Main purposes of the post

To provide strategic leadership for Salford CVS’s health and social care work, ensuring the VCSE sector is influential, represented and embedded within key strategic partnerships, boards and system-wide initiatives across Salford.

The postholder will work closely with the Senior Strategic Lead for Wellbeing, Health and Social Care to shape strategic agendas, strengthen cross-sector relationships and ensure VCSE voices help influence the city’s long-term plans relating to Health and Social Care.

Location: Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC). Unfortunately, this service does not have step free access.

Salary: £34,000

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, 4 days on, 3 days of 22:00 to 10:00. This is a night shift role on a rolling rota, which includes weekends and bank holidays, meaning weekly hours may vary slightly. You may be required to work outside these hours as per service requirements, including some day working as required.

About the Role

We are looking for a Night Supervisor who is driven to provide high quality, effective and person centred support to staff, colleagues, residents. This role will support Service Managers to ensure high standards of service quality, performance, and improvement are delivered on the night rota by encouraging productivity and engagement of night staff. Our service runs to deliver high quality, trauma informed services to residents and staff. You will lead in ensuring the service runs smoothly, safely, and that night support staff are well supported. You will line manage frontline care and support staff, including night concierge services, within a service that specialises in supporting people who have experienced homelessness, substance use, mental health, and/or offending backgrounds. We work collaboratively with commissioners, partners, and communities to provide psychologically informed environments (PIE) that support recovery, reablement and sustainable independence. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Support the delivery of high quality, trauma informed night services, ensuring services run smoothly, safely, and in line with organisational standards
• Experience in supporting  people who suffer from substance use, mental health, and/or offending backgrounds.
• Line manage and support frontline night staff, including night concierge services, fostering a supportive leadership culture focused on staff wellbeing, learning, and development.
• Work closely with Service Managers to maintain high standards of service quality, performance, and continuous improvement
• Encourage productivity, engagement, and wellbeing of night staff through regular check-ins, service visits, spot checks, and ongoing team meetings and training to support staff development.
• Provide high quality, person centred support to staff, residents including working effectively with people with multiple and complex needs and diverse communities.
• Demonstrate high level teamwork and communication skills, ensuring effective and timely handovers between day and night teams to support seamless service delivery.
• Lead, motivate, and manage teams effectively, with or without prior formal people management experience.

They care for more than 141,000 children in England and Wales, double the number in foster care, but feel isolated and need help. Kinship’s peer support and community work, supported by Department for Education funding, helps kinship carers feel connected, less isolated and better supported by building local, carer-led peer support groups and strengthening wider community networks.

The team works in communities to bring kinship carers together, support and train volunteer group leaders, and grow groups to a point where they are sustainable and independent (ideally within 6 months). This role provides the operational grip to plan, deliver and continuously improve this work, while evidencing impact through robust data monitoring, reporting and clear storytelling.

Key responsibilities include:

• Accountable for the set-up, growth and transition of peer support groups to independence supported by the Hub, using clear milestones and support plans. 

• Responsible for ensuring volunteer group leaders have high-quality training, guidance and ongoing coaching to deliver safe, supportive peer spaces. 

• Responsible for embedding strengths-based, trauma-informed approaches and clear boundaries across all peer support activity. 
• Responsible for managing external delivery partners or commissioned provision to support growth in specific communities, ensuring quality and delivery to agreed standards. 
• Accountable for the identification and nurture of new group leaders and volunteers, ensuring groups are welcoming, accessible and inclusive.

On our structured Traineeship scheme, you’ll gain first-hand experience and on-the-job training in what we do. You’ll be expected to work full time on a rota basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join our Central Bedfordshire Mental Health Recovery and Prevention Service which covers Ampthill/Flitwick, Biggleswade, Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard.

Key Duties and Service Delivery

As a Community Wellbeing Navigator you will be at the heart of the Recovery Service, delivering all aspects of the service, building positive relationships with those using the service and strong links into the wider community services within Central Bedfordshire.

You will offer focussed 1-2-1 support where needed, to assist people to navigate through the range of other services within the community. You will offer guidance and information that reduces the chance that people will fall through gaps or continue to be isolated and disconnected from their communities, ensuring the right support and the right time that manages a range of needs.

You will also deliver group wellbeing sessions and facilitate drop-in sessions that provide a safe environment for service users to talk openly and develop practical tools, techniques and coping strategies in order to manage their own wellbeing.

In addition, you will assess individuals’ suitability for the service and signpost where necessary. There will also be opportunity to support events in the community to raise awareness of our services and build links with local organisations.

You will need to be empathetic and deliver a person-centred approach in a non-judgemental way, collaborating with people to empower and engage them.

We are looking for people with great energy and motivation to join our Short Breaks service which offers a chance for young people with an additional need/ disability to have fun and a break from daily routines, and helps families to enjoy quality time, local activities, and connections with others.

2 x CYP Coordinator- Short Breaks- 30 hours- Ashford and Swale, Canterbury and Thanet

Our holiday and weekend activities give parents and carers a break while providing participants a safe, welcoming space to have fun and receive the care they need. Our coordinators plan, arrange and deliver a programme of activities shaped around the needs of the young people, making the most of local opportunities, from heritage sites and outdoor adventures, to sports, arts and crafts, cooking, and team challenges. These sessions help children build friendships, grow in confidence, and express themselves in a fun, supportive space.

1 x CYP Coordinator- Short Breaks Family Days- 30 hours- Kent wide

Family days bring families together to create special memories and enjoy time with others who share similar experiences. The coordinator develops and facilitates activity days which involve the whole family and provide opportunities to build friendships and connections with others. Activities take place at outdoor centres, local heritage sites and museums, as well as organised beach days and community centre-based workshops and activities.

Applicants should have relevant experience of working or volunteering with children and young people in education, health or social care, and have exceptional organisation and communication skills. 

The roles are 30 hours per week, working Wednesday to Saturday. In school holiday periods, more activities take place on weekdays (instead of Saturdays), so flexibility is needed.

It’s essential that applicants have their own car and are willing to drive a minibus (full training provided).

About the role:

Do you enjoy being the welcoming face of a service, keeping things running smoothly and creating a safe, organised environment for young people? We’re looking for Day Concierges to join our Young People’s Accommodation Pathway in Lewisham and Greenwich, supporting young people aged 16 to 25 to settle, grow in independence and move towards their next home.

This is a key front of house role where no two days are the same. You’ll be the first point of contact for clients, visitors and partners, helping to create a calm, professional and supportive atmosphere across the service. Working closely with duty staff, you’ll play a central role in the day to day running of the building, from managing access and handling enquiries to keeping things safe, organised and welcoming for everyone who walks through the door.

In our Greenwich services, you’ll work across multiple sites within the pathway, moving between services as needed and building strong relationships with different teams and clients. You’ll also take the lead on health and safety, voids and maintenance processes, helping to ensure our spaces are safe, well maintained and ready for young people to move into.

You don’t need previous experience in the sector to apply. This role is a great way to start or grow your career, with plenty of support, training and learning from experienced colleagues around you. What matters most is your approach, your reliability and your ability to connect with people.

The Greenwich role follows a rolling rota of 9am to 19:30pm, across 3 to 4 days per week, including weekends every other week.

The Lewisham role follows a rota of 8am to 15:30pm, Monday-Friday.

Single Homeless Project (SHP) and Islington Council are proud to introduce St. John’s Mansions - a brand-new, purpose-built accommodation service that will provide safe, high-quality housing for individuals experiencing homelessness and facing multiple exclusion. This innovative project is backed by the GLA’s Single Homelessness Accommodation Programme (SHAP), and represents a bold step forward in tackling homelessness across North London. SHP are building a dynamic, compassionate, and forward-thinking team to bring this vision to life. 

St. John’s Mansions will offer 19 beautifully finished self-contained studio flats, designed to support residents in their journey from rough sleeping and emergency accommodation to independent living. With a stay of up to 24 months, residents will receive tailored, high-intensity support to help them build the skills and confidence needed to thrive independently. 

The service will operate 24/7, with a welcoming reception and dedicated staff & clients spaces to enable both structured interventions and spontaneous, meaningful engagement. SHP will be working not only within Islington but in partnership with five North London boroughs - Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, and Westminster. You’ll hold a caseload of clients and take the lead on delivering person centred, strengths based support that is grounded in PIE and trauma informed approaches. This includes completing holistic assessments, co-producing support plans and risk management plans, and working consistently towards move on goals. Alongside this, you’ll play a key role in the day to day running of the service, working closely with colleagues and partner agencies to maintain a safe, well managed environment, respond to emerging needs, and ensure each client receives coordinated, high quality support that supports their journey into independent living.

This is more than just housing – it is a bridge to a better future. In this role, you’ll work closely with adults living in our accommodation, building trusting relationships and supporting them to take positive steps towards independence. Each day brings the chance to empower clients to manage their homes, connect with specialist services, and rebuild confidence, purpose and community in their lives.

About the role 

The Policy and Research Trainee post is a broad-ranging development role that will support the post-holder to gain knowledge and experience of various aspects of policy and research within a specialist health and care policy team.

You will contribute to projects across a wide range of issues relating to health and social care policy and practice (see our website for some examples of our recent projects). You will gain experience in creating a range of outputs for different audiences, publishing and presenting research findings in an accessible way. Training will be available both internally and externally to develop not only relevant research skills but also wider aspects such as writing and giving presentations.

You will have a demonstrable interest in learning about English health and care policy and research. You will already have experience with health or care, whether as a carer, patient or staff member, and an interest in improving health and wellbeing, for example by reducing health inequalities and improving social determinants of health.

You will not have previously worked in research or policy, but you’ll be enthusiastic about gaining the new skills and experience needed to start a career in policy or research. We are particularly interested to hear from people who see this opportunity as unique and critical to their career development.
