Sightsavers' programming portfolio is growing, and we deliver a range of disability rights programming in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, which are designed to expand civic space and to make systems and processes more inclusive of people with a range of impairments.
Our social inclusion strategy covers four thematic areas: inclusive health, economic empowerment, citizenship, and political participation, and promoting the rights of women and girls with disabilities. We seek a Global Technical Lead - Social Inclusion and Mainstreaming, with expertise in addressing inequalities, to join our team of social inclusion professionals. The post-holder will be responsible for providing technical support in the design of new projects, the provision of technical expertise to ongoing initiatives and will also play a role in shaping the strategic direction of Sightsavers' approach to disability inclusive decision-making, gender mainstreaming, and supporting our policy and global advocacy priorities.
The Global Technical Lead - will support the Deputy Technical Director, Social inclusion in delivering Sightsavers' work in inclusive decision-making. This will include working closely with country office staff to deliver our West Africa portfolio of projects addressing inclusive citizenship and political participation (CPP). Inclusive democracy is an area of growth for Sightsavers, and the post-holder will have a significant role in contributing to growing the portfolio.
Principal accountabilities will include:
- Providing Sightsavers staff and our partners, technical leadership, support and guidance in the area of disability inclusion across our thematic area of citizenship and political participation
- Identifying the capacity building needs of Sightsavers' staff and partners globally to deliver social inclusion programming
- Working with Global Technical Leads and other teams to identify new strategic initiatives and innovative approaches in social inclusion including in fragile environments and promoting locally led development.
- Developing tools and guidance around disability mainstreaming
- Representing Sightsavers externally and strengthening partnerships with relevant stakeholders
- Working with fundraisers to generate additional financial resources.
- Contributing to the design of new opportunities
- Actively engaging in the Social Inclusion Thematic Group
- Contributing to communications about our work - internally and externally

The goal is to improve quality teaching and holistic learning, and to foster resilient education systems across the world, including for those living in remote regions and those facing multiple forms of marginalisation and crises.
The Senior Programme Officer for Schools2030 will lead on resource mobilisation for the Schools2030 programme as well as allocation of funding across the programme countries and workstreams. The Senior Programme Officer will coordinate closely with the Schools2030 Partnership and Finance teams and will manage the smooth functioning with the rest of the Schools2030 Global Secretariat. Working closely with the Schools2030 Partnerships Officer, the Senior Programme Officer will support on external reporting, including to Schools2030 consortium of donors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CORE TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Resource Mobilisation:
- Lead on resource mobilisation and the development of new proposals for the Schools2030 programme to develop narrative content for proposals and proposal budgets. This should all be done in close coordination with the Global Partnerships team, other members of the Global Secretariat, country teams, and finance teams.
- Lead on scoping new funding opportunities for Schools2030, working closely with the Global Partnerships team, and identify and evaluate strategic growth opportunities for the programme
Coordination:
- Manage the smooth functioning of the Schools2030 Partnerships and Finance teams including through leading weekly progress meetings, monitoring deliverables and setting team priorities on a weekly and monthly basis, in coordination with the broader Schools2030 Secretariat.
- Develop annual funding plans (including aligning donor grants to programme workstreams, identifying areas for fundraising) with Global Programme Manager, Finance, Partnerships and Country Units
- Coordinate external technical partnerships, including developing TORs for external technical partners and tracking achievement of deliverables.
- With finance and partnerships, oversee the Schools2030 grant and budget database to ensure alignment between grants, budgets and partner contracts
Donor Reporting
- Support the Schools2030 Partnership Officer on development of external reports and ensuring alignment with financial reports developed by Schools2030 Finance Officers
- Present Schools2030 programme and financial progress at Biannual Donor Meetings (March and October each year), with support of Partnership and Finance Team

MapAction has developed an exciting new strategy to make humanitarian response and disaster preparedness more effective. We need a dynamic, proactive individual for the role of Team Coordinator to support our volunteers who play a central role in MapAction’s work.

This role is pivotal to MapAction being operationally ready. The role of the People Assistant will be to provide administrative support to the People Team. Main role and responsibilities

These studies are in the area of disability inclusive education and climate resilience in education. Our research predominantly revolves around qualitative methodologies, supplemented by a variety of other techniquesThe studies are primarily qualitative, but make some use of other methods. We are looking for an experienced Research Coordinator, to play a vital role in coordinating and implementing these research studies and to support other education focused work by Country Office team.

Crucially, you will also made immediate, evidence-based decisions about whether cases should enter the detention estate, so you will ensure every case is handled fairly, and that the special needs and vulnerabilities of each person have been taken into consideration.
We want to ensure that those guilty of serious offences are removed from the UK at the earliest possibility within the Early Removal Scheme, so you will be encouraged to share your ideas on how we can improve our processes. You will also ensure we have an ongoing pipeline of talent by developing the skills and knowledge of your team, and you will ensure they are benefitting from a supportive working environment in which they feel able to discuss their own methods and ideas.
This is a highly varied and deeply interesting role in which you will make a tangible difference to the safety and security of the nation. You will also have the opportunity to build your own professional network, as you will work collaborate with a wide range of partners including The Police, The Crown Prosecution Service, HM Prison and Probation, and HM Courts & Tribunals Service. To be equal to the challenge, you will therefore have exceptional interpersonal skills, particularly as you will be required to brief Ministers and other senior officials. As a natural leader who can get the best out of a team, you will have good stakeholder engagement and management capabilities, so it goes without saying that you will have strong verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable working at pace in order to meet tight deadlines without ever lowering standards, it would be ideal if you have previous line management experience. A working at knowledge of immigration processes, policies and legislation would also be helpful.
