Victim Support is looking for a Case Manager to work within our Norfolk Scams Prevention Service as part of our Norfolk and Suffolk Victim Care service based in Norwich. This is a two-year fixed term contract.
Victim Support (VS) is an independent charity for people affected by crime in England and Wales. We work towards a world where people affected by crime or traumatic events get the support they need and respect they deserve.
As Case Manager you will be expected to provide a high quality, support service to the most vulnerable victims of complex crimes, in particular Scams and Fraud. Acting as the single point of contact for victims through the criminal justice and recovery process, you will deliver support and interventions where required, while providing support to prevent them becoming a repeat victim of Scams. You will act as an advocate on behalf of the victim and co-ordinate the support services required by external agencies.
The main duties of this role include: Triage and prioritising cases for the most vulnerable victims of fraud as defined by set criteria, needs and risk assessments and developing tailored support and recovery plans for all victims to enable them to cope and recover from their experiences. To, build and maintain links with organisations that can assist in meeting any additional needs of vulnerable victims of Scams and Fraud and co-ordinate the delivery of multi-agency support services in line with victims needs and to demonstrate positive behaviours which reflect our policies and values.

Seasonal Beach Nesting Bird Field Officer

We have three seasonal opportunities to work with volunteers and locals along the stunning east Norfolk coastline protecting little terns and ringed plovers. Successful candidates will spend the summer 2021 breeding season undertaking practical conservation work and species monitoring, alongside public engagement.
What are these roles about?
These roles will be assisting an amazing team of volunteers to protect little tern colonies and ringed plovers along the east Norfolk coastline, mainly; Winterton-on-sea and Eccles-on-sea.
These colonies are some of the most important for supporting the UK population of little terns in the country, regularly supporting over 200 nesting pairs. Without dedicated protection from wardens and volunteers, these vulnerable seabirds would struggle to rear their chicks. By supporting the terns to fledge their chicks, you would be making a real difference to the UK population and help to address the decline numbers.
There are three positions currently available:
- Field Officer position 1 from 1st April- 1st October.
This role is for 6 months, this individual will focus on supporting the kestrel volunteer team, the wider volunteer team and finding novel ways to engage the public in a Covid-safe way, occasional night-wardening may be required.
Key activities specific to this role include:
- Support and recruit volunteers to deliver effective conservation throughout the breeding season.
- Support and lead the kestrel volunteer team to locate active kestrel nests near the little tern colonies and then oversee diversionary feeding techniques to reduce aerial predation.
- Assist the Project Officer to identify and implement novel ways of engaging the public in a Covid-safe way to reduce disturbance on the nesting birds and bring the members of the public closer to nature.
- Assist the volunteer teams in setting up and taking down colony infrastructure to provide protection for the nesting birds.
- Create engaging and creative content to reach a diverse range of audiences for traditional and modern communications.
- Field Officer position 2 & 3 from the 15th April – 15th August.
These roles are for 4 months, the individuals will focus on supporting the volunteer team to help build their confidence, and lead in monitoring and protection of beach nesting birds, night-wardening will be a minor part of the role.
Key activities specific to this role include:
- Warden the colonies in shifts, including night-wardening, to prevent large disturbance or predation events alongside a growing team of volunteers.
- Support the volunteers monitoring the little tern colony to help build their confidence as well as providing essential insight on predation or disturbance issues.
- Engage with the public in a Covid-safe way to help educate visitors and ultimately reduce disturbance on the nesting birds through greater public awareness.
- Support the kestrel volunteer team to locate active kestrel nests near the little tern colonies and implement diversionary feeding techniques to reduce aerial predation.
What do we need from you?
Essential
- Understanding of ecology, survey methods and seabird conservation measures.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and balance a diverse workload despite high pressure.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentational), including an ability to be diplomatic and speak confidently to members of the public.
Desirable
- Excellent knowledge of little terns/ringed plovers and general coastal species ecology.
- Experience of general public engagement work.
- Experience of working with local communities.
- Experience working alongside and developing volunteers (or staff) including evidence of ability to provide training and mentoring.
- Experience of working with land managers on conservation interventions would be favourable.

Mpower Norwich
Mpower provides intensive and goal-oriented support to women with highly complex needs whose children have been removed into care. As Practitioner, you will do this by taking a relational approach that centres around the needs of each woman.
You will work with a high level of independence and self-direction, managing the subtleties of professional boundaries and confidently using a flexible approach where work with different women can go in a range of directions and last for varying lengths of time.
Ultimately, your work will enable women who have experienced complex trauma to make meaningful change, rebuild their lives, and reduce the number of children being removed into care.
You will be joining a service that has been running successfully for seven years and is going through an exciting period of consolidation and expansion.
