Role Purpose

Responsible for helping to ensure the effective delivery of the Regional Fundraising strategy in relation to generating sustainable income from third parties and campaigns. You will primarily focus on recruiting support from community groups and associations, businesses and individuals across the North as well as supporting the growth and diversity of the challenge events portfolio.

Context and Background

The NSPCC’s mission is to end cruelty to children by fighting for every childhood. To carry out its charitable work the NSPCC relies on the fundraising support of people across the UK for 90% of it’s income. Within fundraising our aim is to provide maximum resources for the NSPCC. We aim to provide the best possible supporter experience, building long-term relationships to create an experience which is different, better and more rewarding than that of supporting any other charity.

The Associate Head of Mass Participation Fundraising is a member of the Supporter Led Fundraising Leadership Team and the Philanthropy & Partnerships Department. The role contributes to the overall leadership and management of the team and department as well as implementing the fundraising plans and strategies for the Engagement & Fundraising Directorate.

Mass Participation Fundraising is an important component in the NSPCC’s Engagement and Fundraising strategy. The post holder will lead and develop a first-class team to develop our portfolio, engaging and deepening the relationship with participants into long-term supporters and optimising the fundraising income they generate.

A key element of the role is to provide leadership across a diverse team, which includes Third Party Events, DIY fundraising and Schools Fundraising. To deliver effective fundraising activities from a mass participation portfolio of diverse products, events and opportunities. You'll provide strategic leadership across the full campaign lifecycle, overseeing campaign planning, delivery, budgeting, resourcing and evaluation. The Head of Corporate Partnerships & Business Development is a key role within the Income Generation Team, central to driving Carers Trust’s corporate income growth and delivering our strategy, A Fair World for Carers. The postholder will be responsible for developing and leading high‑value partnerships, shaping compelling propositions, and managing a portfolio of corporate relationships to achieve ambitious income targets.

We are seeking a confident and commercially minded leader with experience in business development and partnership management. The successful candidate will build and influence strong relationships across a wide range of stakeholders, requiring excellent communication, collaboration and leadership skills.

As the postholder you will:

• Work with the Executive and Leadership teams to transform strategic priorities into compelling fundable programmes, products and services.
• Take strategic and timely decisions balancing internal stakeholder’s priorities whilst also considering external trends and opportunities.
• Regularly monitor income and expenditure budgets and undertake re-forecasting and implement contingency plans if required.

Job Title: Employment Consultant (Northeast VALOUR)

Location: Home-based (within 1 hour travel to Durham) with regular travel across the Northeast

Salary: £33,174

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week (part time or flexible working options considered)

Contract: 2 years fixed term with possibility of extension

This enables us to widen our impact for veterans and their families by ensuring individuals are supported into meaningful and sustainable employment, using an approach that is tailored to their specific needs.

We are seeking a passionate and person-centred Employment Consultant to join our team to deliver VALOUR in the Northeast. This is a role for someone who believes in potential, not limitations – someone who can walk alongside clients with empathy and determination, empowering them to take ownership of their employment journey.

You’ll provide tailored information, advice and guidance to help veterans secure meaningful and sustainable work, managing a diverse caseload with care and professionalism. Using coaching, mentoring and strengths-based approaches, you will help individuals identify their goals, build resilience and move confidently towards lasting employment outcomes.

Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You will develop strong partnerships with regional organisations to generate referrals and address wider barriers such as mental health, housing or addiction, while also building strong relationships with local employers to create real opportunities for your clients, and sharing best practice with your colleagues in the team.

With a strong understanding of local labour markets and safeguarding practices, you’ll maintain high-quality case records, contribute to continuous improvement, and actively participate in team development. Adaptability, initiative and resilience are key, as we respond to the evolving needs of our clients and the communities we serve.
