It is a busy and dynamic supported housing service for young people aged 16 – 21 years. Commissioned by Nottinghamshire County Council, they offer a high quality, strengths based support service which aims to build the skills, confidence and independence of the young people who come through their doors.

The Role

As their Night Porter, you will undertake a varied range of tasks on the night shift and not one shift is the same as you will be involved in directly responding and helping young people with any issues or concerns they may have, whilst also managing the site, conducting safety checks and operating surveillance of the building. Other duties may include but are not limited to:

• Booking residents and visitors in and out of the building and log all relevant information.
• Logging all complaints, accidents, potential risks, and incidents of anti-social behaviour in accordance with policies and procedures
• Keeping a day-to-day log of events and happenings when on duty and ensure effective handover of information to relevant staff.
• Conducting regular security checks including fire alarm, emergency lighting and fire extinguishers and report any concerns.

About you:

You will be compassionate, resilient and have the skills to de-escalate potential incidents through your fantastic communication skills. You will need to be able to confidently diffuse difficult situations which may arise as a result of tension or disagreements between young people, and be understanding of the needs of people from diverse social, cultural and racial backgrounds.

Although training will be provided, you must be comfortable with lone working and using your own initiative. It is beneficial if you have an understanding of professional boundaries working with a vulnerable client group and/or experience of working with a vulnerable client group. A basic level of literacy and numeracy is essential as well as caring for the safety and wellbeing of young people.

Working times:

The service operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year including bank holidays and weekends. Staff will be required to work 37 hours including weekends across 4 shifts. 8:45pm -7am

About this role

• The Head of Finance is a newly created post, following a period of review within Finance and operations.
• You will manage Finance whilst delivering effective IT systems and HR, with the support of external specialists.

Main responsibilities:

• To oversee all areas of financial planning, budgeting and forecasting to ensure optimal use of resources and achievement of key strategic and financial objectives.
• To provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and mitigate risks.
• To collaborate with other departments to guide financial operations, evaluate investments, manage HR, and comply with legal and statutory regulation and compliance.
• To deliver an effective IT infrastructure, working with consultants.

Financial management:

• Lead strategic and business planning initiatives, including the annual budget programme, and assist in funding applications with input across the management teams.
• Be responsible for all business, financial and governance aspects, including tax and audit, risk management and legal, with the aid of external professional support where required.
• Act as Company Secretary for the Charity and its commercial businesses.
• Manage the internal and external audit process.

Financial procedures, oversight, and reporting:

• ? Manage financial operations in line with charity accounting procedures and SORP regulations.
• ? Maintain a 3-5-year business plan.

Ideal experience:

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
• Ability to contribute to strategic planning and align financial objectives with organisational goals.

We are thrilled to again be partnering with a well known children's health charity to support the recruitment of a new Individual Giving Manager (Acquisition)

What’s on offer:

• A competitive Salary - £37,000 - £42,000 (Depending on experience)
• Hybrid Variable (either tied to London and / or Bristol office) or Home Based within the UK
• Full-time 35 hours per week

The Individual Giving Manager will be responsible for reaching new supporters, developing and implementing engaging and innovative marketing activities that attract a range of new donors for the charity. They will use a variety of channels including digital, face-to-face and DRTV, and work with teams across the charity to ensure the impact of all activity is maximised.
 
Key responsibilities include:

• Working with the Head of Individual Giving and Legacies create and review plans to deliver strategies within agreed income and cost thresholds, generating sustainable year on year growth.
• Working with the finance business partner prepare financial business cases to drive the development of the supporter acquisition strategy. Make the case for new fundraising methods with clear understanding of ROI, supporter acquisition cost, and channel payback models.
• Monitor performance against budget: ensure financial targets are met, monitor any shortfalls, and take remedial action as necessary.
• Experience of Individual Giving and acquisition programmes.
• Manage agency and supplier relationships - including with creative agencies, list brokers, media buyers, fulfilment houses and external professional fundraising organisations - to deliver agreed plans and campaigns.
