About the role

This is a new role where you will the lead and deliver all HR functions, ensuring legal compliance, best practice, and consistency in people management across the organisation. This is a hands-on and strategic role, working closely with the Director of Finances and Resources to support a high-performing, inclusive, and values-aligned culture.

You will be responsible for the full employee lifecycle — from recruitment and onboarding to performance, development, employee relations, and offboarding. We’re recruiting a fundraiser and project development manager to build on our creative, award-winning work addressing climate change and fuel poverty in practical, tangible ways. 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who shares our vision of a different energy future: one in which energy is generated renewably and used sustainably whilst leaving no one behind in the journey. We are looking for someone who understands the energy sector and the unique role that a community energy group can play in the energy transition. It is a role for someone who can imagine community solutions to energy sector issues and to translate these into fundable projects. 

Your role will be to work with our board of Directors and staff to come to an understanding of our mission and values and our strategic priorities and develop and resource projects that will enable us to meet those priorities filling gaps in provision. In a practical sense, you will work with stakeholders e.g. our staff, our members, local community groups, local authorities and clients to generate ideas for future projects. The direction of travel should be broadly determined by our recent strategic review.

You will work closely with our CEO and our Board of Directors to prioritise project ideas. You will develop partnerships, refine project ideas, identify sources of funding (Trusts and Grantmakers, Corporate Giving), draft bids and cost delivery on a full cost recovery basis, submit bids and if funding is awarded, mobilise the team to deliver the work. This role provides a big and exciting challenge for someone who knows the energy sector, understands the opportunity of community and grassroots solutions, who brings excellent written communication skills and is willing to learn how to fundraise.

Responsibilities:

Grant Fundraising Support:

• Work with the Selce community (the board, staff, volunteers and other stakeholders) to generate new project ideas that support our strategic mission 
• Research and identify potential grant-making trusts, foundations, and statutory bodies that will fund project proposals
• Prepare high-quality grant applications; this includes calculating budget requirements, formulating proposals, writing proposals
• Manage the grant administration process and maintain accurate records of funding opportunities and applications in the fundraising calendar.

Commissioned Work & Tendering Support:

• Assist in researching and identifying opportunities for commissioned work.
• Support the preparation of tender documents and proposals, including gathering necessary information, budgeting and formatting submissions.
• Provide administrative support for contract negotiation and agreement finalisation.

Community Share Capital

• Draft community share offer brochures and associated documentation
• Support the implementation of strategies to raise community share capital.

Skills & Experience:

The ability to imagine and innovate and thereby build fundable project-based solutions working in partnership with stakeholders is more important that fundraising experience per se. This post would suit an Energy Policy graduate that has experience of either community energy or journalism (and therefore brings strong writing skills) or environmental projects

• Knowledge of the Energy Sector: Understand the energy markets and the energy industry. Also bring a good understanding of community energy, fuel poverty, and energy efficiency

The Roundhouse is a world-renowned music and arts venue in Camden and a registered charity supporting over 10,000 young people aged 11–30 each year. 

Through creative programmes, studio access, mentoring, and professional development, it empowers young people to build skills, grow their confidence, and pursue careers in the creative industries. From its iconic main space, to our state-of-the-art Creative Studios open to musicians, filmmakers, podcasters and performers aged 13-25, to the newly opened Roundhouse Works, a dedicated creative centre for 18–30 year olds – Roundhouse offers the space, support, and resources to help young people thrive.

The Roundhouse’s 13-person fundraising team has recently increased its ambitious annual target, largely driven by strong performance from the Trusts and Statutory team. Operating within a successful mixed economy model, the charity benefits from a diverse range of income sources – including ticket sales, commercial hires, and an increasingly ambitious programme of grants and philanthropy.

Trusts and statutory funding is a core part of this model. This year’s £600k  Trusts target has almost been met, supported by a strong pipeline, multi-year relationships, and a wide portfolio of fundable work across employability, wellbeing, and diversity. The postholder will also be responsible for Arts Council England reporting.

With programmes closely aligned to youth sector priorities and policy initiatives, this role offers the opportunity to build on solid foundations and contribute to the organisation’s next phase of growth.

As Senior Trusts and Statutory Manager, you will:

• Lead and manage a successful team (Trusts and Statutory Manager and Coordinator), delivering and growing the team’s £600k annual income target
• Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of trust and statutory prospects by crafting compelling proposals, narratives, and packages of support
• Steward key long-term funder relationships, including Arts Council England, and take responsibility for accurate reporting and statutory funding compliance

This is a varied and challenging position, but one that’s incredibly rewarding. Key duties:

You’ll take the lead on a wide range of digital marketing activity. This includes planning and delivering creative, insight-driven campaigns; developing a content strategy that connects with our audiences; managing end-to-end website performance, SEO, and digital advertising; and driving engagement in initiatives like BVA’s annual awards.

You’ll also work closely with our partner organisations, developing joint marketing plans that effectively promote exclusive and discounted benefits for BVA members.

You'll be bringing a strategic mindset as well as strong practical skills - from writing engaging content, overseeing multimedia production, and optimising email campaigns, to interpreting data in GA4 to improve performance. You should be confident working across various CMS platforms and multiple channels, with an eye for accessible, user-focused design and messaging.

As a Senior Employment Advisor, you will sit within the Employment & Careers team, supporting the direct delivery of our employment service by recruiting beneficiaries through outreach and supporting them to secure or progress in employment.

Reporting to Head of Employment & Careers you will be required to manage and support a varied and challenging caseload into employment by providing high quality information and guidance. You will be expected to conduct in-depth and comprehensive initial assessments in order to produce SMART and tailored action plans.

Your role will also require meaningful weekly contact with beneficiaries, conducting regular reviews of agreed actions and setting revised actions where applicable. It is imperative that you are able to demonstrate and encourage a positive mindset among beneficiaries by adopting a strengths based approach to their journey into employment.

As a Senior Employment Advisor, you will be expected to conduct employer engagement activity for the service, as well as support the delivery of job fairs and sector specific workshops. The role will also require you to ensure the service is at capacity levels by establishing and maintaining a network of referral partners and attending outreach events.

You will have at least 3 years of experience working in a similar post supporting disadvantaged groups back to work and/or training and education. You will have experience of working in an evidence-based practice and working to set targets. You will be equipped with influencing and persuasion skills.

You will also be responsible for conducting caseload reviews weekly/monthly and maintaining up to date beneficiary records on our internal systems.

The Caseworker NOVA Wales will manage and support a caseload of vulnerable veterans initially in South Wales. As an integral and highly valued member of the team, you will provide peer support and practical assistance to colleagues and people using the service.​

About the Role

We’re looking for a flexible, compassionate and organised Project Worker to join us from October. You’ll support our Winter Night Shelter, assist with guest services and casework, and lead on communications through social media and newsletters.

This varied role offers a unique insight into frontline homelessness work, while building skills in project delivery, volunteer management, and digital content creation.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Staffing 2 evening shelter shifts per week (Nov–Apr)

• Supporting volunteers and guests during shelter operations

• Assisting guests with appointments and move-on support

• Managing bookings for showers, laundry, and wellbeing sessions

• Running C4WS social media accounts and producing content

• Providing admin and reporting support to the team

• Helping with community programmes and practical logistics

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

• A recent graduate (any discipline) with a strong interest in homelessness or community work

• Friendly and empathetic, with great communication skills

• Organised and reliable – able to juggle tasks in a small, busy team

• Confident using social media professionally

• Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends as part of a rota

Desirable:

• Experience working or volunteering with vulnerable adults

• Knowledge of housing/homelessness issues

• Creative skills for digital or print content

• Driving licence (helpful but not essential)

Team: Community Fundraising

Location: North West covering Cheshire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Lancaster and Cumbria (successful candidate must be based within the region as this is a hybrid role working both from home and within the region)

Work pattern: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: Up to £30,809.93 per annum
