Reporting
This role reports to the Director of Finance and Administration.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment and Onboarding:
· Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
· Coordinate the hiring process, including job postings, interviews, and offer negotiations.
· Facilitate smooth onboarding processes for new employees, including orientation and training programs.
2. Employee Relations:
· Advise employees and management on HR-related matters.
· Handle employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and resolution as needed.
· Conduct investigations into employee complaints or disciplinary issues and recommend appropriate actions.
· Nurture a positive working environment.
3. Performance Management:
· Oversee the performance appraisal system, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback mechanisms.
· Provide support and training to managers on performance management best practices.
· Identify opportunities for employee development and career advancement. Assess and monitor training programmes.
4. Policy Development and Compliance:
· Improve and maintain HR policies, procedures and initiatives in accordance with legal requirements and organisational strategy.
· Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
· Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in HR management.
5. HR Administration:
· Maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files, absence records and HR databases.
· Prepare and analyse HR metrics and reports to inform decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or a related field. CIPD certification is essential.
- Proven experience in HR management, preferably in the charity sector or a similar non-profit organisation.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels of the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Solid organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Your main responsibilities will be to:
- Develop our grants management systems and processes, identifying best practice and implementing changes where necessary
- Become the expert on our grants management software system and use of grants management analysis tools, providing updates on grants management data
- Change funding processes to ensure greater environmental sustainability of the research we fund
- Ensure our grant terms and conditions and policies are fit for purpose
- Engage with the wider research funding sector to identify best practices in areas of importance to us, such as peer review, research integrity, research culture and equity, diversity and inclusion
- Be the key point of contact with our Finance and Governance teams, and improve business processes between the teams
- Keep abreast of developments in best practice of research management and grant funding, and introduce improvements to processes.
- Monitor our use of data to ensure compliancy with all policies
- Work with Research Managers and Grants Officers to design bespoke funding competitions and standardise processes across all funding competitions
- Manage some standing Research Committees; for example, Research Organisation Due Diligence
- Assist in development and preparation of proposals, papers, reports, briefings and documents
- Engage with external stakeholders as a representative for the Foundation when necessary
- Manage and be involved in relevant project work
- Matrix management of a Grants Officer.
Who you are
You may be a Research or Grants Manager, or an experienced research or grants officer looking for the next step in your career.

We will offer you
We will offer a salary of £45,000 to £47,000 depending on experience for a full-time 36-hour week (happy to consider part-time, min 0.8 FTE) and double-matched pension contributions up to 10% max employer contribution. This is an exciting new role in UHBW and will lead the Trust's Cost Improvement Programmes (CIP) programme and working with the Head of Finance - Financial Services & Assurance, support the implementation of financial controls and policy across all areas of finance to ensure the Trust's long term financial sustainability.

We’re looking for a qualified accountant to join our team and provide operational leadership for the Charity’s Finance function, supporting the Director of Finance & Governance and providing line management for our friendly finance team.
You will be responsible for ensuring The Charity complies with statutory requirements, operates effective controls, provides meaningful insight on financial matters and adapts processes to suit our growing Charity.
You will take a lead on statutory compliance such as audit, tax and Charity Commission submissions. You will work with the Finance Manager to ensure the integrity of finance records and systems, the accurate and timely production of monthly management accounts, making of payments to Team Members and suppliers and ad hoc reporting.
You will take a leading role in budget preparations and forecasting.
Who we’re looking for:
A qualified accountant with at least five years’ experience in a similar role from any sector. You will have experience of and be comfortable with filing VAT returns, preparing statutory accounts, dealing with auditors, and managing a small team.

Finance System Implementation Manager - Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Band 8a £50,000 - £57,3000 plus Excellent NHS Benefits ; hybrid working 2/3 days a week on site

This postholder will play the lead role in implementing and integrating a Cloud ERP accounting software package (General Ledger, Sourcing to Pay & Revenue to Cash including Electronic Document Interfaces, fixed asset register, budgeting and forecasting) to replace the current legacy accounting software package, aligning Gloucestershire NHS FT entities on the same platform. This will interface to other internal systems, in order to link activity to income and cost.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Post
- Reporting to the Associate Director of Financial Management, this post will take the financial lead on implementing and integrating a Cloud ERP accounting software package (GL, P2P including EDI, budgeting and forecasting) to replace the current legacy accounting software package, aligning Gloucestershire NHS FT entities on the same platform. This will involve working closely with the Procurement Team within the Trust's Finance Shared Service.
- Develop an understanding of the financial requirements of the Trust and map these to the system
- Identifying as-is processes and working to improve these ahead of system implementation, such that opportunities for governance improvements and financial efficiencies are highlighted, implemented and monitored for success. This will include setting up and supporting finance system review groups for each module of the system and regular communication with key stakeholders
- Manage the day-to-day running of the project implementation in accordance with project parameters and a robust governance framework. This includes managing the Finance System Implementation Project Manager to ensure delivery of the project to agreed timescales.
- Convene and support the Finance System Review Project Meetings and ensure appropriate resources are available to take minutes, manage action logs and prepare agendas. Establish, organise, chair if appropriate and attend various project meetings aligning support as necessary.
- Develop and maintain project documentation as required including: project plans, highlight reports, financial reports, timelines, risk and/or issue registers etc in line with Trust systems, templates and processes.
- Deliver appropriate reporting on project progress in accordance with agreed project parameters, including ensuring remedial action is taken where necessary, and that the business case is regularly monitored against for costs and forecasts.
- Develop other documents as required, including: MoUs, standard operating procedures (SOPs), processes, etc and ensuring they meet the requirements of the project and associated programmes of work.
- Ensure adequate staff involvement and engagement in the project.
- Be accountable for ensuring the successful implementation of the project to the highest possible standards.

This Directorate raises money so that Alzheimer’s Society can provide essential services to those who need them.
This will be a busy and varied role; you will need to manage a range of competing priorities and have excellent attention to detail. We’re looking for someone with energy, proactivity and who loves taking ownership. We need someone highly organised who will thrive with a varied portfolio. You will work with colleagues across the Income and engagement Directorate.
This role will bolster the existing business partnering team, as we navigate our way through a Finance Transformation programme incorporating transition to a new ERP, Unit4.
The Finance Business Partner will assist the directorate with financial analysis and advice that will help shape decision making. As a member of the Finance Partnering Team, you will support budget holders to maximise their impact and deliver a high quality, customer focused finance partnering service to stakeholders, including support to operational decision making, commercial development and producing forecasts, budgets, and insightful analysis.
This is a homeworking role, but you may be required to travel to attend some meetings and team-days, so you must reside in the UK, have the correct right to work documents to work in the UK and be comfortable/willing to travel to our flagship offices (London or Birmingham) if/when required.

Main Responsiblities:
- Supporting the Professional Officer in managing finance, human resources, risk management, quality, operational change, board activities and business planning for the organisation.
- Providing programme management support for SAPHNA bidding, budget, invoicing, and contract management processes.
- To support the development and delivery of SAPHNA business planning and prioritisation, including horizon scanning and creating business cases and new opportunities for income generation.

The Programme Manager role:
This position sits within the Finance and Operations team, with a remit to provide effective Programme and Project management across the Charity.
Key responsibilities of the Programme Manager:
- Leading and managing the successful delivery of complex projects/programmes across the Charity
- Building strong, professional relationships with line managers - working closely with the Chief Financial and Operations Officer
- Managing and delivering specific change initiatives
- Ensuring all stakeholder needs are clearly captured, understood, and effectively built into all aspects of project/programme delivery
- Defining, measuring and communicating updates of programme & project performance to key stakeholders
- Managing the Charity’s IT support contracts, and working with contractors to ensure the IT infrastructure is robust and meets the evolving needs of the organisation
- Monitoring and evaluating changes in technology and making recommendations for systems improvements and/or cost savings
- Maintaining accurate project records
- Producing formal reports and documents which clearly set out complex issues to assist decision-making
- Supporting the general activities of the Finance & Operations Department as required
Essential experience, skills and knowledge required for the Programme Manager role:
- At least 5 years' experience as a project professional
- Experience and a working understanding of leading and delivering projects through others in a charity or services environment
- Good general IT skills, especially MS Office with more detailed knowledge of project programming and scheduling software, e.g. MS Project
- A motivated individual with initiative and a structured approach to work who has good organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to articulate and communicate effectively at all levels
- Experienced in chairing meetings and taking accurate notes of decisions, actions and commitments
- Experience of leading projects involving data migration and system integration

Purpose of the job/About the role
Join Dementia UK as a Compliance and Quality Assurance Manager helping to champion effective compliance including finance, fundraising and clinical governance requirements. You will provide advice to colleagues on compliance matters and will ensure that we are run in a way that optimises efficiency and effectiveness.
As part of the Governance, Compliance and Risk team, you will drive the Charity’s Compliance and Quality Assurance agenda ensuring our services remain in line with our purpose, and ultimately supporting our commitment to beneficiaries, staff, and other stakeholders.
Working closely with Senior Management Team (SMT) colleagues, including the Head of Clinical Effectiveness you will attend relevant meetings, to ensure compliance and improvement at service level, supporting the implementation of quality improvement plans. You will undertake compliance checks and second line of defence audits, as part of the Charity’s Enterprise Risk Management framework. As well as conduct compliance audits on policies, processes, and procedures, overseeing the Dementia UK Complaints log, and collaborate with colleagues across the Charity to ensure effective complaint resolution.
The ideal candidate will be results-driven, analytical, and adept at problem-solving, with a passion for compliance, regulations, and quality assurance. You should have an understanding of risk management and prior experience in compliance, with a strong grasp of relevant charity requirements and regulations, including clinical, fundraising, and financial standards. A good understanding of health and social care systems, with experience in an NHS or healthcare setting, is also essential.
