Reporting to the Regional Service Manager, you will support the Service Manager with managing the Cardiff Support Through Court service. You will provide support to volunteers and oversee the daily running of the service when on duty to ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly. 

Due to funding requirements, the successful applicant must be fluent in Welsh.

About Support Through Court

Support Through Court is an independent charity providing practical and emotional support to people facing the court process without the benefit of legal representation. Most people are unfamiliar with - and may be frightened of - the courts, and may be facing serious issues that could affect their children and relationships, finances, or the security of their homes. Our staff and volunteers empower people facing court alone, helping them to go through the court process with dignity and confidence. Together, we can ensure that no one faces court alone.

They also need to have the confidence and enthusiasm to deliver exercise to groups of older people whilst motivating participants that may have a variety of physical and cognitive challenges. The Facilities Assistant role:

As our Facilities Assistant, you will be responsible for the presentation of the premises and the day-to-day compliance with health and safety related to this role. Responsibilities of our Facilities Assistant:

• With the Facilities Team, to be responsible for the security of the building and its contents
• With the Reception and Facilities Team, be the point of contact for all visitors, staff and tenants
• With the Reception team, help to coordinate all room users’ requirements for St Luke’s activities and events
• Assist with maintaining St Luke’s garden areas and Edible Yard

Essential Skills, Experience & Abilities we are looking for in our ideal Facilities Assistant:

• A background in or experience of overseeing or working in a Facilities Team or an operational environment
• Understanding of overseeing building maintenance contractors
• An understanding of overseeing minor repairs and maintenance, controlling heating, ventilation and other mechanical systems, with a willingness and ability to learn on the job 
• An understanding of building related health and safety, and willing to learn and do training in this area
• Experience of providing excellent customer service
• Good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate confidently and effectively
• A hands-on individual and flexible with regard to tasks including cleaning, light maintenance and room presentation
• IT literate
• Able to work independently and demonstrate initiatives in improving facilities’ systems
• Prioritisation and planning skills
• A flexible approach to working days and hours when necessary

About the Community Outreach Worker Role

Purpose of job:

In this role you will business partner with the Funding directorate to ensure high quality, accurate and timely budgeting and forecasting with respect to both restricted projects and unrestricted operational activity in the Funding team. You will work closely with the Funding Leadership Team and wider department and be their trusted financial advisor. You will be responsible for internal management information for senior management, alongside external reporting to funders. This role may entail some overseas travel to partners.

Budgeting, Forecasting and Reporting

We are seeking an experienced Senior Debt Adviser who has a proven track record in helping and assisting clients facing financial difficulties and providing creative solutions to help alleviate their challenges in a sensitive and supportive role. They will have an awareness of having successfully provided debt advice in a regulated environment. They will have experience of supporting and supervising a team, and monitoring their performance to ensure this remains in line with internal and external requirements.

The successful candidate would be expected to work a hybrid model of delivery - in an office environment, outreach sessions as well as home based. They would be expected to provide advice via omni-channels such as face to face, telephone and email advice. 

Main Responsibilities:

● Provide casework covering the full range of debt - Interviewing those that access our service using sensitive listening and questioning skills in order to allow them to explain their problem(s) and empower them to set their own priorities.

● Researching and exploring options and implications so that those accessing our service can make informed decisions

● Ensuring income maximisation through the appropriate take up of income, including those relating to water charges, benefits, tax and housing

● Providing in-depth quality advice and on-going casework, including acting for the client where necessary using appropriate communication skills and channels

Are you self-motivated, organised, empathetic, able to work independently and think on your feet, then you might want to consider joining a small team of like-minded people.

Our Carer Liaison Workers work within both local NHS Trusts (BRI and Southmead Hospitals), where they make a real difference, supporting adult carers – those who care for others who can’t manage without their help, when the person they care for goes into hospital.

You would provide information, advice and support, enabling carers to navigate their way through the intricacies of the hospital journey, whilst liaising with health and social care professionals to ensure the carers voice is heard and their needs are supported, including during discharge planning.

You would also work with hospital staff to improve their knowledge and experience of supporting carers, through development work and training.

You’ll be joining the team at a pivotal time for our charity. Having recently secured our core statutory income for the next 3 to 5 years we’re now looking to use that as a launchpad to grow and develop new and existing services.

We are looking for dynamic and creative individuals with proven experience in :-

• Information and advice work, including providing support and advocacy to individuals.

• working with individuals needing emotional and practical support.
• working in or with a health or social care environment.

• Experience of working in partnership with other organisations.

The purpose of this role is to support NEON’s work to build organising capacity in UK social movements, including through NEON’s Worker-led Transition project. You will:

• Build support for a worker-led transition in the climate movement and communities, with an emphasis on local and regional coalition and capacity-building in key industrial regions, as well as strengthening relationships with the trade union movement

• Co-deliver organising trainings and provide longer-term organising coaching for social movement organisations across a range of issues, to build their organising skills and capacity, and using tools and content developed through our Transformative Organising Programme

• Provide responsive support to movement organisations when they need it most, offering strategic and organising advice and resources

We're seeking an enthusiastic individual to provide a comprehensive administrative service to a busy front line advice centre.

1. To help provide an effective free advice and representation service for people largely living or working in East London or elsewhere within England and Wales.

2. To provide a comprehensive administrative service to a busy front line advice centre. This comprises responding to enquiries through both telephone, email and face-to-face, ensuring that each enquirer is assessed for suitability for our services, specifically with a view to Legal Aid funding, booking clients for legal advice appointments and signposting those we cannot assist directly.

3. You will be working closely with our Housing Team and provide some support to other legal area teams.
