Corporate Fundraising Manager Jobs

The Community Fundraising team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals, regional businesses and groups fundraising in the community, effectively managing relationships to maximise income.

The Regional Fundraising Officer role will play a significant part in contributing to a high-performing fundraising team. The role will cover the Kent and Sussex region.

You will report to the Community Fundraising Manager and support the Head of Regional Fundraising to drive the continued growth of the charity’s community fundraising income in your area. You will also be required to show excellent relationship-building skills to support community partnerships and volunteer groups, driving towards agreed targets.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract, or on return of the substantive post holder, to cover a period of maternity leave.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Strategy, finance, and reporting

· Responsibility for 3 income streams within the Kent and Sussex region including corporate, community groups and Do It Yourself (DIY) fundraising.

· Identify and apply for ‘Charity of the Year’ partnerships with corporates in the region, account manage these relationships up to a value of £50,000 per annum and support the Partnership Development Team with partnerships in your region with a value of up to £100,000.

· Support existing volunteer fundraisers to encourage continued loyalty to the charity and to maximise funds raised, following fundraising legislation and good practice.

· Recruit new fundraising supporters in line with strategy.

· Support the Community Fundraising Manager (CFM) and Head of Regional Fundraising (HORF) in developing the Community Fundraising strategy for ARUK to increase income within this stream.

· Support and extend volunteer networks within the geographical area in line with strategy.

· To ensure that fundraising activity is implemented and managed locally to deliver budgets, targets and income in line with strategy. To achieve this by supporting and facilitating the development of groups and volunteers across the geographical area.

· Work across a diverse geographical area and within a geographically dispersed team, whilst managing own workload cost-effectively and proactively.

Supporter Management

· Provide excellent customer service to community fundraising supporters (including maintaining a polite, enthusiastic manner with prompt responses to enquiries), to acknowledge support and increase long-term loyalty.

· Provide high-quality account management to volunteer groups in geographical area.

· Effective management of volunteer relationships within geographical area.

· Support, motivate and develop local fundraising volunteers, ensuring they have a clear understanding of ARUK to enable them to represent the charity’s work effectively.

· In liaison with the Partnership Development Managers and Partnership Development Officers, provide high-quality account management to corporate supporters within the specified geographical area and/or of relevant value.

· Keep up to date with fundraising legislation and codes of practice to be able to provide relevant advice to fundraisers.

· Ensure volunteers and fundraisers have all necessary materials for fundraising initiatives.

Increasing Community Support within geographical area

· Use own initiative to extend volunteer networks, develop new groups and supporters, and respond to fundraising opportunities within the geographical area, in line with strategy.

· Run volunteer events with both a recruitment and cultivation function, liaising closely with the Stewardship and Events team to ensure a seamless supporter journey, and with the Press team to include media volunteers.

· Manage the recruitment process of new ARUK volunteers in the geographical area, providing relevant support and training.

· Liaise with local community organisations (e.g., golf clubs, educational institutions etc.) – both previous and new potential supporters – to extend income and activity in line with the strategy.

· Initiate and roll out community fundraising events in the geographical area with evidence of effective ROI and achievement of strategic goals.

· Provide face-to-face talks and presentations to community organisations for recruitment/ cultivation purposes.

· Arrange appropriate volunteer representation at events in the community (for example, for cheque collections and talks), spreading the charity’s reach cost-effectively.

· Identify, research and target prospective community organisations, in liaison with CFM.

· Identify, research and target prospective local corporates in liaison with CFM / HORF and ARUK’s Partnership Development Managers and Partnership Development Officers, in line with both community and corporate strategies.

· Accurately track and record contact with both community and corporate prospects for planning and reporting purposes.

Monitoring and Reporting

· Ensure that your activity is monitored and evaluated, clearly communicating progress to your Community Fundraising Manager.

· Manage relevant information on the charity’s database, keeping detailed, up-to-date records of activity and income.

What we are looking for:

· Experience in partnership fundraising and/or relationship-building.

· Experience in public speaking, such as giving presentations and talking at events.

· Knowledge of recruiting key volunteers and fundraising supporters.

· Experience and a keen interest in building long-term relationships with supporters.

· Proven ability to provide excellent stewardship.

· An ability to manage a busy and varied workload.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Excellent organisational skills.

· Full driver’s license with access to own vehicle. 

· Flexibility to work some unsocial hours and willingness to travel independently.

· Live within Kent and Sussex region.

Ways of working: As part of our Remote ways of working you will be home based. You will only need to attend the office for specific requirements of the role and the business needs.

Roles that are classed as part of the Remote ways of working are able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals.  This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

Senior Fundraiser

Friends of Ibba Girls School, South Sudan (UK charity number 1146220)

Friends of Ibba Girls School, South Sudan (FIGS), was established in 2011 in response to a specific request from local community leaders to help them build and develop a girls’ residential school in South Sudan.  Ibba Girls Boarding School (IGBS) now educates 360 primary and secondary school girls from across the whole of Western Equatoria State and employs 40 staff (teachers, matrons, cooks and other support staff). The school is on a large, green campus and provides not only high-quality teaching but a visible demonstration of the benefits of school education in South Sudan, where most girls leave school before the end of primary and very few achieve secondary qualifications.  FIGS is a relatively small organization but it is making a substantial impact by providing a model of good quality girls’ schooling across South Sudan.

FIGS has achieved notable successes – the school which opened in 2014, initially with 40 girls, has now reached its full size of 360 girls, with excellent exam results and has reduced dropout from school. It is nurturing empowered women who can exercise leadership locally and nationally for this newly independent nation. FIGS works closely with the experienced and widely-acclaimed Windle Trust International, who provide technical financial and organizational support to the school in South Sudan. 

FIGS has raised about £4 million over the last 10 years, particularly through relational fundraising.  Running costs for a boarding school in South Sudan are around £ 1/3 million each year, so fundraising is a key task for FIGS.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced fundraiser with a strong and demonstrable track record to play a crucial role in expanding the donor base of FIGS, while sustaining and engaging the large network of existing supporters and donors.  You will lead the fundraising work and will use your skills across a wide range of fundraising functions, including expanding the number and range of individuals, corporates, philanthropists, schools, churches, legacies and trusts. 

We need the help of a talented individual to implement FIGS’ fundraising strategy and action plan, working with those Trustees who are able to give some time to fundraising and with solid help from a part-time fundraising consultant.  There is plenty to enjoy in the varied work, where one can see visible results in the impact it has on the school, its students and staff, parents and communities across Western Equatoria State and across the nation of South Sudan.

The post can be undertaken on a full-time or part-time basis (where part-time is at least 3 days a week).  It will be on a self-employed consultancy basis.  Hours can be flexible by arrangement. The person will work mainly from home, liaising online with Trustees and others, but some travel to events in London and elsewhere will be needed on an occasional basis. We are looking for someone to start as soon as mutually convenient. A contract will be one year in the first instance, and can be renewed subject to satisfactory performance.  The remuneration as a self-employed person is in the range of £35-42K dependent on track record and experience (or pro rata). 

Key responsibilities

· To support the delivery of the fundraising plan, achieving or exceeding targets and KPIs, both financial and non-financial as agreed with the Chair of FIGS Trustees and Chair of its fundraising group.

· To identify and generate new fundraising opportunities, from the corporate and philanthropic sectors, as well as from organizations, groups and individuals

· To widen the existing network of donors, based on relationship development and management and engagement with existing supporters and donors, and creating new opportunities

· To generate a pipeline of activities across a range of fund-raising streams

· Develop strong relationships with all external stakeholders. 

· Produce progress reports for FIGS Trustees about fundraising in relation to targets and budget and make recommendations for future streams of work.

· Attend key fundraising and supporter events to generate significant income, support and profile.

Your role will be to research and monitor a pipeline of prospects, and work with the team to update and steward current donors, also identify and research new prospects and community and corporate partners. Secret World Wildlife Rescue (SWWR) exists to relieve the suffering of British wildlife, to encourage respect and tolerance for wildlife and to further its conservation. SWWR strives to do this by:

This role will also be responsible for enhancing the reach and value of legacy fundraising at SWWR and building strong relationships with corporate supporters to help secure the financial sustainability of the Charity. 

Our Fundraising Manager is responsible for planning and preparing all fundraising and grants working alongside all departments to ensure projects are fulfilled from inception to fruition. The post holder takes care of medium- to long-term activities,  budgeting, planning and strategy, as well as being responsive to emerging opportunities and adapting to change. The Fundraising Manager is also the main point of contact for new and existing supporters, providing support and stewardship to the amazing individuals and organisations who want to help wildlife.

Alongside the above, the Fundraising Manager will also provide support to the current fundraising personnel and activities at SWWR, coordinating and supporting a range of tasks and functions to aid in the smooth running of the Charity.

SWWR’s annual operational costs are approximately £900,000. The majority of funding is raised through supporter donations, fundraising events, trading activities and legacies.

Summary

The Wikimedia Foundation is the non-profit organization that operates Wikipedia – one of the most popular websites in the world, viewed 15 billion times every month. It is the only non-profit in the top 10 most visited global websites, supported by a community of millions of individual donors around the world.  Alongside the Wikimedia Foundation, our movement is composed of affiliate organizations, independent organizations established to support volunteers in a specific language, region or topic. Affiliates are funded by the Wikimedia Foundation, and some in independent fundraising to support their activities.

The Wikimedia Foundation seeks a Fundraising Training Consultant to work with Wikimedia affiliates to grow and develop their fundraising processes and capacity. In this one-year, 30 hour/week contract role (with potential option for renewal) you will be responsible for working with affiliates to understand their fundraising needs and challenges, and to provide them strategic guidance and support as they put in place necessary structures and processes that will aid their fundraising efforts. This role will focus on building the capacity of affiliates to raise funds from a variety of new-to-the-movement donors, including government, multinational and multilateral funding opportunities, and local high networth individuals, as well as advising on systems and structures (e.g. Board composition) for strategic fundraising.

With affiliates located around the globe, the person in this role will need to be skilled in relationship management and cross-cultural communication. This role involves close collaboration with affiliate fundraisers and leadership.  You will report to the Major Gifts Stewardship Manager (Fundraising) and work closely with the Vice President of Community Growth. This is a one-year contract and remote role that offers flexible scheduling with a commitment of 30 hours per week.

As a result of your efforts, our affiliate partners will be better equipped to engage in independent fundraising.

You are responsible for:

• Training: Provide learning opportunities for affiliate staff to build their skills around mid-level and major gift fundraising.
• Coaching and Advising: Advise on developing strategies to maximize fundraising potential and impact, including grant writing, event fundraising, other fundraising methods and donor stewardship.
• Strategic Support: Provide strategic advice to individual affiliates on board development.  As appropriate, advise affiliates on the creation of additional fit-for-purpose systems and frameworks enable independent fundraising and foster long-term sustainability.
• Peer Sharing Facilitation: With the Lead Community Relations Specialist, organize and facilitate fundraising peer forums to encourage collaboration, sharing of best practices, and mutual support among affiliates.
• Liaising and Coordination: Act as a liaison between affiliate fundraising arms, fostering communication, collaboration, and alignment of fundraising efforts.

Skills and Experience

• Experience teaching and/or training nonprofit organizations on fundraising best practices, grant writing, and donor stewardship.
• Experience in a wide variety of fundraising techniques appropriate for non-US markets, including European government fundraising, Trusts and Foundations, Major Gifts, and Corporate Fundraising, preferably in a consulting or advisory capacity
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with best practices around donor data security.
• Commitment to the mission and values of the Wikimedia Foundation.

About This Job

ACCT UK launched its new name and brand in 2021 and we are now seeking a highly motivated Marketing Manager to continue the delivery of our engagement programme. As ACCT UK’s Marketing Manager, you will be key to helping the wider community to understand our charity and how it is distinct from the Army Cadets, a youth organisation we are closely linked to.

This is a rewarding and flexible role. The position is a permanent full time post (40 hours per week) which can be either home or office based. The successful applicant will be required to travel occasionally.  The full time starting annual salary for this post is £34,190.73.

ACCT UK is a national youth charity dedicated to improving the life chances of young people. Then this could be the role for you. At the Digital Poverty Alliance, we are looking for our new Development Manager. We need someone who can lead our development function whilst working alongside our CEO, managing a range of fundraising initiatives whilst also using sales techniques to raise awareness of our Industry Forum and school Donation Management Service (DMS).

This is an exciting, high profile and fast-paced role, joining our small team and working alongside partners, schools and our wider stakeholders to effect real change for people. You will report directly to the Chief Executive.

This is an exciting time to join us. Our work splits into two main areas – the first is advocacy and research, where we seek partnerships that will allow us to grow our nationwide campaigns and calls for action, as set out in the DPA’s National Delivery Plan.  The second, a growth area for us, is delivery of programmes that help real people – such as our Tech4 suite of initiatives, which support a range of beneficiaries, but commonly young people and families, to access kit, connectivity, skills and support, and our Donation Management Service which works on a school by school basis to ensure parental donations support year groups gain class-wide one to one devices.

The Development Manager will work with the CEO and our team to facilitate this growth in impact, understanding and influence and encourage new partnerships, while ensuring our donors and supporters feel informed and engaged.

As an initiative, the DPA aims to work through partners in delivering to our core mission and, as such, we retain only a small core team. As such, you’ll lead on the fundraising function and the DMS relationships, but work within a highly supportive team where income targets are shared.

Whilst the role is remote based, you will regularly need to attend in-person meetings and events in central London (daytime and evening), as well as undertaking travel across the UK. This will include supporting set up at conferences and events, and may include overnight stays.  A driving licence is not essential.

You will be ready to “roll up your sleeves” and get involved in other projects at times, as part of a small and dedicated team, and take on administrative and logistical tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Writing grant applications, bids and proposals to corporates, public sector and third sector organisations as part of formal and informal fundraising application processes.
• Secure new memberships to the Digital Poverty Alliance Industry Forum, a corporate membership scheme for businesses seeking to take action on digital poverty, working with the CEO and colleagues leading on policy and public affairs.
• Lead on bringing in new client schools for the DMS, growing the network of schools and families supported by and supporting this programme.
• Lead the account management process for schools who are part of our Donation Management Service (DMS) programme, retaining existing customers.
• Work with CEO and SMT to create and maintain strong fundraising partnerships with large and small organisations key to our work.
• Work with the CEO to spot new opportunities for initiatives with an eye to developing new corporate partnerships and sponsorships, whilst working within the resources of a small organisation.
• Identifying grant routes, commissioning opportunities, potential consultancy clients and donor opportunities, including prospect research.
• Iterate our fundraising strategy for increasing income, including developing new ideas to drive revenue.
• Provide support to the CEO who manages the largest strategic partnerships.
• Contribute to marketing, PR, social media and related communications activities in relation to partner activities and digital fundraising, including leading the marketing strategy for the DMS.
• Prepare high quality collateral and assets to support partnership working, including presentations and reports.
• Work with colleagues to role model best practice in partnership development.
• Project manage initiatives related to fundraising, using recognised tools and techniques.
• Maintain a strong understanding of the digital poverty landscape, including across policy, research and interventions, to inform partner development.

NB: This role will require attending meetings in London and travel across the UK, and may include occasional evening work or overnight stays.  As part of a small team, this will include attending conferences, exhibiting on behalf of the DPA, and supporting other events.

• Overseas Events: Represent the organisation at national & international conferences, networking with new and existing corporate donors in places such as San Diego, Madrid and Copenhagen.
