Our Finance Team is expanding and we have an exciting opportunity available for a Management Accountant! You will be part of our finance team and will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts, assisting annual budgeting and restricted funding income. This is to provide support in decision making across relevant areas of the organisation and to continuously improve the efficiency and quality of what we do to support other functions in driving efficiencies and reducing costs.

You will report into the Financial Controller and will work as part of a team alongside our experienced and knowledgeable Finance Business Partners.

Title: Management Accountant

Salary: £47,397 per year FTE 

Contract: 6 Month Fixed Term Contract

Hours: 35 hours per week

Location: Based in London but with extremely flexible home-working available in line with Crisis’ Hybrid Working policy

About the role

As management accountant, you will –

• Produce accurate monthly management accounts for the organisation
• Assist forecasts and budgets in liaison with the Finance Business Partners and budget managers providing support and advice for new projects/contracts when required. Applicants will need a keen eye for detail!
• Manage and plan restricted funding ensuring funds are spent in accordance with supporter requirements.
• Assist in year-end statutory audit process

About you

To be successful in this role you will have ACCA/ CIMA or equivalent CCAB recognised accounting qualification, or working towards such a qualification, or can demonstrate being qualified by experience. The ideal candidate for this role will

• Be a self-starter with an excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide industry-leading customer service to all internal and external customers.
• Have strong interpersonal skills are required to liaise confidently with other parts of the Business 
• Have an inquiring and analytical mind, and be able to demonstrate good attention to detail
• Have an innovative approach and ability to work in a changing environment

• You will manage and lead a 24-hour 16-18 bed new therapeutic support & accommodation service for women from across South London who have experienced homelessness and severe and multiple disadvantage.

Service Managers are responsible for the effective management of all contracts within their designated patch, including line managing the relevant front-line staff. What you'll do:
Drive business planning activities within your contract, ensuring relevant and challenging objective setting and ongoing performance tracking, developing turn around action plans as may be necessary
This role will also hold an accountability for staff tracker updates/management for the patch and income management for wider contracts. HR investigations for other contracts also form part of the wider role
Using sound financial and accounting principles, manage contract budgets to deliver on corporate and local contract financial targets
Successfully lead and motivate your team to ensure the championing of and maintenance of a positive local culture within your service
Work to continuously improve staff competence, ensure ownership of all staff issues and speedy and effective conflict resolution
Responsible for reporting all staff changes to HR and Payroll departments, as appropriate e.g. starters, leavers, additional hours etc.
Responsible for maintaining quarterly staff succession plans
Deliver effective, professional and commercially focused briefings and supervision meetings with staff and ensure that information, reporting & communications flow up/down is effective
Responsible for managing and allocating customers to support staff (casework management)

Chalk Farm Tenant Management Organisation (TMO) is looking for a competent leader with a passion for social housing to manage our housing organisation.

Located close to the historic Camden Market, the TMO provides housing services and community activities for residents of the estate. Sustainably funded by Camden Council long term, this is an ideal opportunity for a candidate with experience in management and a real interest in social housing, who values the autonomy of working in a small and close knit organisation.

As estate manager, your main duties will be to:

1. Give the TMO the strategy it needs to deliver an excellent housing service for residents.

2. Ensure that the TMO is adequately and responsibly resourced.

3. Ensure that the TMO complies with the Management Agreement signed with Camden Council, all applicable legislation, and current best practice.

4. Provide effective day-to-day leadership, management and supervision of staff.

5. Uphold a service culture which puts residents’ satisfaction at the heart of delivery. 

6. Ensure the effective delivery of the TMO’s housing management functions.

7. Work in partnership with the committee to deliver continuous improvement and good value across all TMO managed and contracted services.

This could be you if you have:

• 4 years+ experience of managing staff, and at least 2 years experience of reporting to a board;

• good knowledge of housing law or current issues relating to social housing;

• experience in procuring contracts and managing contractors;

• a proactive, can-do attitude, and an ability to motivate a team;

• excellent numerical and IT literacy, including a record of preparing and scrutinising budgets;

• Either a Level 4 Certificate in Housing, or an undergraduate degree (2:1 or above), and are prepared to enrol in the 1 year online Level 4 course by the Chartered Institute for Housing. 

The TMO is prepared to fund the Level 4 course, and to support a bright manager with a successful track record of delivery to transition into social housing.

We are looking for a socially conscious Investment Manager to join one of the UK's leading Social Impact Investors. 

Big Issue Invest is part of the Big Issue Group which brings together media, investment and service initiatives under the one aim of creating solutions through enterprise, to unlock social and economic opportunity for the 14.5m people in the UK living in relative poverty to earn, learn and thrive.

The role will support the lending activities of Big Issue Invest and have exposure to the full investment lifecycle including sourcing and developing new investment opportunities; managing the current portfolio of investments; and admin and project work to support the team’s development.
