About the role

We’re looking to recruit a Head of Policy to lead our Climate team and help achieve a new ambitious 3-year strategy to bring nature back from the brink by delivering a sustainable future in the UK and stopping deforestation overseas. The success of this strategy will depend on our ability to influence Governments, businesses, the finance sector and policy influencers to adopt and implement creative policy solutions.

As Head of Policy – Climate you oversee a small team committed to creating policy that enables government and business to take-action on the climate and nature crisis driven by our energy and economic system. You will lead on policy development and assessment, including analysing existing and proposed policies for effectiveness and quality while being alert to new policy ideas from other contexts or locations. You will oversee the integration of policy and advocacy priorities through businesses partnerships and our coordination with the sector. You will also engage with our devolved offices to learn from their work and ensure objectives and activities are developed and coordinated to maximise effectiveness. This will include forming links and strategic relationships with other organisations and our global network. Important will be the ability to build a high performing, creative and confident team, who are propositional and experimental in their approach to policy making and solutions.

We’re looking for someone with:

· Extensive policy development experience in one or (ideally) more of the following areas: Climate and one or more of and one of Food Agriculture or Deforestation/ Supply Chains or Biodiversity/ Nature Restoration or Economics/Finance

· Strong understanding and experience of how policy is influenced, both inside and outside Government.

· Experience of developing and influencing key stakeholders, changing opinions, practices and creating new models to deliver policy change.

· An understanding of policy evaluation.

· Experience of large-scale grant and programme management.

· Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal.

· Ability to motivate & build high performing teams

Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) is the national charity caring for historic churches at risk. As the operator of the third largest heritage estate in charitable ownership in the UK, our 356 historic churches include examples of irreplaceable architecture, archaeology and art from 1,000 years of English history.

Overall job purpose

CCT’s 2025 -30 strategy focuses on delivering conservation projects across our estate and securing income from grant funders will be crucial.  We will also work with local communities to address smaller conservation projects via the Community Initiative Framework.

The Grants Officer will research and identify relevant funding opportunities, build a healthy pipeline, and submit applications for project funding to meet fundraising targets during an exciting period of growth.

There will be requirement for occasional travel for project visits and team meetings.

We are looking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Information & Advice team provide information, advice and support to people aged 60 and over, living in Waltham Forest. FareShare UK's pioneering Surplus with Purpose scheme works with businesses across the food industry to help cover the extra costs of redistributing their unsold food to people who need it and preparing unfinished surplus food for redistribution.  Surplus with Purpose helps FareShare redistribute thousands of tonnes of surplus fresh fruit and vegetables to charities and community organisations that need it.

Run by charity EMERGE 3Rs, FareShare Greater Manchester (FSGM) is a major food re-distribution charity in the city-region, fighting food poverty and hunger and tackling food waste.We are excited to add a new Driver/Warehouse Operative to our team to help us run our Surplus with Purpose scheme, as well as to support our normal daily operations. 

A typical day will include carrying out the daily van safety check, collecting your order lists from the Food Allocations team and then picking the fruit & veg for each order, which will be between 400kgs and 800kgs.   After safely building the pallets, you'll load them onto the van and then unload at the Community Food Members' (CFMs) site.  You'll collect their empty trays and return them to our Warehouse, perhaps stopping to refuel on the way, where you'll take on Warehouse duties as required e.g. picking orders, cleaning, goods-in, stock rotation etc.

You are the face of FSGM to our CFMs so you'll need top notch customer service skills, excellent communication skills and a commitment to working in a culturally sensitive way.  It's a physical job so you can comfortably lift up to 25kg at a time repeatedly and throughout the day.  For insurance purposes, you need to be at least 25 years' old, with experience of safely driving commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. If you have a licence for driving larger vehicles (up to 7.5 tonnes), even better.  The salary offered will reflect the driver qualification you have.

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced PR & Communications Lead to take ownership of our media strategy and help elevate the Hospice’s profile. You will manage all communications functions including media relations, branding, internal/external messaging, digital content, and event promotion.

Key Duties Include:

• Developing and delivering a PR & communications plan aligned with the Hospice strategy
• Acting as the main point of contact for all media and press enquiries
• Managing the Hospice website, newsletters, and social media presence
• Supporting income generation through high-quality marketing materials
• Writing press releases, managing media visits, and arranging press conferences
• Maintaining consistent branding across all content and publications
• Building strong relationships with internal teams, supporters, and stakeholders
• Monitoring media coverage and evaluating campaign effectiveness

You will have a recognised Public Relations or Journalism qualification (CIPR or NCTJ) and at least one years experience in a media/communications environment. Strong writing, editing, and digital media skills are a must.

Are you able to walk alongside our partners, across Africa and Asia, offering prayer, compassion and technical support, as they strive to transform the lives of some of the world’s most marginalised people? Is God calling you to follow in the footsteps of Jesus and serve those affected by leprosy?

Today, one person every two minutes is diagnosed with leprosy. It’s a disease of poverty, striking the most vulnerable. Left untreated, it causes permanent disability. Stigma means that people affected by this disease are often rejected by those closest to them and excluded from basic services. 

Within our dynamic programmes team, you’ll be working alongside supportive colleagues who are passionate about ending leprosy and transforming lives. We have a culture of learning and growing together and will provide training in best practice, ensuring excellence in all we do. You will have at least three years’ work experience in an international development programming role or similar setting (ideally in the global South), with a degree in a relevant discipline. You will have monitoring, evaluation and research skills, with the capacity to work on your own initiative and will be an excellent cross-cultural communicator. We are particularly interested to hear from people with expertise in disability services, public health, research, quality assurance, or social enterprise development. About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our Post Adoption and Aftercare team and make a real difference to people’s lives. Facing an unknown past can be daunting. You will lead a team of experienced social workers to ensure service users access a high-quality, sensitive and compassionate service.

You will be responsible for managing referrals, overseeing casework, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and standards. You will also act as the Ofsted Registered Manager for our Voluntary Adoption Support Agency.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with a strong background in adoption or post-adoption work, who is ready to lead a small, dedicated team. The successful candidate will:

· Be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.

· Have at least five years’ experience of working in the field of adoption and/or post adoption, with a minimum of two years’ experience in post adoption.

· Have experience of managing a team, including providing supervision to other social workers.

· Have excellent knowledge of the Adoption and Children Act 2002 and related regulations.

· Be highly organised, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

As the charity representing the UK’s 200+ hospices, we have secured ourselves a significant national platform in the past year or two, with regular, top-tier national media, and online campaigns which have forced the government to act. 

With assisted dying legislation progressing across the UK, now is a critically important moment for the public – and for politicians – to better understand what hospice care is all about, and the challenges we face.

As part of our mission to promote and protect hospice care for all, it is critical that our communications team keeps it high on the agenda. We’ve built huge momentum – whether with regular national TV news coverage, a rapidly growing online supporter base, or though our recently overhauled brand. But we need a savvy, politically switched-on Head of Communications and Campaigns to keep that going, and to make it pay off.

Hospices are amongst our most loved community charities, and our job as the national charity for hospice care is to rally the public – as well as major donors like companies and trusts – to support these brilliant organisations.

You’ll need a strong eye for a story, and an integrated understanding of the full spectrum of communications, campaigns and marketing. You’ll likely be a specialist in one area – which is fine – but we want someone who can join the dots, spot the opportunities, and inspire a team of specialists.

Hospices are under huge pressure. Funding is tight, and demand is surging. This is your chance, in the coming years, to play a leading role in fighting for hospices to get the support they need – from government, from the media, and from the public.
