About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, purpose-led organisation and play an important role in the growth and sustainability of its consultancy and training services.

Working within The Peer Partnership, a specialist peer support service, you will focus on generating new business, developing relationships with potential clients and key decision-makers, and increasing demand for The Peer Partnership's services, which include training, consultancy and service delivery.

The Peer Partnership helps organisations develop effective, safe and user-led peer support services for people living with long-term physical and mental health conditions and people with protected characteristics.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and developing new sales opportunities across the UK
  • Building strong relationships with potential clients, commissioners, stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Generating and converting leads for training, consultancy and service delivery
  • Developing approaches to increase awareness and demand for The Peer Partnership's services
  • Promoting the value and impact of peer support
  • Monitoring sales and income generation activity and using results to continually improve approaches
  • Supporting the ongoing growth and financial sustainability of the service

About you

You will be proactive, ambitious and creative, with experience of generating new business, sales or developing income streams.

An excellent communicator and relationship builder, you will be comfortable engaging influential stakeholders and decision-makers and turning opportunities into new business.

You will have:

  • Experience in sales, income generation, business development or a related area
  • A track record of developing leads and securing new business
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • The confidence to engage commissioners and senior stakeholders
  • A commercial mindset combined with a commitment to delivering an excellent customer experience
  • The ability to monitor results, identify what is working and adapt your approach
  • An interest in peer support and improving outcomes for people experiencing challenging circumstances

You do not necessarily need previous charity sector experience, but you will need to share the organisation's values of respect, empowerment and inclusion.

About the organisation

You will be joining a small charity with a 30-year history of providing high-quality support services.

Its specialist peer support service, The Peer Partnership, works with people living with long-term health conditions and organisations to develop effective, safe and user-led peer support services. Through consultancy, training and service development, it shares expertise and best practice to help organisations establish and strengthen peer support.

Benefits include 26 days' holiday plus bank holidays pro rata, a 6% pension contribution, ongoing training and professional development, regular one-to-one supervision, flexible working options and a Cycle to Work scheme.
