The role of Sales & Guest Booking Officer
Following our recent expansion, we can now welcome over 105 guests at a time. That means even more thrilling adventures, unforgettable experiences, and a bigger, stronger team — and we want you to be part of it.
This role supports Calvert Devon’s strategy to raise awareness of our products and services, initially focusing on schools and large group bookings . You’ll be responsible for responding promptly to inbound enquiries, while also managing a portfolio of outbound leads to generate new business. Working closely with teams across Calvert Devon, you’ll help shape bespoke breaks that meet customer needs. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key account holders will be essential to encourage repeat bookings and long-term partnerships.
What you will need
Essential:
- A self-motivated approach with a strong drive to achieve targets
- Experience of working within a sales environment
- Comfortable with working to Key Performance Indicators
- Experience of working to targets – individual, team and organisational.
- The ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes
- Creative thinking to design solutions that meet customer requirements

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convert leads into bookings
- Proven administration experience with strong organisational skills and the ability to work under your own initiative and manage your own workload effectively

- To enjoy working as part of a close-knit team
- Competent in using: Microsoft Office – including Word, Excel and Outlook (advanced level desirable)

- Your own means of transport due to our location
- To be a competent swimmer and able to dive to the bottom of a shallow 1.3metre pool
Desirable:
- Experience within the education and/outdoor education sector
- Travel sector experience
- Knowledge of the Cinolla booking system or other similar CRM system
The successful applicant will be required to undergo and successfully pass the following training:
- Pool Responder (must be able to dive to the bottom of a shallow 1.3metre pool)
- First Aid
- Safeguarding
- Must be office-based, with some regional travel requirements
- All our roles require either an enhanced or basic DBS check relevant to the role.

Job details
Full-time 37.5 hours per week, predominantly Monday to Friday. Some evening and/or weekend work may be required in line with business needs.

Candidates applying must have a D1 Minibus licence.
You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis Monday to Friday, working 40 hours per week, 8:00am- 5:00pm Monday to Friday (Part-Time, Relief hours are also available). In return, as our Driver you will receive a competitive salary of £25,000 per annum.

You will also be responsible for keeping vehicles clean, roadworthy, and ready for each trip.
The service will cover daytimes and will include leisure activities i.e. swimming, community visits, bowling, museums, local parks/farm trips, in house activities including drama and virtual sessions.
Applicants need to demonstrate a good understanding of the importance of empowerment and choice to individuals and their independence.
You will have excellent communication skills and be able to work alongside a passenger assistant member.
You will have a caring and calming nature.
Be willing to have an enhanced DBS and medical check completed.

The Community Fundraising Manager is an exciting role at MDUK, that will sit within the Fundrasing Team. This role is central to building relationships, engaging local communities, and driving fundraising initiatives across the region. Being based in or regularly present in Northern Ireland is essential to effectively deliver on the role’s objectives and maintain close connections with supporters and stakeholders.
In Community Fundraising we are the team that builds relationships with our supporters, families, and event participants to fundraise so that MDUK can continue to find treatments and ultimately cures through research, and to drive improvements in care and quality of life.
In this small but close team there are four other Community Fundraising Managers covering the rest of the UK and a Senior Manager who can support you and the rest of the team in delivering an excellent supporter journey to deliver the charities aims.
You will build relationships and manage both supporters and volunteers within the local community creating an impact by maximising financial contributions and raising awareness of fundraising for Muscular Dystrophy UK.
You will need a flexible approach to your working hours as the role may require some evening and weekend work.

NICE is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of people with movement disorders. We work with children and adults affected by neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s, Stroke and MS. We push the boundaries of human potential for people living with these physical disabilities by teaching them, through Conductive Education, a range of skills that promote an active lifestyle and showing them that there can be life after diagnosis.
This is an exciting time to join NICE, as we begin to plan for our 40th Anniversary year and build on our existing fundraising strategy to grow our supporter base and develop new income streams to support the expansion of our services. We have a small but successful fundraising team in place, who work collaboratively to manage fundraising activity and meet agreed income targets.
We are looking for a candidate who can engage our families and individual and community supporters, compellingly convey the need for, and impact of, the work we do. The post holder will work closely with the CEO, Fundraising Manager, the rest of the fundraising team as well as other teams across the organisation, not forgetting our amazing families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate income across an agreed range of community fundraising initiatives and events
- Steward supporters to help maximise income and future support to the charity
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with our families and community supporters
- Be committed to helping disadvantaged children and adults
Requirements:
- Previous fundraising and income generation experience
- Experience in supporter stewardship
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire supporters
Due to the nature of our work, it is recommended that you work from our office in Moseley, Birmingham, the majority of the time. However, some hybrid working will be considered.

Do you have the drive, ambition and the desire to make positive change, promote and engage existing and new supporters whilst being a natural problem solver?
The successful applicant will have the autonomy to lead their fundraising team, being involved from overseeing individual donations through to corporate funding and be the drive behind transporting the charity to new heights.
To be successful for an interview you should have:

- Experience and a strong track record of writing and securing grants.
- Experience sourcing, securing and stewarding donors, funders, and supporters.
- Experienced in producing captivating press releases, cases for support, letters, appeals and other fundraising content, adapting your approach as needed.
- Skill set to build relationships internally and externally, motivate colleagues and volunteers.
- Ability to set and meet fundraising targets and of income and expenditure budget management.
