Digital Transformation Programme Manager - 24 Months Contract
Location: London (hybrid, 3 days/week in the office)
Contract: Two-year fixed-term contract, Full-time
Interviews: 17-18 November 2026
Are you an experienced digital programme manager looking to help shape how a global organisation works and connects with trade unions and external partners?
The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) represents nearly 20 million transport workers through more than 700 affiliated trade unions in over 150 countries. Working across every transport sector, we campaign for better rights, safer workplaces and fairer conditions for transport workers worldwide.
We are seeking a Digital Transformation Programme Manager to lead a programme that will strengthen our systems, improve organisational processes and make information more accessible to colleagues, affiliates and external organisations.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, with matrix management by the Head of Systems, Digital and Data, you will bring together colleagues and specialist delivery partners to turn organisational priorities into practical digital improvements.
This is an opportunity to deliver meaningful organisational change, connecting technology, people and processes to support the ITF’s work worldwide.
The Role
As Digital Transformation Programme Manager, you will lead the delivery of the ITF’s Digital Transformation Programme, beginning with the Maritime Projects (Operations and Inspectorate) and Membership Portal Project.
Building on our integrated Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM platform, the programme will improve operational processes, information management and digital capability. This includes delivering a secure, user-friendly portal through which external organisations can access and use CRM-held data.
You will develop and maintain a coordinated programme roadmap, bringing together major transformation projects and agreed programme related CRM improvements. Working with the Head of Systems, Digital and Data, you will align programme delivery with the ITF’s technology strategy, architecture, security and technical standards, and coordinate the technical resources and platform support required for delivery.
Alongside programme delivery, you will lead business analysis, stakeholder engagement and organisational change. You will help departments develop common processes, identify opportunities for automation and prepare colleagues and external users to adopt new systems and ways of working.
You will ensure completed projects move successfully into operational support and deliver measurable improvements in access to information, organisational efficiency and services.
What you’ll do
As Digital Transformation Programme Manager, you will:
- Lead the Digital Transformation Programme, delivering agreed outcomes within agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards.
- Develop and maintain the Digital Transformation Programme roadmap, aligning priorities, dependencies and resources across projects and workstreams.
- Coordinate delivery of the Maritime Projects (Operations & Inspectorate) and Membership Portal projects, including secure external access to CRM-held data.
- Work with departments, affiliates and external stakeholders to understand user needs and translate them into clear organisational requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, map processes and identify opportunities to improve ways of working through automation, integration and common standards.
- Coordinate solution design, development, testing, user acceptance testing and implementation with internal teams and specialist delivery partners.
- Lead change planning, communications, training and user readiness activities to support successful adoption.
- Maintain effective programme governance and clear reporting on progress, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies and decisions.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery commitments and value for money, resolving issues and escalating concerns where required.
- Support prioritisation of new requirements and enhancements through the Systems, Digital and Data Governance Group.
- Ensure delivery complies with ITF information security, data protection, procurement and governance requirements.
- Coordinate knowledge transfer and transition into operational support, tracking benefits and applying lessons learned.
About You
You will be an organised and collaborative programme manager who combines delivery experience with sound judgement, strong analytical skills and the ability to bring people together around shared objectives.
You will be equally comfortable discussing priorities with senior leaders, facilitating requirements workshops with users and working with technical specialists and suppliers to resolve delivery challenges.
You will have:
- Proven experience delivering medium to large-scale digital transformation, CRM implementation or organisational systems programmes using recognised programme and project management methodologies.
- Experience delivering portals that enable external organisations to securely access and use data held in a CRM or comparable enterprise system.
- Experience managing complex programmes involving multiple stakeholders, concurrent workstreams and external delivery partners.
- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform or comparable CRM and enterprise technologies.
- Sufficient technical understanding to challenge proposals, assess delivery risks and coordinate CRM, portal and integration workstreams.
- An understanding of user access, permissions, information security and data protection requirements in CRM-connected portal projects.
- Strong business analysis skills, including facilitating workshops, reviewing processes and translating user needs into clear requirements.
- Experience developing and delivering organisational change, communication, training and user adoption plans.
- Experience establishing programme governance, managing budgets, risks and dependencies, tracking benefits and transitioning projects into operational support.
- A successful track record of coordinating suppliers and implementation partners to deliver quality outcomes and value for money.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to explain complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
- The ability to build trusted relationships and deliver results across a matrix-managed organisation without direct line management authority.
- A degree or equivalent professional knowledge and experience.
Desirable
- Experience delivering Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM implementation programmes.
- Experience with external portal technologies, such as Microsoft Power Pages or comparable platforms.
- Experience supporting data migration, systems integration and organisational process redesign.
- Experience working within an international not-for-profit, membership or trade union environment.
- A recognised programme or project management qualification, such as MSP, PRINCE2, APM PMQ or PMP.
- A business analysis or change management qualification, such as BCS, Prosci or APMG.
Why join the ITF?
You’ll help strengthen the systems and ways of working that support an organisation dedicated to improving the lives of transport workers across the globe.
Working with colleagues across departments and with external partners, you’ll deliver improvements that make information more accessible, reduce duplication and support more effective services for affiliates and external organisations.
You’ll have the opportunity to lead a significant programme of change, apply your expertise in an international environment and establish processes and capabilities that will benefit the ITF beyond the programme’s completion.
