First Give 

First Give is a national charity that empowers young people to make a positive difference to the causes they care about. We do this by partnering with secondary schools across England and Wales, delivering a fully resourced programme that inspires an entire year group to connect with local charities and take meaningful social action - from fundraising and volunteering to campaigning and raising awareness.

Each programme culminates in a celebratory School Final, where student teams present their projects to an audience of peers, teachers, and guests. The winning class is awarded a £1,000 First Give grant for their chosen charity - but every participating student contributes to their community and gains skills, confidence, and a deeper understanding of social issues. We currently partner with over 200 schools each year, helping thousands of young people become active, engaged citizens

This is an exciting time for First Give, as we have recently launched our three-year strategy and our ambition to activate the generosity of a million young people by 2034. In order to meet the requirements of the organisation for this ambitious growth a new 3 year fundraising strategy has been developed which includes expanding and diversifying our fundraising streams into Corporate and HNWI. We have also recently launched recruitment for a Fundraising Campaign Board Chair. The Campaign, A Route to A Million, aims to raise an additional £1.5 million over the next 3 years. We are also embarking on an ambitious regional growth strategy to grow and deliver our programme to more young people than ever across England and Wales.

Team Administrator

We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and motivated administrator who would like a varied role.  The successful candidate will provide cross-departmental support and administrative support to the Director and Senior Leadership Team. There is real scope for the candidate to shape the role and gain experience from involvement in various organisational projects. Contract

Permanent 4 days (30 hrs per week). We can be flexible on hours worked each day and the days worked e.g. splitting 30 hours over 5 days.

Salary

£27,007 pro rata (4 days - £21,606). First Give is committed to paying the London Living Wage.

Location

Hybrid, in our North West London office with one day per week at home. We can be flexible regarding the specific days, but these will be fixed once agreed.

Key responsibilities

Providing support to the First Give team, primarily the SLT

• To be the first point of contact for enquiries to First Give by email and telephone
• Provide administrative support for First Gives Board of Trustees and SLT, including scheduling meetings and meeting minutes
• Supporting with communications to stakeholders e.g. schools, facilitators or funders as needed
• Managing First Gives relationship with external contractors such as printers and Salesforce support

Overseeing and managing financial administration

• Setting up and tracking payments to contractors and charities in our banking system ensuring timely completion
• Processing, reviewing and identifying outstanding invoices (including working closely with school finance departments to ensure timely payment of school contributions)
• Administering expenses and pre-paid card system, ensuring expenses are accurately recorded each month
• Provide regular monthly tracking reports on payments to the Director

Administering First Give’s charity grants

• Carrying out due diligence for winning charities to ensure comply with First Give donation rules
• Liaising with winning charities to arrange payment and ensuring accurate records of payments processed
• Running monthly reports on payments for the Director

Providing support to the Programmes team

• Supporting the Programmes team with recruitment of judges for school finals
• Managing First Give’s programme resources stock, ensuring we have enough programme documents and equipment to resource the programme
• Management of coursebook printing and distribution to schools

The Orchestra Unwrapped Coordinator will play a crucial role in the Learning & Engagement Department, managing our flagship education work that supports our commitment to building a pipeline of exceptional and confident musicians. This role will involve on-site project delivery, representing the Orchestra with external partners and project participants, and facilitating our engagement with schools in London and across the Orchestra’s UK residencies of Bedford, Leicester, Canterbury, Basingstoke.

Planning:

Main Purpose of the Job

Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest, working in partnership with Turning Point and Antidote, provide the City and Hackney Recovery service. A full integrated service, shaped by the community needs and voices of service users, carers, families, & communities, all staff and volunteers will contribute to substance misuse recovery, social inclusion and improving the quality of life of all our service users in the City of London and Hackney borough. This Recovery Worker role will support male service users on the non-opiate pathway and keywork a caseload, supporting service users to decide their goals around treatment and develop plans to achieve these. The caseload would consist primarily of male service users with complexities such as mental health complexities, prior criminal conviction, and external risk factors.

This person will be passionate about empowering young people through social action. 

This role is a part-time permanent position that will have hybrid working in the London two days per week. The salary for this role is £45,000 FTE.

Lead Paractioner Role

Are you passionate about working with men and women involved in the Criminal Justice System?  Do you want to work in a residential setting that provides an opportunity to really get to know and make a difference to those released from prison and subject to supervision in the community

Progress to Change is a Leeds-based charity that operates two Independent Approved Premises (IAPs): Ripon House, a 22-bed facility for women, and Cardigan House, a 26-bed facility for men. These facilities serve individuals released from prison on licence, primarily those assessed as high risk, under the supervision of probation practitioners. The charity's mission is to assist and rehabilitate some of the most vulnerable members of society focusing on providing structured support and purposeful activities aimed at resettlement within the community. Progress to Change operates in close partnership with the Ministry of Justice and the Probation Service, and is a member of the National Approved Premises Association (NAPA).

The Lead Practitioner will play a key role in supporting the Approved Premises (AP) Managers in the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring high standards of care, safety, and rehabilitation opportunities for residents. This includes overseeing staff support, organising shift coverage, coordinating training, and maintaining strong relationships with external partners. The role requires a proactive approach to resident engagement, activity planning, and staff development while working a variety of shifts, including weekends and late shifts.

About the opportunity

It’s an exciting time to join Regional Engagement. We’re a growing team with big ambitions over the next 5 years. This role will play a huge part in making these ambitions a reality and paving the way for our future.  

We are recruiting for four additional Regional  Fundraising Managers to join the Regional Engagement Team here at the Alzheimer’s Society.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced team manager with expertise in community, corporate or relationship fundraising. This role will enable you to demonstrate your impact by both growing the overall income within your sub-region by managing and developing your amazing team of 4 Regional fundraisers, and also through leading by example on securing new sources of income where the opportunity is greatest. This could range from new business acquisition through to delivering higher level bespoke stewardship and key account management for our high value supporters. This is a real opportunity for you to make your mark on the sub region.

From multi-year partnerships and supporters, right through to managing volunteers and raising awareness in our communities, the team you will lead is talented, fast-paced and on a mission to create a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. This is where you come in - we need somebody who can harness this passion, help us to maximise on the opportunities that our unique locations give us, and ultimately grow income so we can be there for everybody affected by dementia.
The role will work closely with the Senior Regional Fundraising Manager and other Regional Fundraising Managers in the region to plan, execute and deliver our core community income and expenditure budget, ensuring that no opportunity is left unturned.

This is a homeworking role (hybrid options may be available depending on location). You will need to be based in and able to travel across your sub region (Essex, Herts & Bedfordshire, Berks, Bucks & Oxfordshire) to meet supporters and attend internal meetings at locations across the country including our flagship offices (London, Birmingham, Warrington and Belfast). You must reside in the UK and have the correct right to work documents to work in the UK.

About you 

We are looking for somebody with strong experience of community, corporate or relationship fundraising who has a track record in managing a team, alongside winning new business and providing strong high-level stewardship.

- You won’t be afraid to challenge the status quo
- You will be a confident communicator who can influence and negotiate at a high level and views feedback as an essential tool for development
- You will have previous financial experience in managing budgets and forecasting for income and expenditure
- You will understand the strengths and challenges of managing a geographically dispersed team
- You will have a strong local knowledge of the area and, using organisational data, will use this to inform plans and decisions

Customer engagement and leading by coaching volunteers and staff to have great conversations with every customer on" Rounding up" their purchase, making an "add donation" for our charity and signing up for our loyalty scheme.

Ensuring sales targets are met and direct costs are kept within managed budgets.

Ensuring all financial reporting and management, cash handling, daily banking and security procedures are followed.

Ensuring donated goods are processed according to set standards and timeframes, and that pricing is in line with charity guidelines.

Key Criteria: 

Solid retail experience, preferably in fashion/clothing.

Experience in managing a team. Managing volunteers would be an advantage.

Comprehensive understanding of retailing and merchandising display.

Experience of cash handling and financial management procedures (including completion of sales records).

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-first attitude and the ability to communicate with tact and discretion.

Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload, balancing competing demands.

Understanding of health and safety procedures in a retail environment.
