The Executive Officer to CEO (Maternity Cover) leads the effective running of the CEO’s office, providing strategic project management, coordination of leadership priorities, and hands-on delivery across strategy development, planning and governance.
This is a pivotal role within War Child, sitting at the heart of the organisation’s leadership and governance. Working closely with the CEO, Leadership Group, Chair and Board of Trustees, the Executive Officer to CEO plays a key role in enabling effective decision-making, organisational oversight and delivery of War Child’s ambitions for children.
Reporting to the CEO and acting as a trusted representative of their office, you will be an energetic, highly organised self-starter with the judgement and confidence to balance strategic coordination with high-quality executive support. The role combines project leadership, organisational planning and culture-focused initiatives with hands-on executive assistance.
As Company Secretary, you will also support excellence in governance by ensuring War Child meets its statutory and regulatory obligations, including compliance and reporting to the Charity Commission, Companies House and the Fundraising Regulator.
This is a hybrid role, with two days per week expected in the London office and up to three days per week working remotely. Occasional additional office attendance may be required to support meetings or key organisational activity.
This role is offered as a 12-month maternity cover contract, ideally starting in late-May 2026.

THE ROLE
The Risk and Compliance Advisor forms a key part of the Assurance Team, which provides confidence to senior leadership and the Board that Start Network’s risk management and control environment is effective.
The postholder will support organisation‑wide risk management, compliance processes and member capacity strengthening. This role requires excellent communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to navigate complex issues calmly and logically.
Risk Management: Support organisation‑wide risk identification, assessment and monitoring; maintain risk registers; embed risk processes in planning and decision‑making.
Investigations: Coordinate external investigations into fraud, corruption and anti-money laundering, including managing specialists.
Sanctions & Vetting: Support vetting processes and keep vetting data accurate and up to date.
Compliance: Deliver compliance spot checks, ensure donor due‑diligence commitments are met
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We’re looking for someone with solid experience in risk, assurance and compliance, who can confidently support teams across a fast‑moving, values‑driven humanitarian network. You’ll bring strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage complex cases, including fraud and corruption matters. You’ll be comfortable working with diverse stakeholders, handling sensitive information, and supporting organisation‑wide risk processes.
You should be confident using data and digital tools, able to explain complex issues clearly, and proactive in strengthening risk management and compliance systems.
Experience in the humanitarian or nonprofit sector, professional risk qualifications, or experience in capacity strengthening are a bonus but not essential.

JOB PURPOSE
The Partnerships Manager will be a key position within the fundraising team, managing key private donors and co-leading on developing and implementing a new business strategy focused on significantly increasing trust and foundation and corporate funders.
They will also be working with SLT members to put together strategic seven and eight figure grants and strategic plans to engage large global donors to support Start Network programming.
The Resource Mobilisation team works collaboratively with those in programmes to manage internal and external relationships, adopting a coordinated approach when it comes to donor management and reporting.
The Partnerships Manager, together with the Head of Resource Mobilisation, will set and deliver a strategy that maximises trust and foundation and corporate funding and set a clear path to bring in new donors and increase income substantially over the coming three years. Currently the funding portfolio you will be managing is over £30million from 13+ global donors. This means this role is personally responsible for engaging and retaining 60% of our donors. This role will set a strategy to increase income according to targets, maximise donors plus retain all key strategic donors through robust engagement plans. Beyond this, the person in post will line manage three with scope for growth in 2026.
Additionally, across 2026-2028 and beyond they will lead on the development of an employee engagement offering with our corporates and corporate foundations in order to create a new avenue of unrestricted funding.
Beyond this, we expect this role, to lead on behalf of the resource mobilization team key global events, particularly Skoll / Marmalade and Shift the Power. In collaboration with the Institutional Funding Manager they will also plan our activities London and NY Climate Weeks. They will set the plans and strategy for the organization to engage with these events and work with Directors, CEO, Heads of, and coordinate cross organisational plans for this together with our Head of Advocacy and Influence.
Finally, this role will act as a key point of contact for the communications and advocacy teams and will need to make sure donor requirement and visibility will be taken into account across teams projects and strategies.

Our international team supports this work around the world, bringing expertise in digital, fundraising, communications, finance, IT and Salesforce, and working closely with colleagues in our 12 fundriasing countries and 6 project countries.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll support international and country teams to deliver effective, data‑led digital marketing. Working closely with fundraising, communications and digital colleagues, you’ll help shape and support campaigns, improve digital performance through insight and analytics, and share best practice across multiple countries - always with an international mindset and sensitivity to local needs.
About you
You’ll be an experienced digital marketer with a collaborative approach and a passion for using digital to make a difference. You’ll have a strong understanding of the Christian faith and Christian audiences. You’ll be comfortable working across cultures, managing multiple priorities, and using insight to continually improve performance.
Essential
Proven experience in digital marketing, including online campaigns
Strong skills in digital advertising, analytics and SEO
Confidence using tools such as Google Analytics and major ad and social platforms
Experience working with stakeholders and managing multiple priorities
Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills
A strong understanding of the Christian faith and Christian audiences
Desirable
Experience working in an international or multi‑country context
Experience in the charity or not‑for‑profit sector
Familiarity with Salesforce or digital integrations
Knowledge of digital compliance and cookie legislation

As a Paid Digital Media Manager within the Content Team, you would be responsible for managing Tearfund's paid digital media activity across key channels including social, search, and display. You will use data, insights, and creative performance analysis to drive supporter acquisition, income generation, and digital engagement.
We are particularly looking for a digital media expert with a passion for paid marketing, who has experience in developing paid digital media strategy and managing advertising accounts across Meta, Google Ads, and Microsoft.
