The Development and Alumni Relations System (DARS) team is dedicated to enhancing the University's engagement with its alumni and donors through an advanced constituent relationship management system. Our team focuses on supporting this CRM system to drive fundraising and strengthen alumni relations, ensuring seamless collaboration and continuous improvement in our processes and user support.

About the Role

As a member of the User Engagement team, your role will be integral to supporting and enhancing the University's CRM system for development and alumni engagement. Key responsibilities include:

• User Training and Engagement: Develop and update training courses, create learning materials, and facilitate workshops to ensure effective user engagement with the DARS system.
• Business Process Improvement: Analyse and enhance business processes to optimize the functionality and efficiency of the DARS system.
• Support and Relationship Management: Provide comprehensive support through one-on-one coaching, project assistance, and managing key business partnerships to maintain strong collaborative relationships.

This is a new role, as we are looking to appoint our first Fundraising Manager.

Currently, we have a strong programme of Trust and Foundation fundraising, delivered by our CEO and functional managers, and a small programme of individual giving managed by our Communications and Campaigns team but no dedicated fundraising staff.

We are looking for an efficient fundraiser with an understanding of various fundraising strategies, from individual giving to trusts and foundations.

You will have to opportunity to build this role within a supportive and friendly organisation, and as part of our dynamic Communications and Campaigns Team.

Permanent, 35 hours per week, full-time (including some out of hours and weekends).  We offer hybrid working with the option to discuss flexible and compressed hours.  You would be expected to work on site at the Home for at least one day per week, with the option of remote work for the rest of the week.

This is an exciting opportunity for a major donor fundraiser to join CSW, to initiate and develop strong relationships with individuals and corporates who have the capacity to make significant donations to CSW and to steward these relationships towards deeper engagement with CSW year after year.

Major Gifts Manager, International Fundraising

The Major Gifts Manager, International Fundraising will support PETA’s global programmes by securing vital funding from new and existing supporters. This role will advance the fundraising potential of PETA France and PETA Netherlands and work closely with existing teams within the UK and Germany.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop a strategy for international for major gifts fundraising
• Manage and maintain a portfolio major gift donors and prospects, across PETA international entities
• Effectively steward donors and prospects
• Develop personal engagement plans for donors, using knowledge and insights to plan appropriate communications
• Solicit major financial contributions from targeted donors
• Manage a pipeline of prospects, creating engaging opportunities for donors to increase their giving to a higher level

The role sits within the Development team and will initiate and develop high value, long-lasting relationships with individual Major Donors, Philanthropists and Trusts and Foundations. Through managing a portfolio of prospects and donors, they will secure five- and six-figure donations in support of all areas of the National Gallery’s work, from Exhibitions to Learning and other unique programmes, as well as contributing to fundraising for the NG200 Bicentenary Campaign and its legacy.

Joining us, you should have:

• A demonstrable track record in securing Major Gifts of five-and-six figures from individual or Trust and Foundation donors, and successfully stewarding these relationships
• The ability to create and convey (in person and in writing) a compelling case for support, tailored to meet Major Donors' interests. This includes writing and presenting proposals and applications, and providing accompanying financial information

About the role

Smart Works exists to empower all women who need help getting into work. We are currently in a significant growth phase, doubling the number of women we support to 10,000 women a year by 2025. As such, we require vital cornerstone funding and are seeking to establish a Major Gifts function, to secure donations from high-net worth individuals, that will enable us to achieve our mission and help thousands of women to transform their lives.

This is an exciting new role that provides an opportunity to build a new major gifts programme from scratch. Supported by the Director of Partnerships, you will work closely with the CEO, Board, and our network of 750 volunteers, to develop a giving strategy that will engage and grow a new pool of crucial supporters for Smart Works.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of existing major donors, as well as conducting prospect research, developing bespoke stewardship materials, and securing five-figure and six-figure repeat gifts.

We seek an excellent communicator, with significant experience in influencing, negotiating and exceeding set targets. Creativity, an understanding of women’s fashion, and knowledge of wealth circles would also be advantageous.

Main duties and responsible 

• Prepare and write compelling applications to charitable trusts and foundations who have the capacity to make five and six figure gifts towards the charity’s work;
• Prepare and submit scheduled applications and reports to current funders, ensuring that we hit deadlines and develop relationships with the trusts and foundations currently supporting Villiers Park;
• In collaboration with the Senior Leadership team, and colleagues in Fundraising and Communications, create engaging and accurate reports to current funders that share the impact of their support, including trusts, major donors and university partners;

• Identify new prospects and propose engagement and cultivation strategies;

This is a maternity cover contract so the successful candidate will need to get up to speed quickly, taking over responsibility for delivering the new Major Donor fundraising plan. The successful candidate will have previous experience of managing high level relationships and a track record of securing high value (5 and 6 figure) donations or new business. Working Arrangements and Travel Requirements

Rainforest Trust UK staff work remotely and you will be expected to work primarily from home with an excellent internet connection. You may be based anywhere in the UK but you will be expected to work from a shared team space in London once a month, and your donor meetings/events are most likely to take place there.

The postholder will be required to host networking events and attend some online meetings with our partners in the U.S so some (early) evening working is required. We are also flexible as to how many hours this postholder works, and will consider a 3-5 day per week arrangement, depending on experience.

Role and Purpose 

To support the development and delivery of the Major Donor and Special Events strategy. To provide a high standard of support to the Major Donor and Special Events team with the current and growing event portfolio and colleagues managing major donor relationships.

Responsibilities: 

• Assisting the Head of Major Donors and Special Events and Special Events Manager in planning, marketing and delivery of our programme of Special Events 

• Sourcing prizes and maintaining a ‘bank’ of prizes with full and accurate information that can be used across events, delivering prize fulfilment with great stewardship for prize winners and in-kind donors 

• Supporting and nurturing strong event committees and senior volunteers providing exceptional volunteer engagement 

• Liaise with suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure events run smoothly and to budget

• Supporting the delivery of the Major Donors strategy and associated programmes of activity, growing the income generated from Major Donors both via events and outside of them 

• Supporting the development of a pipeline of prospects giving at a significant level, leading on prospect research of HNWIs 

• Delivering a consistent and compelling approach to stewardship, identifying stewardship opportunities suitable for major donors, developing positive and lasting relationships with supporters, members and event attendees 

• Preparing briefings and biographies for prospective donors attending events and in advance of meetings, supporting with follow up activity as requested 

• Be the day to day contact for Special Events and Major Donor enquiries 

• Coordinating the creation of materials and collateral for special event materials, major gift campaigns and approaches 

• Undertaking a range of administrative tasks and support across Special Events and Major Donors

• Ensuring all supporter records for events and major donor development plans are kept up to date

• Ensuring GDPR compliant processes and systems are in place to manage, monitor and provide management information for Major Donor and Special Event activity

We are seeking an experienced permanent Fundraising Manager for an experienced major donor fundraiser to make a significant difference and work in close partnership with both our Board of Trustees and the head office in London.  

The successful post holder will be forging relationships with local businesses, as well as researching and building a strong pipeline of grant funders and five and six-figure gifts from Trusts & Foundations, including core funding and restricted funding.

What you'll be doing

• Build excellent relationships with corporate and community partners, generating awareness and income for the centre, from a range of revenue streams, including grants, events and corporate fundraising
• Maintain an up-to-date database with relevant income tracking and pipeline data to facilitate regular KPI and financial reporting to the Board
• Develop and manage a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, cultivating relationships to secure substantial philanthropic gifts
• Project lead our flagship Cycle for Smart Works challenge, recruiting teams to achieve £50K+ revenue
• Research and identify prospective grantfunders, writing and submitting high-quality applications and proposals
• Delivering excellent grant management and stewardship updates
• Represent Smart Works Reading at high-profile events and meetings, engaging with influential individuals and key stakeholders

What you'll have 

• Experience in securing five and six-figure income from a variety of philanthropic sources, including corporate partnerships
• Entrepreneurial mindset towards our fundraising strategy
• Proven success in identifying, cultivating, and inspiring donors to support the cause
• Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, tailored to various audiences and platforms
• Experience working with grant applications and/or funding proposals and utilising a range of tools to identify new funding opportunities
• Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to prepare high-quality funding proposals and reports, adapting the communication style for different audiences and stakeholders to maximise impact

You will have excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn. You must also be able to work collaboratively internally and externally and have a positive, pro-active ‘can-do’ attitude.
