Job description

Scope is a disability equality charity in England and Wales. Together we are Disability Gamechangers. We work to a society where all disabled people enjoy equality and fairness. We campaign tirelessly for an equal future for disabled people.

Activities for All are looking to build their team of Sessional Play Inclusion Workers.  There are 5 zero hours positions available.

Location: Leeds - Travel across Leeds is essential as sessions are delivered in different locations across the city.

Salary: £15.08 per hour

Hours: Flexible – sessions last between 1 and 2 hours plus time to complete paperwork

The role 

We are looking for passionate and adaptable Sessional Inclusion Workers to join our Activities for All service in Leeds.

You will offer short-term, one to one support to disabled children encouraging their inclusion in mainstream play and leisure activities.

 As a part of the role you will encourage universal play and leisure activities to be inclusive of all children.

Working hours will tend to be after-school and evenings during the week and weekends.

The hours are flexible and can fit around studies or another job. 

About you

Essential:

  • You will have experience of inclusion work with children and young people with additional needs in play and leisure settings
  • Be able to show a knowledge of inclusion policies and procedures
  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Be able to work on your own initiative as well as following set procedures and working with others
  • Have strong IT skills including Microsoft Office
  • Be able to travel across Leeds

Desirable:

  • A positive approach to the inclusion of all children and young people in play and leisure settings
  • Knowledge of services and play provision for disabled children in Leeds
  • A positive approach to the issue of risk in children’s play
  • Be willing to attend training to support the development of the role
