Overview:

Spires supports homeless and vulnerably housed people in South London. This role focuses on trusts, foundations, and government funding, working closely with the CEO to maintain strong funder relationships and deliver compelling bids.

Spires has undergone a period of rapid transformation, moving to a model of multi-site working across three London Boroughs. Our core services include, day centre style drop-ins for homeless people, a Women’s drop in, a Refugee drop in and outreach targeted at supporting Women who are sex working. 

Part 1:  Job profile

1.1 Purpose of job

To generate income from a diverse funding pool that includes trusts, foundations, government and other funding sources as appropriate. Trusts and foundations remain the primary funding source for Spires so maintaining consistent application output is a core element of the role.

To manage our relationships with funders which will include reporting, networking and proactive engagement.

Work with Spires CEO and the Head of Client Services to ensure that data and outcomes are being effectively captured in a way that is helpful for evidencing impact.  

1.2 Position in organisation

 The post holder will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. Whilst not an operational role, the post holder will maintain a connection to our services so as to be able to represent the service accurately in funding bids.  

Part 2: Key duties and responsibilities

2.1 Income generation

• Maximise existing and find new income to meet agreed income targets.
• Research, write and present attractive propositions for a range of quality funding bids, proposals and documentation.
• Produce and submit quality funding reports to meet deadlines.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fundraising regulations, networks and developments across the sector, advising on best practice

2.3 Planning, monitoring and reporting

• Contribute to internal planning and budget setting, setting out clear plans for income generation.
• Contribute to forecasting and regular reporting, producing verbal and written reports for the CEO.
• Actively manage contracts to ensure that Spires is delivering agreed outcomes and spending restricted funds correctly.

 2.4 General

• Feed into the updated fundraising strategy.
• Undertaking other duties compatible with the level and nature of the post and/or reasonably required by more senior members of staff.
• Attend and participate in staff and team meetings and other meetings as required

Part 3: Person specification

 3.1 Essential experience

• Experience of working in the fundraising sector in a professional capacity
• Experience of securing significant grants or multi-year funding from trusts or statutory sources
• A demonstrable track record of successfully generating income and achieving targets
• Producing impact and evaluation reports for funders

Part 4: Summary of terms and conditions of service

Location: The postholder will be an employee of The Spires Centre. This post is based at 2nd Floor, Elmfield House, 5 Stockwell Mews, SW9 9GX This role will by hybrid with three days in the office and two days from home.

Probation: This post is subject to a 6 month probationary period.

Notice: This post is subject to an 12 weeks’ notice period once confirmed in post.

Annual leave: The annual leave entitlement is 35 days per year including 8 bank holidays.

Pension: The Spires Centre will contribute 5% of annual salary for those who qualify for our group pension plan.

Other benefits: The Spires Centre will provide life and income protection insurance for those who qualify for our group plans.

Expenses: This role will require travel within London. Out-of-pocket expenses will be paid when incurred in accordance with our expenses policy.

The Senior Individual Giving Coordinator will manage relationships through our public fundraising and events, including individual donors and community fundraisers. Main responsibilities 

Cultivation and engagement: 

• Maintain donation pipeline by securing repeat donations and uplifts in giving from current individual donors. 

• Build our corporate partnerships (e.g. “Charity of the Year” engagements) and relationships with schools, including developing packages to support engaging and effective fundraising activities. 

• Support a portfolio of engagement opportunities for corporate donors and other public stakeholders to engage in fundraising activities and events, including owned events such as ‘Theirworld Your Walk’, Christmas carol concert and supporter recognition events.

• Create mailings and communications assets to share with targeted donor audiences.

Experience and skills

ISEAL is looking for a Finance Manager to manage the day-to-day finance function in a sustainability focused international not-for-profit organisation.

The Finance Manager, Financial Accounting is a hands-on role, leading a mostly remote team of 3 part-time staff, who collectively process all ISEAL’s transactions. Key responsibilities

Team management

• Oversee a team of 3 (2 direct reports) who process ISEAL’s day to day transactions, incl. purchase ledger, sales ledger and staff expenses /credit cards and payroll accounting
• Coordinate work planning, payment runs and monthly/quarterly accounting processes
• Work with the Finance Director to hold effective monthly Face to face team meetings.
• At times, provide back up and support to the different roles in the team
• Line manage, support and provide development and growth opportunities to direct reports

Financial accounting

• Responsible for and oversee the capture of all day-to-day transactions in ISEAL’s accounting records
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts on monthly/quarterly basis
• Oversee the payroll accounting, including 4 overseas payrolls
• Review VAT treatment of transactions and prepare VAT returns for review and submit it to HMRC
• Oversee timesheet processes and the calculation/allocation of staff costs into accounting system
• Consolidate ISEAL’s accounts and forecasts into management accounting-packs
• Support on preparation of the statutory accounts

Wider responsibilities

• Support the evolution of financial accounting procedures that are robust, effective and efficient, incl. acting as an administrator on Sage Intacct accounting software

As Social Work Practice Assessor (Student Placement Coordinator) you will be working with universities, St Mungo's services and students on placement ensuring high quality and meaningful placements

In this role you will:

• Plan and manage social work students’ placements and ensure the provision of appropriate learning opportunities.

You will also have excellent relationship-management and communications skills and be able to develop collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regional teams, non-governmental partners, and government agencies. About the role:
The Supporter Acquisition Manager leads the strategy and delivery of our acquisition programme, with a focus on digital and face-to-face recruitment. What we are looking for:

We’re looking for a confident, experienced fundraiser to lead major-gift fundraising — securing transformational gifts from high-net-worth individuals while building wealth-adviser relationships that generate referral leads. You’ll own the full pipeline: prospecting, cultivation, making direct asks, closing and stewardship.

The ideal candidate will be excited to cultivate networks of wealth managers, private-client teams and other advisers to HNWIs, and to convert adviser introductions into committed support. You’ll also prospect independently for major gifts outside those referral streams.

About the role 

Working closely with colleagues in the policy and public affairs and the research teams you will drive forward EngineeringUK’s engagement with politicians, policy makers and other political stakeholders, ensuring that EngineeringUK’s policy views are heard across Westminster, Whitehall and in the regions. This will mean developing clear engagement strategies and plans with the support of the Head of Policy & Public Affairs focused on nurturing our relationships with MPs and Peers. About The Role:

We are recruiting for two vacancies within this service. As an advocate for our clients who may experience homelessness as a result of a hospital visit, we will expect you to lead on the case management of these clients. You will work in partnership with other agencies to create holistic, caring and personalised support plans for them. Our clients usually have a range of support needs that might impact their experience of homelessness. This includes mental health problems, social isolation, challenging behaviour, finance and debt, alcohol and drug abuse and you will be working with them to achieve outcomes that include move on.

You will ensure their voices are heard and make them aware of available support to them including maximising this support. It is important to let you know that at times this role is tough, but most of the time it is very rewarding when you see the difference you make in the lives of others.

Main Responsibilities Of The Job:

• To be part of a team running of a new and dynamic service assessing and managing risk for individuals and in the service.
• Ensure the effective delivery of high quality care, support and housing management according to Homeless Oxfordshire policies and procedures.
• To work in partnership with other agencies to ensure the delivery of holistic wrap around support.
• To work in partnership with Connection Support Step provision and Out of Hospital Team.
• To work with other agencies to provide client centered support & risk management plans for clients with complex needs to identify work towards a suitable move on option within 6 weeks.
• To be a supportive and effective part of the team working as part of a rota including evenings and weekends.
• Report any safeguarding concerns without delay in line with procedures.

To make and maintain Housing Benefit claims.

• Manage challenging situations in line with procedures and to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
• Ensure that IT systems are updated as required and concise record keeping is completed promptly.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients, relatives, carers, professionals, commissioners, contractors and the local community.
• To undertake any other duties that can be reasonably required to meet the operational needs of Homeless Oxfordshire.
• Comply with Homeless Oxfordshire’s policies and procedures.
• Contribute to a positive working environment in which equality and diversity are valued and staff are enabled to do their best.
• Contribute to the work of the broader team.
