Job description

Lord’s Taverners

The Lord’s Taverners exists to positively impact the lives of young people facing the challenges of inequality. Through inclusive and transformative cricket programmes, we empower young people with disabilities and from disadvantaged communities across the UK and beyond.

We are now seeking an experienced, proactive and creative Events and Engagement Manager to join our Fundraising and Communications Directorate. Working within the Philanthropy and Engagement Events team, you will be responsible for a programme of fundraising, stewardship and engagement events that raise significant income while deepening relationships with supporters, members, volunteers and partners.

As we look to reach new audiences and diversify our event offering, you'll work closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Engagement Events to shape the future of our portfolio, developing innovative experiences that inspire support for our mission whilst also delivering established and respected events.

The Role

This is a varied and highly visible role that combines event delivery, fundraising, relationship management and team leadership. You will manage a portfolio of fundraising, stewardship and sporting events, including golf days, cricket events, supporter receptions and flagship fundraising occasions, overseeing activity from concept and planning through to delivery and evaluation.

Alongside delivering exceptional events, you will work with colleagues across fundraising, marketing and membership teams to maximise income, strengthen supporter engagement and identify opportunities to develop new events that support the charity's ambitious growth plans.

You will also line manage the Engagement Events Executive and help drive continuous improvement across the events programme.

Most importantly, you will help ensure that every event demonstrates the impact of the Lord's Taverners' work and inspires greater support for young people facing the challenges of inequality

About You

You are a confident and highly organised events professional with experience delivering successful fundraising, stewardship or engagement events.

You are equally comfortable managing complex event logistics, building relationships with senior stakeholders and identifying new opportunities to enhance income and supporter experiences. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy juggling multiple priorities and are motivated by delivering excellent results in a collaborative team setting.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrable experience managing and delivering fundraising, stewardship or engagement events from concept through to evaluation, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience of sporting events, ideally including golf days, cricket events or similar fundraising activities.
  • Experience managing event budgets and contributing to fundraising income targets.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage supporters, sponsors, volunteers, suppliers and senior individuals.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working across teams.
  • Excellent people management experience, with the ability to support, coach and develop others.
  • Experience using CRM systems and maintaining accurate supporter records.
  • A positive, proactive and solutions-focused mindset.

At Lord’s Taverners, sport is a means to an end. We are looking for people who share our belief in sport’s power to change lives, and who are motivated by impact, inclusion and opportunity for young people.

Above all, you will be motivated by our mission and aligned with our values: We Include, We Inspire, We Empower.
