What the job involves
We’re looking an Events and Community Fundraising Coordinator to join our high performing Events and Community Team. The team are driven to maximise opportunities, we aim to reach ambitious targets and provide an excellent supporter experience.
Our team raise funds through a range of activities including:
- Our own events (e.g. March for Men)
- Virtual products (e.g. The Month Series)
- Third party events (e.g. London Marathon)
- Golf Days
- Helping community fundraisers who organise their own activity
You’ll be supporting our third-party events programme and be our first point of contact for our fundraisers. You'll provide admin support for our registration processes and support fundraisers through telephone, email, and social media channels. You’ll build and manage relationships with existing and new supporters. From registration to the end of their supporter journey you'll help motivate during challenges, offer fundraising advice and ensure thanks at the end of a first-class experience.
Whilst third party events will be your primary area of responsibility across different types of events, you’ll also get the chance to work across teams to provide support where needed during busy periods of activity.
This role works with data through maintaining our Raiser’s Edge database. You'll also update records on JustGiving and Enthuse. This requires accuracy and working under the requirements of GDPR.
You’ll also work with our Communications teams supports the planning and delivery of our activity. You'll help engage with our digital adverts and identify compelling supporter stories. This helps to raise the profile of our fundraising products, as well as prostate cancer and Prostate Cancer UK.

The Corporate Team at ARUK has just enjoyed a record-breaking year of fundraising by our corporate partners. We require a proactive and organised colleague to provide the team with vital administrative support.
The successful candidate will support our partnerships with companies such as Dyson, The Perfume Shop, Cadbury, and Slimming World while building excellent relationships with supporters from within those organisations. This role will also support our new business team with their approaches to prospective companies.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract, or on return of the substantive post holder, to cover a secondment period.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Team administrative support
· Provide general administrative support for all members of the team.
· Manage invites and room bookings for Corporate Team meetings.
· Ensure accurate recording keeping through the use of our CRM system.
· Be the main internal point of contact for the Corporate Team.
· Respond to incoming team enquires promptly and professionally.
· Ensure accurate financial records are kept, by reconciling gifts across multiple donation platforms.
· Fundraising stock management and distribution.
· Assisting the team with event planning, including sourcing pricing quotes, raising purchase orders and booking equipment and ordering merchandise.
· Update the team intranet and website pages.
· Post from the Partnership Development team Twitter accounts, monitor LinkedIn for activity by our partners and flag to appropriate team member.
· Update internal group email distribution lists as required.
Securing new partnerships
· Fundraising data management: adding new companies and prospects to ensure accurate records of approaches made by the team.
· Monitor supporter information on the database to generate new leads for the team.
· Generating reports for the New Business team and maintaining accurate records.
· Provide ad hoc support in the lead-up to high-value pitches and applications e.g. prepare materials, book couriers etc.
Supporting our existing partnerships
· Provide a first-class stewardship journey for fundraisers from companies that are supporting the charity. Including making sure they have the materials and resources required to fundraise – preparing and sending information packs, wishing them good luck, drafting letters, and sending thank you messages.
· Work closely with the Central Fundraising Team to ensure a consistent stewardship journey across all audiences.
· Manage online giving pages and our CRM system to make sure corporate supporters are identified and recorded correctly, and their income potential is maximised.
· Monitor the CRM system to make sure that all information about our corporate fundraisers is recorded correctly.
· Filter enquiries from our corporate supporters whilst the Partnership Development Officers are on annual leave to ensure a timely and helpful response.
· Help support event delivery by sourcing volunteers, merchandise, and gifts in kind for events.
· Keep the Partnership Development Officers and Team Managers up to date on feedback from supporters.
· Communicate key fundraising products and communications designed for our Corporate supporters with the Regional team.
· Develop new fundraising idea packs to engage our Corporate supporters and seek appropriate sign off.
Working with others
· Work with our merchandising team for the development and production of event materials as required.
· Liaise with our distribution centre to organise mass mailings of materials needed for pitches and large partnership launches and events.
· Represent the Corporate Partnerships team on working groups for internal projects to ensure the team’s needs are met.
· Work closely with our Supporter Care Team, Central Fundraising Team and Insight & Development teams to make sure that the Corporate Partnership team is following processes correctly and is adopting improved practices where possible.
What we are looking for:
· Confidence working with computers and Microsoft Office; knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
· Experience using databases.
· Experience working in a customer/client facing position.
· Demonstrable administrative experience or relevant transferable skills.
· Experience of building and managing relationships with colleagues.

Additional Information:
Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.
Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals. This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

About the opportunity
Fundraising is critical to delivering our mission and ensuring we can support as many children and young people facing disadvantage to open doors to their future. The Philanthropy Team as a whole has a combined target income for the current year (2023-24) of £1.83 million (growing to £2.35m as our target for next year), of which approximately £850k is from corporate donors and their foundations, £100k is from individuals, and the remaining from trusts and foundations. We have been successful year on year in increasing our fundraising base by building secure multi-year partnerships.
We are looking for a Fundraising Manager to work within our passionate Philanthropy Team to help grow our fundraised income and develop and maintain an effective, high-quality funding pipeline. Focussing predominantly on eliciting funding from trusts and foundations, and working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO and Corporate Partnerships Manager, the Fundraising Manager will ensure the effective management of existing funder relations and take responsibility for ensuring Action Tutoring meets its reporting obligations. Duties and responsibilities
· Work with the CEO, Head of Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships Manager to ensure Action Tutoring’s fundraising targets are met and manage an effective pipeline across Action Tutoring’s different income streams.

· Act as a system manager for fundraising platforms, databases and tools including Just Giving and the Giving Block, with support from Fundraising Coordinators.

· Manage the Fundraising Coordinators, ensuring they are growing and developing, and that work load is shared fairly.

Person specification
This role requires an ambitious, passionate and determined individual with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Alongside your team you will be responsible for writing and submitting grant applications and reports, so an excellent understanding of the English language and a keen eye for detail are crucial for success within this position. Working to deadlines and line-managing three Fundraising Coordinators, exceptional time-management, prioritisation and organisation skills are essential. With a focus on developing our individual giving strategies, we’re looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal skills.
Qualifications criteria:
· A*-C in maths and English at GCSE (or equivalent experience).
· Right to work in the UK.

About the role
As the charity works to double the number of women it helps, we are recruiting for a Fundraising Events Lead to join our Newcastle team. Reporting to the Centre Manager, they will engage new and existing supporters and achieve income targets, raising vital funds across events and community fundraising to support of our mission.

Duties and responsibilities
- Leading on Smart Works Newcastle’s signature fundraising events, including high-end supporter events, fashion sales, and pop-up shops, managing the project from planning to execution and ensuring income targets of circa £55K are met.
- Effectively steward and manage multiple event partners to increase annual gift-in-kind support, clothing donations and engagement.
- Manage all external stakeholders involved in an event, sharing event briefs with the staff and trustee team.

Personal Specification
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable experience in event management and delivery, raising income in excess of £55k per annum. Event management in a fundraising capacity is highly desirable.
- Strong relationship building skills and confidence managing various stakeholders.
- Target driven with excellent organisation and time management capabilities, demonstrating an ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
- Effective project-management skills, with proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of writing applications for charitable trust grants is highly desirable.
- A detailed understanding of the fundraising landscape across Newcastle is highly desirable.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) and digital content creation software such as Canva and Adobe InDesign, for professional settings.
- Experience in a fundraising or sales-based role.

Salary: Baseline salary as of March 2024 is £42,248 pro rata (£33,791 at 4 days a week) and is subject to Platform’s Socially Just Waging System.

Job Purpose:
The Fundraising and Administration Officer role primarily focuses on providing excellent supporter care and administrative support within the fundraising department. Supporter Care:

• Work with the Head of Philanthropy and Fundraising Manager to support the completion of grant applications for corporate foundations, using the Fundraising Manager as a point of expertise ensuring that reporting requirements for grants and donations are met.
• Working with your Corporate Partnership Coordinators, research and drive new opportunities for high-value multi-year commitments. Support the CEO and Head of Philanthropy in pitching those relationships where appropriate.
Identify potential funders within the current corporate volunteer pool and work closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Fundraising Manager to convert corporate support into income generation to meet agreed upon targets.
• Develop new partnership leads using personal networks and networks within Action Tutoring’s staff team and volunteer pool, including supporting the Programme Team in cultivating partnerships with corporations in their local areas.
• Proactively engage partners in supporting us through fundraising activities, such as challenges and events, match-funding campaigns and pay-roll giving schemes.
• With your Corporate Partnership Coordinators, prepare and deliver presentations and information sessions that encourage colleagues of Corporate Partners to join us as volunteer tutors or support us financially.
• Oversee your Corporate Partnerships Coordinators to lead corporate volunteer recruitment, ensuring agreed targets for corporate volunteers are met.
• Ensure the development of clear and compelling marketing materials to engage corporate organisations, alongside maintaining the partnership areas of our website.
• Line management of two Corporate Partnerships Coordinators, ensuring workload is fairly distributed and supporting their development.
• Represent Action Tutoring at relevant meetings and events.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping of corporate partnerships and relationships on Salesforce and any other relevant systems.
• Any other ad hoc responsibilities as deemed relevant by the CEO.

This role requires an ambitious and innovative individual with outstanding interpersonal skills. Engaging corporate partners both in-person and online, you’ll be a confident presenter with exceptional written and verbal communication. Working within a passionate team, and with a multitude of corporate partners from different sectors, you’ll be an excellent collaborator who has a keen eye for opportunities and strong initiative. With a successful track-record of developing and stewarding corporate funding and/or volunteering partnerships, you’ll have knowledge of great engagement strategies, activities and initiatives.
Qualifications criteria:
• A*-C in maths and English at GCSE (or equivalent experience).
• Right to work in the UK.
We are looking for some of the following attributes, though you might be more experienced in some areas than others:
• Minimum two years experience in leading on growing and managing successful corporate partnerships.
• A track record successfully engaging organisations with either fundraising and/or volunteering opportunities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication with excellent interpersonal skills.
You will be likely be more successful in this role if you have:
• You have a proven track record of developing and stewarding fruitful corporate partnerships within the charity sector.
• You have a passion for educational inequality/working within the Third Sector.
• Line management experience.
• Experience working within a charity with a turnover of £3M or more.
