The Individual Giving Officer will play a crucial role in nurturing relationships with individuals, to give their donations and their time, to make a difference to the people with dyslexia that we support.

You will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies to attract, retain, and upgrade individual donors, ensuring a steady and growing stream of funding and support for the charity.

We are a dynamic, growing charity who are committed to further increasing our reach and impact over the next 5 years. Our aim is to double the number of beneficiaries we support, and particularly to assist significantly more people who are from lower-income backgrounds. 

Main duties and responsibilities

· Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with individual donors to maximize financial support and our community of supporters.

· Plan and execute individual giving campaigns, across all available communication channels to engage donors effectively.

· Identify, organise and coordinate donor and community events, creating opportunities to engage, retain and celebrate supporters.

· Maintain accurate donor records, utilising data to inform decision-making and improve fundraising efforts.

· Prepare regular reports and analysis on individual giving performance.

· Contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive individual giving strategy.

· Ensure activities are delivered to budget and performance effectively tracked.

· Provide a monthly report to the Head of Fundraising

· Work closely with the Head of Fundraising, Trusts Fundraiser, PR & Communications Officer, Fundraising Administrator and CEO, and liaise with the rest of the charity’s team.

· Compliance: maintain accurate records in accordance with data protection and fundraising regulations.

· Strategy: play a part in assisting the Head of Fundraising and Chief Executive in developing the Fundraising Strategy, budget and targets in line with the charity’s Strategic Plan.

· Provide support with events and admin as needed, including attendance at functions outside of normal working hours.  

Ideal skills and experience:

· Experience in generating income from all or one or two of the following: individual, community and events fundraising. 

· Excellent written communication skills with a proven ability to write compelling stories and innovative content for fundraising campaigns.

· A strong understanding of the importance of knowing your supporter base to maximise income through effective donor communication and engagement.

· Strong data management and analysis skills

· Good knowledge of current data protection/GDPR regulation.

· Good working knowledge of CRM databases and how to utilise to steward supporters.

· Good level of administrative and organisational competency

· Good IT skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, databases (currently Donorfy and Act!)

·Previous experience working in a charity/non-profit

· Willingness to attend events and meetings etc, for which expenses will be paid.

About Schoolreaders:

Schoolreaders was launched ten years ago in Bedfordshire with the aim of recruiting volunteers to provide one-to-one reading support for children in primary schools across the country. Over 22,000 children in over 1000 schools are receiving weekly reading sessions from a Schoolreaders volunteer. One in four children are leaving primary school unable to read to the expected Government standard. Our service is needed more than ever before with 1 in 6 primary schools across the country asking Schoolreaders for reading volunteers. Background to School Food Matters

School Food Matters (SFM) exists to teach children about food and to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their time at school. We provide fully funded food education programmes to schools. Our experience delivering these programmes informs and strengthens our campaigns, bringing the voices of children, parents and teachers to government policy.

Healthy Zones programme

Healthy Zones supports primary, secondary and special schools to create a food environment that puts young people's health centre stage. We are working with schools to develop food policies and to improve the food served in their breakfast and after school clubs. The programme uses a whole school approach through hands-on engagement with students, staff, kitchen teams, governors and parents.

Job Purpose

· To promote, develop and deliver the Healthy Zones programme across schools in Southwark and Lambeth

· Support with the expansion of the Healthy Zones programme across other regions in England

Key Tasks include:

•  Recruit schools to take part in Healthy Zones
• Complete food audits in schools looking across the whole school day (training provided)
• Develop and deliver healthy after school club and breakfast club modules (convene working groups in schools, run simple food preparation engagement sessions (training provided), empower student voice, build relationships with the after-school club staff)
• Develop food policy improvements in schools in our six key areas by building relationships with staff, and engaging students, parents and governors
• Build relationships and work closely / maintain relationships with teachers, teaching assistants, cooks and senior leaders in primary and secondary schools in Lambeth and Southwark to improve the food they offer their students
• Build and support relationships with contacts in partner organisations/LAs, and deliver training where necessary
• Collecting data and maintaining accurate records relating to the programme in Airtable
• Work closely with our Evaluation Manager to complete all monitoring and evaluation

Education should be the means to break the link between demographics and destiny. Yet every week 109 children in England – equivalent to three full classrooms – are asked to leave their schools and never come back, with disastrous personal and societal consequences. The Difference, a young education charity, was founded to change the story on this lost learning. It exists to build the status and expertise of teachers working with vulnerable children, particularly those who are excluded from mainstream schools.

By 2030, The Difference want rates of exclusion and absence to be falling nationally and for schools to be better equipped to support all children, including those who may be vulnerable.

The organisation was born out of a year of research into school exclusions with think-tank IPPR. This research identified a lack of inclusion expertise in schools and proposed a new leadership development programme to fill this gap. In 2018, The Difference founder Kiran hired the team who took this idea from concept to reality, beginning work with our first schools.

The Difference is now a 22-strong team delivering multiple school leadership programmes, alongside a growing research and policy arm. The team is supported by our Youth Advisory Board, made up of young people who have experienced exclusion and who provide their expertise and insights on how school inclusion work should be done. This work is needed more than ever. Effects of COVID-19, coupled with the spiralling cost of living, have substantially increased levels of vulnerability. Schools serving excluded pupils face under-funding. The Difference has had excellent early impact but there is work ahead to capture this, share learning with schools and policy-makers, and grow our capacity to lower exclusions across England.

Our first permanent Head of Fundraising will drive the growth and sustainability of our fundraising function. Having proved the impact on exclusions via our programmes, you will help us generate the income to scale this success across the country. We need an expert fundraiser to support this journey. Key Responsibilities

• Drive the delivery of a new fundraising strategy for The Difference, motivating and involving key members of the team, particularly the Development and Impact Manager.
• Build and manage a dynamic portfolio of around 20-30 major individual prospects and donors with capacity to give £50k+, working with key stakeholders to solicit and close asks.
• Grow overall fundraised income from £1.25m to £1.9m annually in next 3 years.
• Write and submit funding proposals to major donors, trusts and foundations, and corporate supporters.

As the Research Analyst you will support the provision and development of UCEA’s pay and workforce benchmarking services and a range of wider employment-related projects. You will communicate complex information clearly, both in writing and verbally. Our programme supporting Higher Technical Education has big ambitions. Known as the ‘missing middle’ of higher education in England, we want to see the declines in level 4 and 5 technical education reversed and more providers emerge who can offer high-quality education and training to help people access highskilled occupations. Key to this transformation is the role of Institutes of Technology (IoTs) – collaborations between further education colleges, universities and employers – and we have been working closely with the National Network of Institutes of Technology to support their success. We are looking for a Project Officer to play an integral part in the successful delivery of this programme, as well as becoming an advocate for Higher Technical Qualifications more broadly. 

This role sits within the small Higher Education Team at Gatsby, and you will work closely with the Project Manager and Director of Programmes to: develop and deliver a range of projects to support our programme objectives; represent Gatsby at external meetings; organise meetings and events; and develop strong working relationships with key partners.

Key Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver projects to support Gatsby’s Higher Technical Education programme, with clear objectives and planning, delivering outputs on time and within budget.
• Research, create and write compelling communications that support programme objectives.

As second most senior leader in the charity, the Deputy Director will provide leadership to the First Give team and support the Board of Trustees and Director with strategy and governance. 

The Deputy Director will play an integral role in the development of the charity as we move into our second decade. They will spearhead our fundraising, communications and marketing to ensure the charity has the capacity to deliver against our strategic goals.

Key responsibilities 

Organisational Leadership and line management 

• Deputise for the Director when necessary 

• Provide leadership and positive role modelling to the First Give team 

• Support organisation-wide improvements and innovation, including strategic planning and organisational structure

• Work with the Director and Head of Programmes to create opportunities for young people to influence and engage with our work and impact

Fundraising 

• Work with the Director and consultants to own and implement a robust fundraising strategy to support the organisation as it executes its new strategic plan 

• Develop processes for managing fundraising applications and stewardship of existing funders and supporters 

• Write and submit high quality, inspiring and tailored funding applications and reports for trusts and foundations (expected to be in the region of £10,000-150,000) 

• Identify and develop potential new funding opportunities for First Give, including major donors and corporate funders 

• Manage relationships with a set number of key funders, ensuring that we proactively seek feedback, engagement and involvement in our work 

New School Partner Recruitment 

• Oversee and co-ordinate all new school partner recruitment sales and marketing activity 

• Work with our marketing agency to develop and implement marketing campaigns 

• Support the Programmes Team to recruit new partner schools in priority regions 

• Proactively seek opportunities for growth of the First Give partners network 

• Develop and design and production of marketing and sales resources to support all sales activity 

• You may also be required to deliver sales meetings with networks including Headteacher meetings and attend conferences to promote the work of the charity 

Communications 

• Lead the development and manage the delivery of our communications strategy, including all messaging to key stakeholders via a range of appropriate channels, including newsletters, social media and our website 

• Be responsible for the First Give website, ensuring it is up to date, relevant and meets the needs of the organisation 

• Brand champion, ensuring that all external communications and resources are aligned with our brand identity and tone of voice 

• Management of retainer with external design agency

The Ian Karten Charitable Trust is looking for a home-based, self-employed administrator to cover the current incumbent who is going on maternity leave in July 2024.  The Trust is a grant making trust focused on disability and education.

The role is very flexible; hours required are generally between 8 and 16 per month. With the exception of two trustee meetings annually, which usually take place at mutually agreed times during office hours, most of the work can be carried out according to the postholder’s individual commitments and availability.

The administrator will report to the Chair of Trustees, and will be responsible for ensuring that the administrative processes necessary for the running of the Trust are smooth and efficient. This will include monitoring emails and communicating with grantees, processing payments, preparing and distributing papers for trustee meetings, taking minutes at trustee meetings and following up on agreed actions, and ensuring any necessary documentation is kept up to date. About TASO

The Centre for Transforming Access and Student Outcomes in Higher Education (TASO) is an affiliate What Works Centre, and part of the UK Government’s What Works Movement. TASO was set up in 2019 and became an independent charity in April 2021. The Role

The Head of Communications and Engagement will lead TASO’s communications and engagement work plan to raise the profile of the organisation. They will also lead on TASO’s evidence mobilisation work plan, working with the Chief Executive, to ensure TASO’s research and evaluation outputs are effectively disseminated. 

This will involve ensuring a strategic approach to all communications activities, leading on the delivery of external-facing materials and publications, overseeing a vibrant social media presence and events programme. The role will have overall responsibility for a website redevelopment project over the next year. 

• Ensure a strategic and effective approach to communications, dissemination and stakeholder engagement.

• Lead on the design, branding and dissemination of innovative and engaging communications – both print and online, including oversight of the editorial and publication process for all TASO research reports and resources. 

• Lead on TASO’s evidence mobilisation plan, working with the Chief Executive and Research and Evaluation Team to ensure research outputs are effectively disseminated and achieve impact.

• Support the Chief Executive on delivering TASO’s policy aims. Lead on engagement with and monitoring of Westminster activities (e.g. select committees, reports, consultations) and liaise with key communications and policy stakeholders in the Department for Education, Office for Students and other relevant bodies.

• Take overall responsibility for TASO’s online and social media presence. This will involve overseeing a critical website redevelopment project over the next year and also includes oversight of the creation, upkeep and management of digital channels and content.

• Lead on TASO’s media relations, producing high quality press releases and news stories for the website, liaising with journalists, as appropriate.

• Lead on the delivery of a programme of stakeholder engagement events for a wide range of audiences. The events will range from small training sessions to larger events including publication launches and an annual conference.

• Provide line management for communications staff who will support all activities – including two direct reports and overseeing a team of three.
