We are recruiting for an experienced Head of Finance for our small and energetic Accounts team. The School of Philosophy and Economic Science is a registered educational charity offering courses to adults, both in person and online. 

This position gives you an opportunity to get involved in all aspects of charity finance, from managing a team to reporting to the Trustee board, coordinating budgets and overseeing our annual audit. It's a busy and varied role.

The Head of Finance reports directly to the charity's General Manager and Treasurer.

The purpose of the role is twofold:

1. To maintain and improve accounting reporting and controls
2. To manage, support, and develop the Senior Accountant and Accounts Assistant

This is a true hybrid role, working from home with two days a week in our West London office. We offer 28 days of annual leave a year, with Bank Holidays and the period between Christmas and New Year in addition to this leave.

As the Peer to Peer Groupwork Facilitator you will set up, lead and deliver a year-long peer to peer group programme for bereaved families who have experienced the sudden and unexpected death of a baby or young child.

The groupwork is based on a programme led by Harvard University and Boston’s Children’s hospital and has structured sessions drawing upon psychological model of CBT, although the sessions are not therapeutic. Each session has a theme and incorporates education, guidance and support.

You will establish and deliver a new peer online support group, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery and creating a safe and welcoming space for bereaved families.

Outside the group sessions you will be responsible for managing the administration and evaluation of the service, including and collection of questionnaires and feedback required for reporting purposes and supporting members with any signposting requirements processing referrals, carrying out eligibility screening, monitoring the waiting list and inputting and keeping all database member and service records up to date.

It is a key time to be joining the charity and helping us to continue to save babies’ lives and support bereaved families. The charity has been hugely successful, but the work is far from done. The impact of the sudden death of a baby is wide and never goes away, as we know from the families that we support. This drives all our work, across each department. We are now seeking an experienced, solution-focussed Head of Finance and IT to join our Senior Management Team. This role oversees the financial operations and drives the development of our integrated IT strategy, ensuring first-class financial and IT service across the organisation.

In this role you will ensure timely and accurate management and financial reporting across the organisation, fostering a culture of financial accountability and ensuring that all stakeholders have a sense of co-ownership of this; working closely with the senior management team you will support grant applications to ensure that the terms and conditions of these grants are understood and complied with. You will also manage our cloud-based IT services to support the delivery of our strategic plan, ensuring best value IT across the organisation.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or CIPFA) with a solid understanding of IT systems management. They will have proven experience in both financial and IT leadership roles, working closely with senior managers and collaborating with a range of internal and external stakeholders at senior levels. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to present complex financial data to diverse audiences to ensure the organisation's financial sustainability. Experience in the charity sector and in developing financial strategy is essential for this role.

• Provide strategic consultancy to help, support, advise and partner with a portfolio of dioceses in the north of the country as they develop their mission, people and financial plans in line with strategic priorities of the Church's Vision and Strategy.

The facilitator role is a freelance position. We offer flexible hours with delivery taking place during school hours/term time in schools, partner offices or community event spaces.

Purpose of Role

• To understand Ramblers’ audience behaviours by analysing customer data
• To design and implement data solutions to drive revenue growth, supporter engagement, membership acquisition, retention and lifetime value from new and existing audiences
• To deliver secure, easily interpreted, and accessible information to staff members and volunteers about the Ramblers members, supporters, groups, walks and accounts.
• Democratise data by ensuring it is relevant, accurate and accessible.
• To create and improve existing processes within the Ramblers through the use of automations and technology to improve staff productivity and produce specialised outcomes.
• To support leadership in monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of campaigns and initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the organisation to use data in its operations, using first party and third-party data sources to facilitate more informed and reliable decision making.
• Working in collaboration with teams across the organisation (particularly Income and Marketing) to develop and implement data driven approaches to income generation with a particular focus on quantitative modelling and testing.
• Working with internal Digital and IT teams, ensure information flows between systems (Salesforce, the Data Warehouse, Marketing Cloud etc) in an accurate and timely manner, to ensure our supporters receive the best possible service and we have a full view of their activities when planning our own.
• Ensure our data insights platform provides volunteers with understandable and easy to use information for all aspects of administering their Area(s)/Group(s).
• Lead on developing and improving new processes and automations to save organisational time and resources through digital technology to drive quicker and more optimised outcomes.
• Maintain accurate supporter information in an accessible and secure way through IT systems such as the CRM and Data Warehouse in accordance with data and charity legislation.
• Develop and present modelling an analysis of supporters through more targeted and personalised communication utilising modern statistical analysis techniques.
• Create and maintain processes allowing for self-service of simple or regularly scheduled selections by staff members.
• Develop a robust and efficient audience segmenting and selection process for more complicated selections in a timely manner, considering appropriate targeting, efficient messaging, and other comms activity.
• Work closely with marketing, operations, and other teams to provide data-driven insights and recommendations that inform campaigns, initiatives, and overall strategy.
• Track and report on the effectiveness of initiatives and campaigns, providing actionable insights and recommendations for improvement based on data analysis.
• To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required of the post holder by the Ramblers.

The Person

Required Skills and Experience 

• Experience using a modern data reporting tool such as Power BI or Tableau
• Experience in using a marketing automation tool such as Mailchimp and or Marketing Cloud
• Expertise in programming languages such as Python

• Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical terms and process in an appropriate way for a variety of audiences
• High capability to deliver and drive organisational or behavioural change, particularly in relation to the use of data to drive better decision making
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Experience working with data in the not-for-profit sector
• Interest in walking and/or being an advocate for the outdoors and natural environment.

We are seeking a new Head of Business and Operations to play a crucial role in supporting the Head to review and drive continuous improvement.

We are a world leading delivery and practice centre, an Academic Research Centre at UCL (University College London) and the first WHO Global Collaborating Centre on Assistive Technology (AT). As an Academic Research Centre and a Community Interest Company, our diverse portfolio and unique set up enables rapid translation of research into practice. GDI Hub is also home to the UK aid funded AT2030 programme which tests ‘what works’ to improve access to life-changing Assistive Technology (AT) for all.

Role Purpose

The Head of Research and Delivery will lead the delivery of programmes, client-facing projects and research initiatives for GDI Hub CIC, working across the key themes of Disability Inclusion, Inclusive Design and Cities, Climate Change, Gender, Financial Inclusion and Assistive Technology. It is expected that the role holder will have considerable experience across at least two of these themes and an appetite for both broadening and deepening their knowledge across the others. They will also collaborate with research leads and teams based across GDI Hub including the Academic Research Centre (ARC) at UCL.

This is a senior, strategic, role responsible for team management and leading key projects, leading client, donor and government relationships, and providing strategic subject matter expertise. It would suit someone with a proven-track record in the sector and requires a strong aptitude for strategic thinking, delivery management and the creation of tenable and evidence-based recommendations. They will be creative and collaborative with a drive to make the world a fairer place, inspiring others to do the same.

They will be responsible for delivery on projects and research under their remit and contribute to the development of new projects and research, working closely with partners and clients. Current funders, partners and clients include the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, Asian Development Bank, Climate Investment Funds, UNICEF, Carbon Trust and Expo City Dubai. This will involve leading a permanent team of six, which is expected to grow to eight by Q4 2024-25, and any external consultants brought online as required to deliver across a portfolio of work.

Role Responsibilities

Project and Research Delivery and Management

• Lead a growing portfolio of projects under the Research and Delivery team including a current portfolio of circa 10 active projects.
• Leadership of Global Thematic Goods sub-programme under the AT2030 programme, with direct project leadership of 2 workstreams (inclusive infrastructure and inclusive climate resilience).
• Lead the intellectual and strategic management of project delivery, ensuring that projects deliver clear messages aligned to programme targets, client needs and project scope and deliver impact.
• Take overall responsibility for the quality and timeliness of project delivery and deliverables, ensuring project management processes and procedures are being implemented correctly and outputs are to the highest standard in line with GDI Hub style.
• Provide overall research leadership in GDI HUB CIC, instilling academic rigour and driving innovative and inclusive research, managing researchers to deliver high quality outputs that are evidence-based, meeting internal/external expectations and tailored to target audiences.
• Plan and manage workplans, including emergent risks, challenges, change requests, budgets, travel, schedules, and scope.

Client Management and Reporting

• Manage and develop relationships with partners and stakeholders, to support effective collaboration.
• Provide leadership in client facing discussions, understanding needs and priorities, and linking these to project and team delivery plans.
• Engage with emerging opportunities as appropriate, leading proposal development with the wider team.
• Service project reporting requirements and instruct timely invoicing against project agreements.

Support Communications and External Engagement

• Strategic leadership of external engagement across their portfolio, attending and speaking at events, conferences and project workshops as needed, to drive impact of our work.
• Provide input to communications content and the events pipeline to further raise the profile, reach and impact of GDI Hub’s work.
• Write insight reports, blogs or other content to support communications and external engagement as required.
• Highlight communication, networking and new work opportunities arising from project and client engagements.

Internal Team Management

• Manage and support the research and delivery team ensuring team members are informed, connected and working as a team, ensuring shared understanding of projects and individual delivery responsibilities.
• Work closely with the COO and Programme Management team to ensure sustainable delivery and resource management processes are followed.
• Ensure team resources are used in accordance with project budgets and actively tracked throughout delivery. Review resource capacity and factor into any new project bids or repeat business opportunities.
• Direct line management of Senior Inclusive Design Manager, Senior Financial Inclusion Researcher, Senior Social Researcher and Inclusive Climate Researcher. Support the team in their own line management responsibilities in line with planned activity.

The finance team at St Catharine’s College is looking to recruit the role of Senior Management Accountant to lead the delivery of a high-quality management accounting service and be a line manager to members of the Finance team.

We are seeking a Senior Corporate Engagement Manager, responsible for developing and overseeing the School’s relations with business and external third parties (public sector and not-for-profits). This is a key member of the team, responsible for building and nurturing relationships with external partners in the UK and internationally to deliver on LSE’s 2030 Strategy. We are seeking someone with experience of developing projects and funding proposals with corporate partners and/or an understanding of the nature of business partnerships.

Candidates should have solid experience of working in business relations, ideally within a not-for-profit or public sector environment, and with a strong track record of delivering fundraising/income generation or other mutually beneficial partnerships. You should be able to navigate complex relationships and have the drive and tenacity to negotiate and see through partnerships through to completion. We are seeking a self-reliant, motivated and collegiate individual who is a good team player, able to build positive relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally. You should be creative and resourceful, able to spot opportunities and be innovative in your approach, as well as have strong communication skills to persuade and bring others along with you.

Our external communications reflect help (support we provide for people with dementia) and hope (investment in research and innovation that will mean a better future for people with dementia) and our social media channels have a huge role to play in that.
 
We are looking for a talented and tenacious new Head of Social Media to join our External Relations and Media team. Our new Head of Social Media will lead Alzheimer’s Society’s social media functions, developing a compelling and inclusive organic social media strategy which integrates with organisational aims and positions Alzheimer’s Society as the leading dementia charity in the UK. 
 
This role will drive a high-performing team to deliver proactive social media content that resonates with a range of audiences across multiple platforms, from people with dementia/carers, through to decision makers, supporters and the wider public. And we want to ensure that we’re quick to react to breaking news and we’re watching out for channel-specific trends – creating engaging content that grows our audience and brand awareness.
 
The role will work closely with senior colleagues right across the Society with the need to influence and collaborate at the highest levels. You will manage a small team who are all talented and passionate in their roles, working to achieve the team's collective goal. We need our new Head to support and lead them on this journey.

- Experience in prompting and advocating Equality, Diversity and Inclusion both internally and through social media.
- Experience of senior stakeholder management as you will be an instrumental member of our senior leadership team.

Responsibilites

• Develop plans for housing, office and maintenance priorities, operational procedures, security, expenditures, etc.
• Coordinate centre services personnel and make staffing recommendations. 
• Supervise purchases of materials and supplies. 
• Supervise/carry out maintenance of buildings, vehicles and equipment. 
• Coordinate construction projects involving third party contractors. 
• Circulate information regarding operation of facilities, vehicles and equipment and maintain records of usage. 
• Handle correspondence related to centre services and operations. 
• Assist in planning and execution of logistical arrangements for workshops, seminars and conferences.
