programme. 

Your role will be working intensively with the residents on their supports needs. The role of Complex Needs Project Worker is a specialist role, designed to work with people who may be more difficult to reach and establish working relationships with.  As such, you will role model good practice for working with those who have experienced multiple disadvantage by adopting a trauma informed approach.

Within this setting, you will also work to establish a culture of co-production where residents are at the forefront of the work that is carried out, helping to promote autonomy and build individual confidence and interpersonal skills.

The rota for the post is earlies (8 am - 4 pm) and lates (2.30pm - 10.30pm).

About you:

• Previous experience of working with female rough sleepers or people with complex mental health, physical health or substance use support needs. 
• An understanding of working with people using person-centred approaches and working collaboratively within a harm minimisation and recovery framework.
• A flexible, innovative and creative approach to working with a sometimes hard to engage and challenging client group, is also required.

As a Specialist Multiple Disadvantage worker, you will have experience of intensively and skilfully managing a small caseload of clients.  

In the role of Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker, you will be expected to work in conjunction with the Team Manager to manage all referrals and assessments in a timely manner to ensure all assessments are conducted in a skilled and sensitive way to encourage potential clients to openly discuss their strengths as well as their deficits.  

As a Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker, you will be responsible for the delivery, and evaluation, of a range of Life Skills, and Recovery workshops and activities to support our clients' skills acquisition. To give support and guidance to project workers in relation to best practice standards for supporting homeless people with multiple disadvantages and complex needs.

The Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker will have skills in effectively liaising and building good relationships, with external and internal stakeholders to keep a satisfactory level of appropriate referrals.

About you:

• An understanding of best practices in supporting people with complex needs and an ability to support and guidance colleagues.  

• The ability to effectively and intensively case management a small case load of client with complex needs. Also, can create SMART support plans and effectively assess risk.  

• Experience and commitment to working flexibly and creatively to response to changes in sectorial best practice, external environment, organisational requirements, etc.  

• Experience of working with or supporting vulnerable people with support needs around any of the following issues; rough sleeping, mental ill-health, physical health, neuro diversity, problematic substance misuse, ex- offending.  

• To have a non- judgmental approach to working with clients who have multiple disadvantages, to promote a strength –based approach and an understanding of and commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

Our involvement work brings together our community to mobilise urgent change in research, support, campaigning and awareness through the power of their united voices. The insight from our involvement network inspires and drives all our work across The Charity. This role involves actively engaging and stewarding everyone across all relevant and interested groups. This includes providing support to those living with a brain tumour diagnosis, their family and their friends. As part of our services team, you will ensure we engage all groups including those disadvantaged and less heard from, championing the voices of our wider community to grow our involvement network.  You will also collaborate with those professionally committed to the cause, including our research community, to ensure that people affected by brain tumours have the chance to both shape and participate in research opportunities. You will be responsible for measuring and sharing the difference we are making through the delivery and analysis of our Improving Brain Tumour Care Surveys, empowering the community to identify the gaps in treatment and care experiences, so we can make a difference where it matters most.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with individuals, groups and communities and have the ability to communicate complex information in clear, engaging ways. As a highly motivated and established champion of community involvement, you will have a proven track record of delivering a programme of involvement activities, including tools and resources to support meaningful patient and public involvement in research. Key accountabilities:

· Grow the involvement of the community in driving development of The Charity’s work including support, campaigns, fundraising, research and strategy

· Develop the involvement strategy and engage teams across the organisation to maximise the use of involvement

· Promote, advise on, and facilitate involvement activities including but not limited to focus groups, workshops and developing and undertaking surveys

· Collaborate with our Research team, contributing to the design and implementation of policies relating to research involvement

· Steward and look after the involvement network and develop their experience in a structured way over time

· Manage our Young Ambassador and Involvement Champion programmes

· Ensure we engage all groups including those disadvantaged and less heard from

· As part of the wider services team, work closely with the team and community to review service delivery and development of new content

· Ensure effective operational cover of the support services when required, including own participation in delivery of services

The Role
Our Practitioner Led Assessment Service is the entry point for our beneficiaries seeking support from the Charity. Our Assessment Practitioners work in partnership with our beneficiaries to identify goals, individual needs and appropriate solutions.

The team provide advice, information and support and work collaboratively with the multi-professional team to ensure our beneficiaries are offered the right support at the right time.

We run a monitoring programme to capture our social and environmental impact and effectiveness across a range of indicators and are looking for an enthusiastic, creative person to help with this work and become our Impact Coordinator. This role will suit a graduate with degrees, or equivalent experience, in the Social Sciences, Sustainable Development, Management or related fields. This is an opportunity for an ambitious candidate to jump straight into a well-supported role on a big project and produce well-presented, evidence-based stories about the project’s impact using numbers, text, and multimedia for a variety of different audiences.

We gather social value data and KPIs, and have a burgeoning collection of testimonials, feedback, and imagery. We need someone to help build and maintain our qualitative and quantitative data library. This will very much be a “doing” role, involving time spent with spreadsheets and reports, as well as time spent with the team helping them with the same. We are collating the story of the project to date for a key report in Q1 2025.

What you will do:

Provide leadership, guidance, and effective line management to a team of suicide prevention advisers.

Led by a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst and UKBA(Cert), we have highly specialised team of clinicians, including rehabilitation workers for the visually impaired and behaviour consultants. We assess functional vision and test for cerebral visual impairments, which can often be an overlooked establishing operation for behavioural challenges. As well as direct assessment and intervention to work to increase people’s opportunities in life, we train our support teams to meet the people we supports’ unique needs.  Our team members are committed to joint working with families, support teams and our NHS and local authority colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for the people we support.

We work as partners with the residential or supported living teams to build plans that are accepted, operationally achievable, generalisable, and sustainable. 

Your experience & personal characteristics 

As you will be working with people in their own homes, residential and group supported living services, you must be confident engaging with diverse groups of people, family members and multi-agency professionals.  You need to be passionate about equality and equity, being able to see the potential for improvement and knowing how to guide the person we support and their team to achieve the best. You will already have experience working directly with people who have learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, multi-sensory impairments, and people who may present behaviours that challenge.  You will be fluent in the use of applied behaviour analysis to devise ways that are simple but effective to measure baseline and on-going development.  You will be able to support our teams by putting plans into action through your direct modelling.

Your qualifications

This position requires a minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis or a related field (such as Positive Behaviour Support) with at least two years of applicable experience; or Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, with one year of professional experience.

About this role…

Assessment Centres are fast paced services where people are referred in, usually from the street, and rapidly referred on to appropriate longer term accommodation. The services are short stay, and staff provide wrap around support and liaison with several external partners, including physical health, mental health, substance use and housing. Staffed 24 hours to ensure this quick turnaround, they are a key service to ensure people are off the streets and in stable accommodation.

We are looking for a Night Manager to work across our accommodation projects, with a specific focus and managerial responsibility in our assessment centres based in Hackney, City of London and Lambeth.

• Be responsible for directly managing employees who work at night
• Ensure that Thames Reach policies and best practice are understood and put into practice, and that employees working at night have access to regular in person supervision and training
