In 2018, the then Prime Minister launched the government’s first ever loneliness strategy (which we lobbied for and helped shape) at a Cares Family social club. We have received coverage in The Economist, The Times, The Guardian, The Telegraph and on BBC1’s News at Ten and Channel 4 News, as well as support from Russell Howard and Florence and the Machine. And in 2018, our Founder and CEO was appointed one of 20 inaugural Obama Fellows, bringing new attention to our issues and work.

ABOUT OUR IMPACT AND LEARNING
The Cares Family has undergone four external evaluations which demonstrate the impact of our work. However, measuring the value of human relationships, which are necessarily subjective, in a way that is simultaneously scientific, community-led and respectful of people’s full stories, is challenging.
We are therefore seeking to build on the learning from our four evaluations, to embed impact evaluation techniques that are consistent with our community-first philosophy, and to do so in a way that challenges top-down evaluation approaches which can be reductive and isolating.
To do so, we need to raise the bar on our monitoring and evaluation, data capture and analysis; to set up better processes to analyse and evaluate that data for learning purposes; and to put in place an organisational Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning framework to enable us to better measure our outcomes.

We are therefore seeking a Head of Impact and Learning with a solid understanding of monitoring and evaluation approaches as well as systems, data, analysis and, crucially, people.

Wellbeing Enterprises (WE) has received funding from the Future Innovation Fund to develop a Social Prescribing Training Academy for the Liverpool City Region (LCR). The Academy’s aim is to bolster the capacity and develop the skills and competencies of the social prescribing workforce in the LCR. It will also provide pathways to volunteering, work experience and employment for local people.
Social prescribing links patients to non-medical sources of support in the community as a way of responding to the wider biopsychosocial needs of patients. This approach is typically facilitated with the support of a Social Prescribing Link Worker / Wellbeing Officer.
As the Academy Tutor, you will play a pivotal role operationalising the Academy, delivering interactive teaching and ongoing learner support.
