Role Requirements
Site wide general housekeeping service – ensure that the housekeeping services is of an acceptable level and is consistent across site.
- Carry out a cleaning service in allocated buildings/rooms/areas ensuring that daily tasks are completed according to the standard operating procedures in relation to the cleanliness/hygiene standards.
- Follow infection control procedures whenever carrying out duties and ensure procedures are followed should there be an infection control outbreak.
- Liaise with the Housekeeping Supervisor and House Staff on a daily basis – carrying out special requests in relation to Housekeeping.
- Ensure safe storage of cleaning materials and equipment and sufficient stock is maintained – informing the Housekeeping Supervisor of stock requiring ordering.
- Assist in the cleaning of communal areas on a daily basis and cleaning of carpets, curtains and high dusting on a rotating schedule.
- Ensure that any repairs required to fixtures and fittings are reported to the designated Facilities Helpdesk as soon as possible and any issues are reported to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Assist in routine housekeeping audits as outlined in the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and ensure any works are to agreed service levels.
- Prioritise work to complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Assist other members of the Site Services and Facilities teams as required.
- Undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.

FareShare Midlands is the region’s largest food redistribution charity, fighting food poverty and hunger by tackling waste. We source good quality food that is surplus to requirements from the food industry. An army of volunteers help redistribute this food to over 500 frontline charities and community groups such as school breakfast clubs, community centres and organisations supporting those who are homeless, unemployed, socially isolated and recovering from addiction. These organisations provide meals and food parcels to over 67,000 vulnerable people every week. We also support people through our Employability programmes, enabling them to learn skills and find rewarding work – some for the first time.
Hunger is a growing issue in the UK and while there is surplus food that is otherwise going to waste, we believe that this food should be used to feed people first.
The Role
FareShare Midlands is a high-profile charity with stakeholders from varying sectors not least over 500 companies in the food industry and FareShare UK. You will work towards, and achieve, a best-in-class in operation not accepting standards or a service that falls short of this.
As the senior person on site, you will be the key point of contact for operations, logistics and stock allocation for your region. You will be responsible for all compliance issues including food hygiene, health & safety and security of the depot and the safety and wellbeing of all visitors, contractors, depot staff and volunteers.
The main role will be to lead the successful day to day operations and ensure the ongoing success of the FareShare Midlands Regional Centres. This will involve working closely with staff and volunteers to ensure that all activities, including operational and order processing are completed to the agreed standard & daily timetable.
With colleagues in the Supply chain & Development functions, you will help develop new operational/logistic activity and lead on the implementation of growth of your RCs activity, capacity and output.
You will report to the Regional Warehouse Operations Manager and will be a key member of the Operations team across the Midlands region. You will identify and share good practise within and outside the Midlands, working closely with colleagues in the other regional centres.
In agreement with the Regional Warehouse Operations Manager, you will set out relevant Ops KPIs and targets and will join daily calls and weekly meetings to discuss and help resolve issues across the Midlands region, working as ‘one team’ with colleagues from other functions and regions.
Opening times:
Over the week the depot will be open for the hours required, with staff working 37.5 hours per week which may include working in evenings and weekends on a rota basis if the performance and growth of the region requires it. You will work with the Regional Operations Manager to implement the shift patterns required to provide the service to our members and communities.
Main responsibilities
Job responsibilities will prioritise but not be limited to:
1. Operations:
· Co-ordinate the work schedule and daily activities of the depot, within the guidelines of FareShare Midlands policies and procedures on food safety and Health & Safety
· Be responsible for the supervision, development, and training of all staff & volunteers
· Ensure that all shifts are efficiently planned, controlled, and resourced at least a week in advance.
· Maintain and use the in-house stock management system, with responsibility for the training of depot staff and volunteers on the database and accuracy of stock. Maintain good relations and communications with food suppliers and community member recipient projects, responding to any complaints or service issues with pace and courtesy as set out in our Service Charter
· Ensure that the vans are maintained as roadworthy and legal (taxed and insured)
· Ensure that community food members in your region receive a service, supply and variety of food that is expected / agreed, working closely with the Development Manager to flag potential issues with supply and/or service
2. Health & Safety, Food Hygiene & Equal Opportunities:
· Be responsible for the Health & Safety and security of the operation, including warehouse, vehicles, staff, visitors, and volunteers
· To support health and safety advisor in carrying out risk assessments
· Ensure compliance with all FareShare policies and procedures and industry standards as required by food donors and regulators, and maintain gold standard at audit level

3. Human Resources

· Work with the Volunteer co-ordinator to recruit and train the right volunteers and other work placement trainees within the project

Person Specification - Skills, Qualities & Experience
Essential
· Established (minimum 3 years) warehousing knowledge including managing Staff and Rota’s.
· Depot management experience, managing stock control, payment reconciliation and putting all required warehouse processes in place.
· Stock management of perishable goods, putting processes and checks in place from goods in to goods out, creating stock count processes, managing stock rotation.
· Line management experience, including projects and associated budgets to time, to cost and to quality.
· Commercial experience; managing budgets, identifying cost savings, revenue generation and meeting KPI targets.
· Familiarity with and experience of working in CI or Lean culture including leading on review and improvement processes.

About the role
As Facilities & Governance Coordinator you will act as a first point of contact in our London office, and work in collaboration with the Governance team across their full range of activities, and consult regularly with the rest of the organisation, Trustees and Members. You will be responsible for coordinating meetings and services across the Institute and providing effective and efficient administrative support across the team.

HALO has been working in Angola since 1994, and now employs over 1,400 staff (47% women) working in demining, explosive ordnance risk education, and conservation. There are over 70 different types of landmines in Angola from an estimated 41 years of minelaying during the war for independence and civil war which persisted from 1961 to 2002. The programme currently has twenty ongoing contracts from a diverse set of institutional, private, and corporate donors. As a signatory of the Ottawa Treaty, HALO supports the Government of Angola in reaching its treaty obligations. To date, HALO has cleared over 100,000 mines and made over 25km2 of land safe for use across the country.

About the role:
HALO is seeking a dynamic and solution-oriented Country Head to lead the strategic direction of the programme in accordance with HALO’s organisational mission and goals. The Country Head will lead a senior leadership team of six mid-level managers who work across mine action operational delivery, environmental project delivery, human resources, finance, strategy, support services and a Chief of Staff. They will work in partnership with the Regional Director, Deputy Regional Director, and other HQ functional leads. The Country Head will serve as the legal and primary HALO representative in Angola and be accountable for the programme’s staff and assets, the execution of donor projects and relations with local authorities and partners.
The Country Director is responsible for leading the strategic direction of the programme, including the design, review, and implementation of the programme’s strategy in accordance with HALO’s organisational objectives and charitable purpose. This includes establishing long-term strategic goals for the programme and developing the capacity and strength of the existing team. The Angola programme has projects spanning across two of HALO’s three strategic goals and is especially focused on the expansion of activities surrounding women’s empowerment and inclusivity, and the linkages between conflict, conservation and mine action. The successful candidate to this role will be a strategic thinker, who can demonstrate previous experience successfully building capacity to achieve strategic objectives.
The Angola programme currently has twenty ongoing contracts from a variety of governmental, private, and commercial donors with an annual turnover of circa $16 million. The Country Head will oversee and lead the two programmatic Heads responsible for execution and delivery donor projects: Head of Mine Action, and Head of Environment. The Country Head will ensure that the other senior managers provide the necessary support to the programmatic Heads to ensure they have the resources, capacity and support required to operate in an effective and compliant manner. The successful candidate will need to have exceptional liaison skills as they work closely with the Head of Strategy to maintain and foster critical stakeholder relationships in Angola, specifically with the Government of Angola as the programmes’ largest donor. The Country Head will also need exceptional organisational and financial acumen as they are accountable for the programme’s financial and legal compliance with internal and national policies and legislation.
The successful candidate will need to be an inspiring leader, capable of managing the large and diverse workforce with a focus on empowerment, communication, and professional development. The Country Director will be needed to work on improving processes and procedures with a desire to lead on implementing impactful systematic change. This role requires a candidate with strong coordination capabilities, and a commitment to lead by example to maintain high professional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the programme and foster a positive culture aligned with HALO’s values and standards, protecting, and enhancing the welfare of HALO’s staff and beneficiaries.
- Provide strategic input and support regarding the development of emerging programme opportunities and thematic growth inline with the programme and organisational strategies.

- Oversee and coordinate the senior leadership team to ensure budgetary and project contractual compliance.
- Manage the Head of Finance and regulate financial reporting to enforce monthly, annual and project cycle deadlines and internal and external regulatory requirements are met.
- Lead the in-country team, building morale, and providing empowerment, clear communication, and professional development.
- Provide leadership and line management to direct reports, including ensuring the setting of clear objectives, regular feedback, and development opportunities, and completing annual performance appraisals.
- Ensure the programme operates in accordance with national labour law and HALO’s HR regulations including safeguarding, health and safety, and security. Ensure total adoption and integration HR policies and systems, and lead on implementing impactful and responsive systematic change.
- Inspire, mentor, and manage across direct reports and the wider team, providing support to performance improvement or disciplinary processes for staff as required.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of the political, military, economic and security situation in the country to understand and evaluate risks as well as needs and opportunities.
- Review and assess existing and emerging risks in the country and provide or recommend appropriate mitigation measures (to include the Foreign Terrorist Organisation threat and sanctions).
- Ensure operational safety, emergency response and crisis management response and preparedness in coordination with the senior leadership team.
- Represent HALO with key stakeholders to maintain relationships with partners and donor representatives in country and raise HALO’s profile by building complementary partnerships and securing new funding opportunities.
- Review operational, financial, safeguarding, or other major incident investigation reports as required, ensuring timely and sufficient corrective actions are taken.
- Implement programme communications strategy and raise HALO’s profile through engagement with the media and with potential private donors and supporters.
- Report regularly and as required to HALO HQ and the Regional Director.
- Where appropriate, act as representative for the Regional Director / Deputy Regional Director.
- Carry out any other duties as required or directed in support of HALO’s mission.
Essential Requirements:
- Significant senior leadership experience within the INGO/ Humanitarian sector.
- Significant senior leadership experience of full cycle project management including design, implementation, evaluation, and accountability with a track record of achieving results.

The Helen Bamber Foundation (HBF) is a specialist UK charity which provides expert care and support for refugees and people seeking asylum who have experienced extreme human cruelty such as torture or human trafficking. We work with hundreds of clients every year from all over the world. HBF delivers a specialist Model of Integrated Care that addresses the complex needs and vulnerabilities of survivors. Through the Model of Integrated Care, the HBF offers survivors access to an individually tailored programme of specialist psychological care and medical advisory services, legal protection including providing expert medico-legal documentation, welfare and housing support, and creative and skills activities within an integration programme. Where someone is a survivor of human trafficking they benefit from HBF’s counter-trafficking programme of support. The Foundation’s expertise is renowned in the field.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Client Services Team which operates within HBF’s vibrant, multi-disciplinary team. The duties of Client Services Administrator are two-fold 1) is to host our busy reception area and friendly waiting room; welcome clients and visiting professionals to the Helen Bamber Foundation and attend to any needs they might have and 2) to oversee the booking of appointments between clients and staff/volunteers across the organisation; liaising with third parties and clinicians in relation to Initial Assessments; booking and managing doctor’s diaries for our Medical Advisory Services and the booking of interpreters across the organisation. You will be at the heart of an exciting team of experts, working as the face of HBF and the first point of contact for both external and internal queries. You will be a self-motivating team player, organised, efficient and have a compassionate mind-set.
The role will work closely with the other person in post as Client Services Administrator and jointly manage the workload. The role also includes assistance and general facilities support to the Senior Operations and HR Coordinator.
