ROLE PURPOSE:

This role sits at the heart of our Philanthropy and Partnerships team and is essential to making ShelterBox's life-saving work possible. You'll help us build and nurture relationships with major donors, corporate partners, trusts, and foundations - ensuring every supporter feels connected, valued, and inspired by the impact they make.

No two days will be the same. You'll coordinate tailored communications, events, and stewardship activities that bring donors closer to our mission. You'll keep our systems and processes running smoothly and support everything from emergency appeals and prospect research to crafting compelling proposals and coordinating engagement opportunities. Every task you take on will help families receive emergency shelter when disaster strikes.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

• Deliver exceptional stewardship: Support the creation and delivery of tailored communication and engagement plans that make high-value partners and supporters feel connected to ShelterBox and inspired to continue their support.
• Lead on donor communications: Coordinate, write, and design our monthly newsletter for major donors and partners, ensuring it is informative and engaging.
• Support emergency appeals: Assist in producing timely, compelling communications during emergency responses, connecting them directly to ShelterBox's impact.
• Prospect research: Work with the Stewardship and Research Officer to identify and research potential new partners and donors.
• Event coordination: Help plan and deliver engagement events for high-level audiences, ensuring memorable experiences for attendees.
• Corporate engagement: Assist the Corporate Partnerships Officer in delivering unique engagement products for corporate partners, such as our .
• Trust fundraising: Support the Trusts and Foundations Manager with writing proposals for smaller trusts, bringing ShelterBox's work to life for potential supporters.
• Data and CRM management: Keep our CRM database (Microsoft Dynamics) accurate and up to date, manage data cleaning, and ensure compliance with Data Protection regulations.
• Process improvement: Maintain and update team processes to ensure efficiency and best practice.
• Insight and reporting: Work with the Stewardship and Research Officer to gather and analyse data on fundraising performance and donor experience.
• Financial processes: Ensure finance and procurement tasks are completed accurately and on time.
• Compliance and learning: Stay up to date with fundraising legislation and codes of practice and seek opportunities for peer learning and development.
• Professional communication: Handle correspondence and communicate confidently with supporters by phone, email, and in person.
• Team collaboration: Provide general administrative support and foster strong relationships across the Philanthropy and Partnerships team and wider organisation.
• Represent ShelterBox: Act as an ambassador for our values and mission at all times.
• Other duties: Undertake reasonable tasks as required to support the team's success.

About the role

As Store Manager, you will lead one of our flagship Mary's Living & Giving stores – a premium, fashion-forward charity retail concept created in partnership with Mary Portas. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Chiswick store, ensuring that it not only meets its commercial goals but continues to offer a unique, community-focused shopping experience that reflects the MLG brand.

• Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse volunteer team, creating an inclusive, supportive and empowering culture that celebrates each individual's contribution.

About you

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Proven leadership experience in retail or charity retail, with a track record of managing and motivating teams (paid or volunteer).

• A strong sense of fashion retailing, with the ability to curate, present and sell products to a fashion-conscious, label-driven customer base.

• Commercial awareness and experience of working to sales targets, with the ability to interpret data and identify growth opportunities.

The International Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing complex, high-risk financial operations related to our partner's international grantmaking and emergency relief support. This role combines financial leadership with flexibility and responsiveness to needs in volatile contexts, particularly for grassroots movements and activist groups globally - managing overseas financial transactions, handling multi-currency payments, managing exchange rate risks.

Key Responsibilities

Grant Finance Oversight

- Lead all financial processes for international grants: budgeting, transfers, reconciliations, reporting.
- Manage multi-currency payments into high-risk regions; ensure compliance, mitigate fraud/diversion risk.
- Strengthen internal controls and financial systems for expanding global operations.
- Be agile to respond quickly to humanitarian needs.

Risk & Compliance

- Ensure due diligence (KYC, AML) and enhanced vetting particularly for overseas partners and informal/unincorporated networks.
- Comply with HMRC and UK banking rules, counter-terrorism finance regulations.  Work with the Compliance, Risk & Innovation team to improve policies/procedures.

Client & Stakeholder Management

- Act as finance lead for philanthropic clients working in relief and grassroots activism.
- Provide advice on financial risk, best practices.
- Foster relationships with grassroots partners; ensure transparent, accessible reporting.
- Apply trauma-informed approaches in working with clients in conflict or activist settings.

Humanitarian & Global Finance Expertise

- Use knowledge of international finance especially in difficult contexts (e.g. unincorporated groups, sanctions, restricted jurisdictions) to design processes that satisfy both donors and grassroots partners.
- Monitor emerging risks globally and help shape responses.

Essential Experience & Knowledge

• Significant experience in finance, grantmaking or compliance in international/ humanitarian/ philanthropic settings.
• Experience in managing overseas financial transactions, handling multi-currency payments, managing exchange rate risks etc.
• Experience dealing with high-risk jurisdictions and partners, including unincorporated or grassroots networks.
• Familiarity with due diligence, risk frameworks, KYC/AML, UK charity and banking regulations.

Desirable

• Arabic (spoken/written) skills preferred
• Past work in NGOs, fiscal hosts, or international grant making.
• Experience with cryptocurrencies.

As our Legal Counsel you will report to the Head of Legal and support them in providing legal and compliance support to all departments across WaterAid in the UK and work closely with them to provide support on commercial and partnership contracts as well as general legal advice to support WaterAid’s work to drive sustainable change.

In this role, you will:

• Be a point of contact for all legal queries across WaterAid. This includes responding to enquiries from colleagues and proactively identifying legal issues along with any broader organisational risks to ensure appropriate legal advice and provided;
• review and negotiate contracts between WaterAid UK and third parties, in particular commercial contracts, contract for services including consultancy contracts and partnership agreements;
• assist with the drafting, and updating of contract templates;
• contribute to the development of policies and training for colleagues to drive best practice in contract management and value for money
• responding to risk by ensuring contracts are negotiated effectively;

To be successful, you will need:

Role Purpose

We have been operating Volunteer Centre Newcastle (VCN) since 2005. The Volunteer Centre provides a wide range of support, around all things volunteering, to over 1200 charities, organisations, and groups locally. We also support 2500+ members of the public each year, who are interested in volunteering and need some support to get started.

As our Volunteer Centre Officer, you will play an important role in promoting and supporting volunteering across Newcastle. You will help more people get involved in volunteering and make sure that volunteering is valued and recognised across the city.

We are looking for someone who understands “good practice” around volunteering, can work flexibly, and who shows a strong commitment to our organisations values.

Working alongside the Volunteer Centre Manager, you will:

Support charities, organisations and groups in that involve volunteers

This includes giving advice on how to manage volunteers, helping them create and promote volunteer roles, supporting them to take on more volunteers, offering guidance on policies and processes, delivering training, taking part in volunteer network forums, and helping solve problems when needed.

Support people who want to volunteer, helping them take their next steps

You will talk with members of the public to understand their interests, goals, and any support needs. You will match them with suitable volunteering opportunities. Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide effective support running a busy Volunteer Centre, working closely with various other stakeholders such as colleagues, volunteers, partners, Newcastle City Council and the public

• Supporting the Project Manager to manage a group of internal volunteers, ensuring they are valued and supported

• Supporting the city’s volunteering database which is hosted on VCN website, ensuring opportunities are kept up to date, and helping individuals to find and apply for a suitable role

What the role looks like

The Financial Education Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting and onboarding schools to embed our free financial education resources into primary school classrooms in the central belt of Scotland. The Financial Education Delivery Coordinator will need to work flexibly with each school to best meet their needs, according to our policies and guidelines. The Analyst will serve as a key member of the UK team, supporting our core areas of research, communications, partnership, and client work. They will help us to develop our technical expertise, with new statistical modelling approaches to understanding public opinion and new software scripts to automate our workflows. The role will be based in our London office Monday-Thursday with Friday at the office or working at home. The postholder will report to our Research and Analysis Manager.

Analysis

• Translating public opinion data into insights for diverse audiences including policymakers, media, and the general public

• Performing analysis using techniques including cluster analysis, multi-level regression modelling, conjoint analysis and MaxDiff analysis

• Telling compelling stories through creative data visualisation

• Proactively expanding the team’s analytical capabilities

Research 

• End-to-end project management for public opinion research projects from design to execution, analysis and presentation of insights

• Conducting quantitative fieldwork including survey drafting and executing advanced survey experiments

• Upholding a culture of best research practice, including supporting global colleagues with research queries

• Continually innovating on More in Common’s research methodologies 

Dissemination and partnerships

• An ability to write well and communicate technical stories to non-technical audiences

• Managing external relationships with clients, partners and research vendors

• Identifying and recruiting new partners and opportunities across business, civil society and the public sector

• Designing insights products to disseminate our insights and research

• Drafting and co-authoring public-facing research reports and briefings

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Advanced proficiency coding is a requirement for this role, preferably in R. Candidates who do not have advanced proficiency in coding should consider applying for the Research Associate role.

Beyond this, the following would be an asset:

• Demonstrated expertise extracting meaningful insights from complex data sets

• Strong data visualisation skills, with the ability to communicate insights to diverse audiences

• Good understanding of statistical methods including regression modelling and hypothesis testing

• Keen interest in learning new analytical techniques

• A track record of project management

• Curiosity for understanding and engaging people, and a desire to tell new stories that focus on building upon common ground in Britain today 

• An understanding of the UK political system and a keen interest in current affairs and UK public policy

We understand that not everyone with the required skillset with this role will come from a political background - that is fine! We are more interested in your technical skillset and your willingness to apply it to tackling some of the biggest issues in understanding the forces driving British society apart.

Location: Hearing Dogs Head Office, Saunderton near High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, with very flexible hybrid working.
Salary: £55,000 per annum.
Contract: Permanent, full-time hours. 

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, whose mission is to see a time when no deaf person feels alone, is seeking a Senior Trusts and Foundations Manager to develop and secure six and seven figure, multi-year grants from trusts, foundations and other institutional grant funders, e.g. the National Lottery.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has been creating life-changing partnerships between hearing dogs and deaf recipients since 1982. As well as acting as an ear to their partners and alerting them to sounds, the charity’s clever and expertly trained dogs help deaf people to live life with confidence and independence, whilst providing love, companionship and emotional support.

Following on from a strategic review, the charity is now building a new Income Generation Directorate, to enable them to transform many more lives across the UK. This role will be critical to help Hearing Dogs reach their goals to diversify income, grow their philanthropy programme and increase engagement and impact.

Reporting to the Head of Trusts and Foundations, this role will work as part of a small but high department to deliver objectives and income targets. The role will deputise for the Head of Trusts and Foundations as required and support in the development of the strategy for the department, working across the organisation with colleagues, senior staff, trustees and external trusts and foundation contacts. A key focus of the role will be making bids and writing applications to maximise financial support from charitable trusts and foundations in a team which has a target of £1.15m in 2025-26, growing to £2.1m by 2029-30.

The ideal candidates will have a substantial background in Trusts and Foundation fundraising within the charity sector and experience of delivering excellent stewardship with external stakeholders. You will have experience of large scale and complex (£ six/seven figure) bid writing for specific projects over multiple years. Excellent and persuasive writing skills and a sharp eye for details will be essential alongside strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills. You will be approachable, with a  ‘hands-on’ approach and a flexible ‘can do’ proactive attitude and, importantly, you will have a commitment to understand the needs of Deaf People and a commitment to our values and  culture.
