The Independent Training, delivered in collaboration with IPCAPA at the British Psychotherapy Foundation (bpf) and the Anna Freud Centre/UCL is seeking progress advisors to support 4-5 trainees on the Doctorate in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy training from the start of their training through to completion.

This is an exciting opportunity to guide and support trainees in their development as future child psychotherapists. The successful postholders will liaise with the year 1 tutor, clinical and research tutors, service supervisors and intensive case supervisors. There will be regular team meetings with the year tutor other progress advisors responsible for the year group. Outside of this, working hours are flexible.

We are looking for ACP registered Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists with current CAMHS experience, who have an active interest in working with our year tutor and staff group to support trainees’ progress. The role may suit new career CAPts who wish to develop connections and experience within the field of CAPy training schools. There will be the opportunity to take advantage of in-house training to become an Intensive Case Supervisor and for additional paid hours of clinical teaching such as practice or clinical seminar groups as appropriate.

Responsibilities:

· Communication with the trainees as their allocated advisor

· Support trainees to fulfil their training requirements for qualification

· Assess trainees’ progress and communicate with the Year Tutor and other staff as appropriate

· Prepare reports for and attend annual and mid-term review meetings

· Arrange and conduct an annual placement review meeting for each trainee, including an annual placement visit

· Attendance at regular progress team meetings with the Year Tutor and other progress advisors

· Other reasonable necessary tasks relating to trainee progress as arising, including occasional attendance at other Independent training meetings

Qualifications and Experience

1. ACP registered child and adolescent psychotherapist

2. > 2 years’ experience working in NHS and/ or Voluntary Sector post qualification

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

1. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide support and guidance to help nurture trainee CAPTs

2. Knowledge of and commitment to the Independent Child Psychotherapy Training

3. Ability to build and sustain relationships with training partners – service supervisors, ICS, research tutors etc.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Regional Casework Coordinator to join the Northwest Region at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

You will be part of the regional office team who are the first point of contact to all beneficiaries into the Regional Office. You will be assisting with sometimes complex problems from individuals who may be distressed, identifying the presenting and potential underlining needs to determine the best way to support the beneficiary, either by beginning a casework referral, referring to another service within SSAFA or making an external referral to organisations better able to offer support. You will also have ownership of cases from beginning to end, coordinating the casework process in a timely manner and ensure that the beneficiary journey is at the centre of the Service. At all times you will adhere to the safeguarding, confidentiality, and data-protection policies, including escalation to emergency services for clients where there are immediate areas of concern.

To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA and will influence the processes and procedures within the office, working closely with the Regional Casework Manager and Regional Operations Manager.

The post is home-based, but you may have to travel occasionally around the Northwest Region of England.

About the team

In this new role you will be working closely with volunteers from the six SSAFA branches in the Northwest, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The successful candidate will work as part of a larger support team which will include a Casework Manager and a Regional Operational Manager.

About you

To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing welfare advice in key areas such as, housing benefits, debt, disability, mobility or immigration issues. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR, along with experience in dealing with sensitive information and people in vulnerable situations. You will be able to provide excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.

It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families, along with supporting volunteers. An understanding of the voluntary sector and preferably the military charity sector landscape across the North West.

Aquarius helps young people aged 5-18 overcome the harm caused by drugs and alcohol by working closely with the individual, family members and other professionals.  But it’s only possible with people like you.

Right now, our Bedfordshire Young People’s service is looking for a Complex Needs Practitioner to join the team. This role will be in partnership with Bedfordshire Youth Offending Service and will require some co-location from the Youth Offending Offices around Bedfordshire to be an integral part of both teams.

Your challenge? To provide information and advice, brief interventions and long term structured support to young people who are using drugs and alcohol or being impacted by someone else’s use.  You will be conducting assessments, risk assessments, care-planning and working directly with other services such as schools, social care, health provisions, alternative education providers and mental health services.The successful candidate must have exceptional organisational skills and the ability to work with other agencies both face to face, email and via telephone.

An energetic and confident self-starter, you will be required to hold a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we will consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. People with lived experience will be involved in a range of ways too, including involvement groups, taking part in events within local communities, co-designing services and campaigns, sharing stories and speaking out about the housing emergency. The overriding aim is to work closely alongside people with lived experience to influence and steer the direction of Shelter’s work, so that lived experience informs everything we do.

The Role

The purpose of the Roma Outreach Worker role is to deliver an effective service to single people who are currently rough sleeping. This post will actively support Roma clients, providing a continued and consistent point of contact whilst assisting them in navigating the various change pathways available to them.

Are you passionate about utilising your language skills to assist in ending rough sleeping? Our organisation takes a proactive stance in supporting individuals away from rough sleeping, aiming for permanent transitions from rough sleeping.

We are seeking a dynamic and self-driven individual with language proficiency in Romanian or Romany to join our Kingston Outreach Team as a Roma Outreach Worker. In this pivotal role, you will engage in street outreach shifts, assess needs, and deliver personalised case management. It is the beginning of assisting clients on their journey from homelessness to independence.

To be considered for the role of Roma Outreach Worker, you will have:

- Able to speak Romani or Romanian fluently or to a high level.
- Full and clean UK driving licence.
- Good understanding of the Roma communities.
- Experience of working within the homelessness or social care sector.
- Have a creative, solution-focused approach to overcoming challenges.
- Knowledge of GDPR and data management.
- Knowledge of current drug and alcohol provision and relevant services, pathways and conditions.
- Emotional resilience to deal with challenging behaviour and to facilitate ongoing constructive engagement.
- Solid IT skills with the ability to record sound and accurate records in a timely fashion on IT applications such as CHAIN and Inform.
- A commitment to learning and continuous improvement.
- Experience of support planning and risk assessing clients with complex needs, including safeguarding knowledge.
- Able to develop positive and professional working relationships with clients to facilitate the best possible outcomes and address issues of social isolation and exclusion.
- Experience in conducting client assessments and interviews and outcome monitoring.

This is a full-time permanent position, working Monday to Friday with additional monthly on-call duties. What we are looking for

• Experience in facilitating groups that focus on behavioural change, addiction and other recovery-related activities.
• Excellent communication skills and an understanding of Customer Relationship Management systems (such as Salesforce).

Dementia Wellbeing Worker 

Age UK Camden Dementia Wellbeing Service is looking to recruit a Dementia Wellbeing Worker to join their team working 35 hours per week on a permanent basis. 

The Dementia Wellbeing Service is part of our specialist dementia services and works closely with the Dementia Befriending Service.

The service supports Camden residents over the age of 55 in the early or moderate stages of dementia, to live independently and safely at home for as long as possible, stay socially engaged and carry on doing what they love.  

The successful candidate will: 

• Offer a holistic and person-centered assessment for people living with mild cognitive impairment or Dementia to ensure meaningful interventions.

• Manage a case load of clients, providing practical and emotional support to the most isolated and vulnerable in our community.

• Provide information, advice and support to carers (family/friends), health/social care professionals and other voluntary organisations and to disseminate knowledge and best practice so that individuals living with cognitive impairment in relation to dementia or undiagnosed dementia have the best care possible.  
   

• Maintain accurate and appropriate records via Charity Log database and in accordance with UKGDPR. 

Salary: £33,525.36 to £34,743.24 pa incl. London Weighting.

CVAA UK is a membership organisation supporting not-for-profit organisations across the UK who specialise in adoption services. Over 3000 children in the UK need adoption each year because they cannot remain at home or with family members. The CVAA Practice Programme delivers 30 or more online courses each year to those working in the sector, primarily social workers. The programme has developed a strong reputation for attracting a range of subject experts to deliver cost effective, engaging and useful training. Due to a restructure of the team, we are now looking for a Training Manager who can oversee the delivery of the programme from mid to late July 2024. Initially fixed term, it is anticipated that this post will become permanent.

The Training Manager will work with the Head of Practice Development and the Programme Administrator to ensure that the courses are full, delivered effectively and evaluated. Part of the role will also be to source new trainers and support the creation of the programme into 2025.

The CVAA team work remotely across the UK so location of the postholder is not a barrier to recruitment as long as long as they can travel occasionally and come into London for team days. The team is small, diverse and dynamic. Experience of project management or delivery of training or events is more important than knowledge of adoption or children's social care. We would warmly welcome an application from people who have lived experience of adoption or fostering, and candidates from the Global Majority. 

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK and will need to undertake a DBS due to the sensitive nature of the work of CVAA. We require three references, one of whom can be personal.
