The North-West Regional Organised Crime Unit is a collaborative multi agency covert response to tackle serious and organised crime across the North-West Region.

The North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU) tackles serious organised crime across the North West region. The NWROCU carries out investigations into serious and organised crime on behalf of police forces in Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and North Wales. The lead force for NWROCU is Merseyside Police, with the Assistant Chief Constable of NWROCU reporting into Chief Constable Serena Kennedy.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Business Partner as a fully qualified accountant to provide pro-active professionally qualified support and guidance to budget holders for the financial management of the ROCU. This is an amazing opportunity to work for a regional unit, building close relationships across 6 Regional Forces, Home Office and the ROCU Network. As Merseyside Police are the Lead Force for the collaboration; the NWROCU follow lead force Financial Regulations and the successful post holder will build close working relationships with the Merseyside Finance Department.

The post is subject to an initial secondment of two years with extension subject to continued funding and performance. Successful applicants working within North-West Regional Organised Crime Unit will be subject to Management Vetting and enhanced SC Vetting prior to taking up post.

Job Description

As a Senior Finance Business Partner you will provide pro-active professionally qualified support and guidance to budget holders for the financial management of the ROCU. Assist the Head of Enabling Services in the provision of a professional financial planning, management and accounting service, maintaining the integrity of NWROCU's financial records, and developing new systems and processes to comply with legislation, with a clear focus on ensuring best use of resources based on sound and demonstrable financial reasoning.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with budget holders and senior managers, ensuring that needs of the budget holder are fully satisfied, and SLA's adhered to.
• Responsible for monitoring and reporting upon the financial position of units to relevant stakeholders using appropriate means of communication and methods of financial analysis to ensure an effective and efficient budget management service is provided. This will include attendance at key SLT/Command Team meetings as the finance expert.
• Provision of professional challenge, support and advice to budget holders over a wider range of subjects, with a clear focus on obtaining best value, and best use of resources for the Force. Ensuring compliance with financial regulations
• Review and monitor expenditure on supplies and services; and produce recommendations for improved efficiencies where appropriate for effective financial management of the NWROCU budget.
• Provide assistance with the preparation of the capital programme in order to determine the capital financing requirement of the NWROCU.
• Maintain the asset register and capital accounting records ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
• Provide technical input in the development of budget monitoring to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and to meet specific requirements of the NWROCU.
• Complete statutory returns and grant claims; prepare appropriate working papers to ensure the maintenance of financial accounts.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will:

• Be a Fully qualified CCAB Accountant.
• Have experience of working within a large and complex financial environment; with specific knowledge and experience of fulfilling a budget management role.
• Have advanced communication skills to deal effectively with a variety of potential stakeholders. This includes the ability to challenge devolved budget managers, and budget holders, present and disseminate financial information effectively to nonfinancial officers, and to present both verbal and written reports to Chief Officers and other stakeholders.
• Well-developed analytical skills, and the ability to pro-actively respond to financial issues as they arise.

The post holder will strategically plan and deliver promotional and stewardship activity, as well as ensuring provision of an excellent supporter experience, to achieve budget net income across these income streams and grow our active support base, including numbers of known supporters who would consider or have already pledged a gift in their Will to the Hospice.

The Legacy and In Memory Lead will work closely with the Individual Giving Lead to ensure appropriate coordination of planned activities involving existing and prospective individual giving, legacy and in memory audiences. The post holder will also work closely with the HODAR to help inform the development of departmental strategies.

The successful candidate will have significant demonstrable and relevant experience of in memory and/or legacy fundraising and developing in memory products. You will have experience in using a variety of on and offline channels to deliver successful marketing campaigns to both acquire and develop donors. You will have demonstrable experience of managing targets and income and expenditure budgets.

This is a permanent position with flexible hybrid working, based 4 days from their Essex offices. The salary is £28750.42 to £37,293.98 depending on experience.

This will include assisting in the delivery of Chuf's in Memory Giving strategy through maintaining donors and providing fantastic stewardship. You'll also help the Director of Fundraising to achieve Chuf 's legacy strategy by maximising income generation through gifts in wills. First and foremost, you'll be a Chuf Fundraiser; making sure supporters receive first-class supporter care.

The role.

This is an exciting role that sits on the senior leadership team with a significant amount of autonomy for an outstanding fundraiser and leader who is interested in further developing a fundraising function to eventually deliver c.£1.8m fundraising income per annum.

They are at a crucial stage in the evolution of their fundraising. Opened in 2019, our Youth Zone is founded on the OnSide funding model whereby the first four years of revenue is made possible primarily by major donors – Founder Patrons – who each committed a minimum of £25k pa for four years.

Now as they enter year five, they seek the continuation of this support and are in the initial stages of diversifying their income sources. They have also secured significant ringfenced funding to expand the fundraising team, and the incoming Director of Fundraising will have significant scope to shape the team around their vision and strategy. Successful achievement of goals and a sound strategy will allow for further growth in future years in order to sustain, diversify and enhance income.

You will ideally have brand managerial experience as you will be line managing three members of a high performing team. Salary: This is a Grade 10 role with a salary range that starts at £75,840pa. The offer will be

made commensurate with experience.

You will bring the professional expertise, credibility and personal qualities necessary to provide exceptional leadership for the Development and Alumni Relations team, and collaborate with academic and professional services colleagues, alumni, donors and key stakeholders to make our strategic intent a reality.  Your philanthropy experience, including designing successful cultivation and engagement strategies, and a significant track record of securing gifts, will help you to swiftly establish credibility across the University.  There is scope to review and adapt our current operations and programme of activity, and we are looking for someone excited by the opportunity to innovate and develop a fresh approach.  To succeed in this role, you will be an inspirational, inclusive, and collaborative leader with experience of leading and motivating teams, with a can-do attitude and flexible approach to achieving outstanding results.

An international charity supporting children and young people globally is currently seeking a Director of Finance 

Managing the day to day finance operations, you will work to support the wider charity in improving financial and management reporting and analysis. Partnering with the budget holders and the senior management team, you will prepare reports and advise on financial information and data to help inform operational and strategic financial decisions. Duties will include, but may not be limited to the following: 

• Oversight and management of the finance team
• Preparation and presentation of monthly reports including budgets, income and expenditure analysis and variance analysis (particularly for SMT and Trustee members). 
• Developing the charity's investment policies and advising on areas of risk 
• Hands-on finance support where necessary to cover any staff absences when applicable
• Oversight and management of year-end processes including liaising with auditors

What's in it for you?

• Competitive salary of £75,000 - £80,000 DOE. 
• Current trial of 4 day working week for full time pay
• Hybrid working - most team members opt to come in 1 day per week and the remainder remote (we are open to discussing alterantive working arrangements). Candidates looking for mostly remote working will be considered though it would be expected to be in the office initially for training at the start of the role. 
• Flexible working patterns and requests are encouraged

What we are looking for

• Qualified accountant with experience in senior finance roles within the charity sector
• Ability to work within a small finance team (including willingness to be 'hands-on' when required)
