The Role

Working closely with the eLearning Developer, IT Team, wider organisation and suppliers, you will maintain the LMS and training systems, and create, develop, build and maintain e-Learning courses and content.

Main duties include:

• Create and maintain high quality eLearning courses and content
• Suggest creative ideas for the design of online course material
• Evaluate eLearning customer feedback and use it to inform future design and development.
• Administer the learning management system (LMS) including maintaining user data.
• Problem resolution, act as first line support for LMS issues
• Understand and apply the principles of GDPR, Data Protection Act and security of data.
• Regularly keep abreast of emerging technologies
• Work with the IT team and other internal stakeholders to develop and manage key projects and services.
• Identify any time or cost savings initiatives.

We are looking for someone with strong technical skills and familiarity with eLearning platforms and a commitment to and appreciation of quality customer service.

You will have relevant, practical experience of:

• eLearning platforms
• eLearning packages
• Working in a customer facing support role

Sitting within the Chief Executive’s Office, this new position of Internal Communications and Team Executive, will play a key role in delivering high-quality internal communications across ARUK. Role Overview

The Interim Director of Development (Maternity Cover) will provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of all fundraising and development activities at the MCC Foundation during a period of parental leave. This role ensures continuity of fundraising operations, oversees a small team, and supports the Foundation's ongoing donor engagement and income generation priorities.

The successful candidate will step into a well-functioning development team and bring the ability to maintain momentum, lead a capable team, and sustain strong relationships with donors, partners, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and continuity for the Foundation’s fundraising team, supporting colleagues to maintain momentum and ensuring ongoing delivery of the development strategy.

Sue Ryder has an exciting opportunity to support the development and implementation of a compliance framework across all commercial operations (fundraising and retail) at Sue Ryder that will drive the future of one of the largest and most recognisable UK healthcare charities so we can continue to provide 2.7 million hours of expert medical, practical, bereavement and emotional support every year, in our hospices, in people's homes and in the community.

The Role
Reporting to the Head of Commercial Support and Governance, the role works alongside the Fundraising Supporter Services and Standards Manager, Retail Operations Manager and Retail Support & Projects Manager. The role will work closely with key stakeholders across Sue Ryder predominantly to focus on fundraising operational compliance and provide leadership and assurance guidance for Retail and other commercial operations that Sue Ryder develop in the future.

You will support the development and implementation of a compliance framework across fundraising operations at Sue Ryder which includes, maintaining awareness of external legal and regulatory requirements, engaging stakeholders to review and update policies, work with subject matter experts to create compliance processes and training.
You will also build and maintain reporting and other mechanisms which clearly identify where assurance is available or where not, providing leaders with data to focus on improving compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a compliance plan with agreed assurance levels, including audits, SLA and KPI reporting, and comprehensive documentation for ongoing commercial fundraising and retail operations.

• Review and update all compliance policies and procedures, recommending and gaining agreement with subject matter experts for appropriate review periods.

• Ensure adequate training resources are available for compliance related matters and ensure regular reporting to monitor compliance and inform managers and ensure compliance is embedded in campaign planning and execution. Review, advise and sign off all fundraising materials sent out across Sue Ryder with subject matter experts.

• Work with stakeholders to build and deliver an ongoing compliance communications plan and strategy

You will have

• Expert knowledge of the CAP code, General Data Protection Regulation, Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), Code of Fundraising Practice and other charity requirements set by the ICO, the Fundraising Regulator, Gambling Commission’s Licence Conditions and Code of Practice and HMRC Gift Aid Standards.

Core Member, Office and Communications

Your working week will encompass a range of core tasks that are often shared amongst community members. You will be expected (after an initial learning and induction period) to host and facilitate events, lead chapel gatherings, take a turn cooking, cleaning and helping around the house and gardens. If you have particular practical skills in these areas that would be an advantage. On occasion you will need to cover for colleagues in their absence. These shared tasks apply to all established members of our core community and we work very much as a team to plan our work and develop our offer to our visitors

As Core Community Member with lead responsibility for office work and digital communication at Othona you’ll be representing the ethos and values of Othona to all who contact the Centre, offering a friendly and helpful response and working to increase our online presence and thus our reach.

You will need to be a good administrator, and enjoy planning and organising the office tasks including responding to enquiries, taking bookings, maintaining good records and other aspects of office work.

You will have good digital skills and be at ease in using social media and other online communication. You will become the key person in rationalising and improving our office IT and in exploring effective new marketing opportunities. Your work, within an overall communications policy agreed with the warden as your line manager, will help us to attract a wider demographic to attend and enjoy what Othona offers.

But just as important, you need the personal qualities to interact sensitively with our visitors and other contacts, to be well organised without being inflexible, to cope calmly in changing circumstances and work cheerfully in a small team. So spiritual and emotional intelligence and an interest in people will need to underpin your technical skills.

You will need to live on-site where the available accommodation is a self-contained flat. A job-share with someone who shares your accommodation could be feasible. Please let us know if you have this in mind so that we can discuss the practicalities.  

The salary offered is £9,918.38, with full board and lodging, pension provision, utility bills and council tax paid by Othona, this equates to a much higher figure in real terms and is in accordance with relevant provisions within the National Minimum Wage Act. You can expect two days off a week (on a variable rota) and 28 days annual leave allowance.

If you are shortlisted, you will be asked visit and volunteer with us for a few days at a mutually convenient date. As well as an introduction to the work, this allows you and the Othona team to get to know each other. As a Consultant, you will manage a variety of evaluation, learning and co-design consultancy projects with charitable funders, charities, local authorities and public bodies. You will play a key role in ensuring that projects are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget. You will draw on your expertise in research methods, analysis, facilitation and project management to manage projects as part of multi-disciplinary teams. You will be the main point of contact for clients and ensure effective budget and resource management. Our project allocations are matched to your skills and interests wherever possible, providing room for professional development across sectors, themes and methodologies.

Alongside project delivery, you will contribute to business development by supporting proposal writing, relationship-building with prospective and existing clients and shaping new work aligned with our strategy.
