The Talent Set

Job description

The Talent Set are delighted to be partnering with Lumos to recruit a new Senior Programme Fundraising Manager, joining their growing fundraising team at a pivotal moment in the organisation's development.

Senior Programme Fundraising Manager

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000
Location: London with hybrid working (Temple office, 2 days per week)
Travel: To Country Offices, approximately 3 trips per year of around 1 week each

At Lumos, we believe children belong in families, not institutions. Through partnerships with governments, communities and civil society organisations, Lumos works to transform care systems, reduce reliance on institutional care and ensure more children can grow up in safe and loving family environments.

After more than twenty years of driving care reform globally, Lumos is entering an ambitious new phase of growth. By 2036, the organisation aims to enable 500,000 children currently in residential care to grow up in families, and support at least 10 million more children and families to avoid unnecessary separation during a crisis.

To achieve this, Lumos is diversifying and expanding its funding base and is seeking an experienced fundraising professional to help secure the investment needed to scale its impact. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Fundraising, the Senior Programme Fundraising Manager will play a pivotal role in developing major funding opportunities and building strategic partnerships with foundations, institutional donors and sector partners.

This is more than a traditional fundraising role. Working closely with Country Directors, programme teams and senior leadership, you'll help shape how Lumos grows, translating systems- change strategies into compelling funding propositions and securing the partnerships needed to expand care reform for children.

As Senior Programme Fundraising Manager, you will:

  • Lead the development of complex six-figure and multi-year funding bids to institutional donors, trusts and foundations.
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of strategic funding opportunities across Lumos' international programmes.
  • Build strong relationships with funders, consortium partners and key stakeholders to maximise funding opportunities.
  • Support Country Directors and programme teams to strengthen donor positioning, fundraising planning and engagement.
  • Work closely with programmes and leadership teams to transform systems-change strategies into compelling funding propositions.

You will bring:

  • A proven track record of securing significant grants and leading successful six-figure funding proposals.
  • Experience within international development, humanitarian, human rights, child protection or similarly complex international organisations.
  • Strong understanding of institutional fundraising, trusts and foundations, and strategic donor engagement.
  • Experience partnering with programme teams to develop fundable strategies, propositions and growth opportunities.
  • Excellent relationship-building, influencing and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate complex internal stakeholders.

This role would particularly suit an experienced programme fundraiser looking to move closer to programme strategy and organisational growth. It offers a rare opportunity to help shape how an internationally respected organisation expands its impact, whilst mobilising the funding and partnerships needed to ensure more children can grow up in families rather than institutions.
