MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
To provide excellent support to the Head of Operations having full regard to the charity’s objectives and priorities at all times, meeting or exceeding the Charities legal, ethical and moral standards. Lead by example by showing the ability to communicate interpersonal skills, problem solve, decision making and time management. To ensure that you work effectively in terms of daily operations. To build a rapport with our clients in a warm and friendly manner and have empathy with our clients’ needs. To quickly identify any problems and ensure each conversation is handled in a compassionate manner.
Developing and leading on the delivery of existing fundraising events as well as developing and delivering future events (which will include overnight stays) Build high value relationships with members and donors, for a wide range of audiences and media, supporting communications and marketing activities, working closely with colleagues across the organisation.
A good telephone manner is essential, together with excellent literacy, verbal analytical and IT skills, coupled with the ability to work to tight deadlines, often under pressure. To be able to show initiative and a ‘can do’ attitude at all times
** The Fundraising and Events team are very busy and flexibility is required at busy times throughout the year.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fundraising
i. Work collaboratively with multiple internal stakeholders to capture and understand requirements, identify new opportunities or build on existing activity to help achieve income targets.
ii. To data input and maintain events in line with current practices.
iii. To help find volunteers to attend events.
iv. To send out and organise fundraising merchandise and materials for Cinnamon Trust and volunteer events.
v. Handle general telephone and personal enquiries regarding fundraising and events.
vi. Undertake any other reasonable and related tasks, as required by the Marketing and Fundraising team .
vii Have a good working knowledge of charity legislation and work to the Institute of Fundraising Codes of Practice and Fundraising Standards.
vii. To liaise with, and assist other members of the fundraising team.
Events
i. To be available to attend major events for The Cinnamon Trust, making sure that all holidays are worked round our events diary.
ii. To drive The Cinnamon Trust van and trailer to events.
iii. To promote The Trust at events and always present a positive and professional image.
iv. To make sure the appearance of the stand is always presentable.
v. To manage volunteers at an event and give a briefing at the beginning of the day regarding objectives.
vi To seek any permissions required for an event and complete risk assessments required.
vii To make sure that furniture and other equipment is available at each event.
viii To make sure all materials for an event are event appropriate (eg: could be a volunteer driven event or PP) and well stocked.
ix To account for stock and merchandise for each event and fill out request forms that will be logged against each event.
x. To make sure that any cash taken at an event is kept safe.
xi. To liaise with the PR and Marketing department regarding events and to supply photos and copy for their use. To work with the PR and Marketing team regarding fundraising campaigns and promotions.
Together with such additional general duties as the Employer shall reasonably require, having regard to the needs of the Employer’s business as a Charitable Trust.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
To work within a team to provide excellent support to the community service support department. To help ensure accurate and timely follow ups take place with all new and ongoing cases. To build rapport with our clients, both petitioners and volunteers alike, by making contact primarily via the telephone or email and letter where needed. To be warm and friendly and have empathy with our clients’ needs. To quickly identify any problems and ensure each conversation is handled in a compassionate manner.
A good telephone manner is essential, together with excellent literacy and IT skills, coupled with the ability to work to tight deadlines, often under pressure.
This is a sensitive role which requires an individual with the ability to handle confidential information and correspondence.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
i. Under direction, to help ensure that the support for all new and ongoing cases is provided by ensuring contact is made within set timescales and according to set protocols.
ii. To ensure timely referral to the operations team when a volunteer drops out or a need for extra help is identified.
iii. To help answer all incoming calls general queries relating to community service support for our clients.
iv. Throughout the course of your work to ensure you record your responses on each individual case on our database. To contribute to the team by helping to also update volunteer information from each telephone conversation.
v. Under direction, to assist with responses to both incoming and outgoing to DL letters and update each case, to ensure a prompt reply and timely referral where necessary.
vi. Throughout the course of your work, to identify when on the phone, possible good stories to enable us to approach and persuade all individuals involved to submit an article for the newsletter.
vii. To handle telephone inquiries and relay messages where appropriate.
viii. To demonstrate a proactive, positive and flexible attitude to all our clients.
ix. To have flexibility to work additional hours for holiday and sickness cover when directed.
x. To liaise with all other staff of the Trust in a flexible manner.
xi. At all times to ensure and maintain a compassionate, professional and efficient public image for the Trust.

Policy and Networks Officer

About the role
FLEX is looking for a passionate advocate with a good understanding of the UK political system, of labour abuse and/or exploitation and human trafficking in the UK, and demonstrable experience of coalition working and building relationships with key stakeholders working in the anti-trafficking, employment rights, and/or immigration sectors. This recruitment comes at an exciting and challenging time for our work at the intersection of employment rights and immigration policy. This role will inform and support our work to influence and improve law, policy and practice affecting worker in high-risk sectors in the UK.
In this role, you will lead on FLEX’s advocacy at the London level and coordinate the joint research advocacy and project work of FLEX networks and coalitions. These currently include the Labour Exploitation Advisory Group (LEAG) and the Taskforce on Victims of Trafficking in Immigration Detention, two networks made of expert organisations directly supporting people who have experienced or are at risk of exploitation. Above all this role requires someone with real passion and commitment to FLEX’s work to end labour exploitation and an excitement for working in a small, dynamic team.

About the role
You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the SU. Working as part of a busy team at the heart of the SU, you will be accountable for making sure that the staff and students have the financial advice and support they need to deliver our charitable purpose.

Role Purpose
Brighter futures works with pupils (aged 13-18), we offer disadvantaged pupils struggling to engage with the regular school curriculum the opportunity to undertake a volunteering placement as well as the option of having a mentor. We support and empower pupils to gain skills and confidence in a new environment within the wider community, promoting a sense of belonging, whilst extending horizons and aspirations.
We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and compassionate Youth Engagement Manager to join our team in Edinburgh. The right candidate would be someone who can work flexibly and demonstrate an understanding and total commitment to our organisational values. This role will be working in partnership with St Thomas of Aquins R.C High School, the member of staff will be expected to work within the school.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
· To build relationships with secondary school pupils, particularly those on flexible timetables, who have complex and challenging barriers, acting in a non-judgemental way to support them through their Brighter Futures journey
· Consistently role modelling and displaying Volunteering Matters organisational values
· Deliver and develop the Brighter Futures Schools programme within in St Thomas of Aquins R.C High School, meeting ambitious targets and milestones, ensuring all young people engaged achieve positive outcome.
· Provide pre and post volunteering practical and emotional support to each pupil, helping to build their confidence and identify achievable goals as well support the pupil to complete awards and qualifications linked to their volunteering.
· Engaging with current charity partners, not for profit organisations and social enterprises and developing new ones in line with our Best Practice for under 18’s volunteering.
· Develop diverse, high quality and bespoke volunteer placements with third sector partners that reflect the needs and interests of pupils.
· Effective recruitment, selection, training, and ongoing support of a diverse pool of talented and dedicated volunteer mentors from a wide cross-section of the community
· To maintain Volunteering Matters standards around quality and effective Volunteer Management

Skills / Knowledge Required

I.T. equipment and infrastructure will be supplied.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Floating Support Worker to provide high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse and their children living in our dispersed refuge accommodation in Warwickshire. This service will provide emergency accommodation across Warwickshire with high-quality domestic abuse support, ‘by-and-for’ services for survivors of domestic abuse and their children.
The post holder will provide high quality support and safety planning to survivors and their children who are fleeing domestic abuse. This includes enabling survivors to access housing, welfare, benefits and legal advice. A key requirement is to provide personal welfare support and to ensure that survivors are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment in accordance with Refuge’s philosophical principles.
The Floating Support Worker (FSW) will carry a caseload of survivors of domestic abuse to enable them to provide a more holistic and intensive support package. They will work closely with survivors from the point of crisis through to move on from the emergency accommodation. FSWs will work in partnership with both statutory and voluntary sector partners to ensure that the whole range of survivors’ needs are met.
As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.
