This is an exciting role to take a small charity to the next level. As the sole salaried employee of Summer Hype, you will have real autonomy to shape how the charity operates, grows and deepens its impact. This is not a role for someone who wants to follow a rigid script — it is for a self-starter who sees the potential in a brilliant organisation and wants to be the person who helps it flourish.

Crucially, you will not be starting from scratch. Summer Hype has more than ten years of successful delivery behind it, a committed community of participants and leaders, and meaningful roots in Hackney. What we need now is someone to take everything we have built and unlock the next chapter.

Where we are heading

Our ambition is clear: we want to be reaching 100 or more young people in Hackney every year. To get there, we know we need to do more — more in-year engagement with our existing participants and leaders, more activities across the school holidays, and a deeper, more visible presence in the borough. We believe there is enormous untapped potential within Summer Hype, and this role exists to realise it.

Some of the directions we are excited to explore include:

• Increasing in-year engagement with current and alumni participants and leaders — social events, skills sessions, community activities

• Deepening relationships with schools and community organisations that already know and trust us

• Growing our profile across Hackney so that Summer Hype becomes a recognised and respected name in the borough

• Longer term, we want to explore expanding our residential offering to other school holiday periods, building on the success of our summer programme

The person who takes on this role will have the chance to shape what this growth looks like. You will report to a Board of Trustees who are committed to Summer Hype's future and will support your work. Beyond that, Summer Hype has a wider community of talented alumni, youth leaders and volunteers — people who genuinely care about what we do. One of the exciting challenges of this role is finding ways to bring that community into more regular, meaningful engagement throughout the year; they are an asset waiting to be activated.

While you will have a supportive Trustee team guiding you, you will need to be comfortable owning your work, making decisions and driving things forward. In return, you will have genuine freedom to shape what the role looks like and real scope to leave your mark on a charity that is ready to grow.

Key Responsibilities

Camp Delivery & Participant Recruitment

• Identify and build relationships with referrers (schools, youth clubs and community organisations) to recruit new participants, including attending face-to-face meetings and maintaining a proactive presence in the community

• Manage all communication with participants' families — from initial sign-up through to post-camp follow-up — ensuring every family feels genuinely connected to Summer Hype

• Coordinate all camp logistics including securing the venue, arranging transport, ordering materials, working with the leadership team to plan the weekly programme and manage resources

• Serve as the logistical support during the residential week, supporting the volunteer Heads of Camp and liaising with site staff, coaches and families

• Collect feedback and data from participants, families and referees, working with the Fundraising and Impact Trustee

Leader Coordination

• Manage the leadership application process and coordinate a team of youth leaders for the summer programme

• Plan and deliver pre-camp training weekends and writing weekends, including sourcing venues and external speakers where appropriate

• Organise ongoing team-building activities and social events to strengthen the Summer Hype leader community

• Ensure all DBS checks are completed and records are kept up to date

Community Building and Year-Round Programming

• Develop and deliver activities throughout the year for current and alumni participants, leaders and families — helping to build a thriving Summer Hype community beyond the summer

• Embed Summer Hype within the wider Hackney community by forging links with local organisations, businesses and community groups

• Seek opportunities for sponsorship, in-kind support and local partnerships to strengthen our presence in the borough

Governance & Administration

• Maintain accurate records and data management systems in line with our data protection and safeguarding policies

• Ensure relevant charity documentation is organised, current and compliant

• Support the Board of Trustees with reporting and governance requirements

We expect flexibility will be needed across the core responsibilities (set out above). Additionally, after an initial period, the role has potential to flex to include some or all of the below responsibilities, following agreement between the successful job holder and Trustees.

Fundraising & Financial Sustainability

• Research, write and submit grant applications; manage relationships with funders and attend grant meetings

• Identify and develop new income streams including local business partnerships and in-kind support

• Lead on fundraising campaigns, including coordinating matched-funding drives and supporter communications, working closely with the existing fundraising Trustee and volunteers.

• driving the campaign, liaising with the leaders for coordinated posts

• Be responsible for compiling the end of year report for Charity Commision/website

Communications & Digital Presence

• Keep the Summer Hype website and social media presence up to date and look for opportunities to make it a more engaging and informative resource. Trustees are open to creative ideas to strengthen Summer Hype’s social media presence.

• Send regular email updates to supporters and donors, nurturing those relationships over time

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is energised by the mission of Summer Hype and excited by the challenge of building something. You don't need to have done every part of this role before — but you do need to be the kind of person who figures things out, takes initiative and cares deeply about young people.

Essential

• Experience in an operational, co-ordination or project management role (charity sector experience is welcome but not required)

• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence in building relationships with a range of stakeholders

• A genuine commitment to the mission of Summer Hype and to the young people of Hackney

• Self-motivated, proactive and comfortable working independently

• Experience using standard digital tools (email, spreadsheets, social media)

Desirable

• Experience of grant writing or fundraising

Service Development Manager

We are looking for an experienced and resourceful Service Development Manager to work closely with the CEO to establish and deliver a strong presence across Forest of Dean, Cheltenham and Tewkesbury.

Position: Service Development Manager

Location: Remote/Gloucestershire, with regular travel across Forest of Dean, Cheltenham and Tewkesbury and occasional attendance at the Stroud office

Hours: Part-time, 30 hours per week

Salary: £38,000 pro rata (£30,811 actual salary for 30 hours per week)

Contract: 24-month fixed-term contract

The Role

This is a hands-on role combining direct family support, project management, service development and partnership building. You will hold an appropriate caseload, develop new activity, build strong local referral pathways and help turn the countywide plans into practical support for families.

We need someone who is confident working independently, takes ownership, builds relationships quickly and can find practical solutions when there is no obvious route forward. The initial focus will be Forest of Dean, Cheltenham and Tewkesbury, but the role is designed to evolve as our countywide work develops.

About You

We are looking for someone who is practical, resourceful and motivated by making things happen.

You will be comfortable supporting a family one day and developing a new partnership or service the next and have enough frontline experience to understand what works for families and enough project-management discipline to turn ideas into effective delivery. You will not be joining a finished project with every detail already decided. We need someone who can understand the objective, identify what needs to happen next and move the work forward.

You will have experience of:

• Direct service delivery, ideally with families, children or communities
• Holding a caseload or providing ongoing one-to-one support

As an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA), you will provide specialist, trauma-informed and survivor-centred advocacy to survivors across Lincolnshire. You will support individuals whether or not they choose to report to the police, helping them understand their rights and options, access appropriate services and make informed decisions about their support.

For clients who choose to report, you will help them navigate every stage of the criminal justice process, from making an initial report and progressing through a police investigation to decisions made by the Crown Prosecution Service and any subsequent court proceedings. You will explain complex processes in a clear and accessible way, provide regular updates, liaise with criminal justice agencies, support clients to prepare for court and attend court with them where required.

You will provide consistent, independent advocacy throughout each client’s journey, ensuring their voice, choices and wellbeing remain central. You will work closely with the police, courts, Crown Prosecution Service, health services, safeguarding teams and voluntary-sector partners, while remaining independent from the criminal justice system.

The role includes managing a varied caseload, developing individual support and safety plans, identifying and responding to risk, maintaining accurate and confidential records, and advocating confidently on behalf of clients. You will be supported by an experienced management team, regular supervision, specialist training and a wider multidisciplinary team passionate about delivering exceptional services.

The Role

The Peer Support service provide tailored, personalised support for someone’s individual needs. Peer Support is based on the recognition that there is no better person to support the path towards recovery, than someone who has walked a similar path as that person.

• You will help co-facilitate our online Peer Support Group

The Social Support service delivers flexible and person-centred support across our Wellbeing Centres in St Albans, Hatfield, and Stevenage. About the Role

The role involves managing a one-to-one client caseload while contributing to the delivery of Social Support Groups. Through personalised support, the post holder will offer emotional support and empower individuals to focus on what matters most to them, working towards meaningful and achievable changes in in their lives.

As a Peer Support Worker you will:

They will also have experience of working in both group settings and 1:1 and creating and reviewing dynamic risk assessments and support plans.

About the Service User Network (SUN)

The SUN is an open access model of community-based facilitated group peer support for people experiencing complex emotional needs associated with complex trauma and/or a diagnosis of ‘personality disorder’. The SUN aims to help people develop effective ways of coping, reduce emergencies and improve access to appropriate services.

Those accessing the SUN may or may not have a formal diagnosis of personality disorder. Group members will have experienced longstanding emotional difficulties, isolation and may demonstrate patterns of behaviour that may not be helpful in the longer term.

About the Role

Fundamental to creating empowerment and engagement in the SUN Project is the therapeutic community principle, that the effectiveness of the service depends upon engaging group members in the task of running, delivery, development and evaluation of the service. The utilisation of SUN members’ own resources and expertise is integral to the SUN model of peer support.

SUN Facilitators will have their own lived experience of complex emotional needs associated with a diagnosis of ‘personality disorder’ and will be able to demonstrate their recovery journey. They will work closely with mental health practitioners from ELFT (East London NHS Foundation Trust) to deliver regular Service User Network (SUN) groups in different community-based locations in Bedford, Central Bedfordshire or Luton. Full training in the SUN model, and weekly supervision by a Psychotherapist / Psychologist, will be provided for all team members.

Facilitators will work to develop and support the therapeutic community principle of the SUN model and the effectiveness of the service through engaging group members in the task of running, delivery, development, and evaluation of the service. The utilisation of SUN members’ own resources and expertise is integral to the model of peer support upon which the SUN groups are based.

SUN facilitators will have regular supervision and support in this role along with appropriate training.

About You

You have personal lived experience of personality disorder or complex emotional needs and can confidently draw upon your recovery journey to inspire hope, promote wellbeing, and support others in their own recovery. You are empathetic, non-judgemental, and resilient, with experience of supporting people in a health, social care, or mental health setting, and ideally have facilitated or co-facilitated groups.

A strong communicator, you are able to build positive peer relationships, maintain professional boundaries, manage challenging situations calmly, and work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. You are committed to empowering others, embracing lived experience as a valuable asset, and are comfortable using IT systems and travelling across Bedfordshire and Luton to deliver services

The service aims to identify and support vulnerable people of all ages at the earliest opportunity when they come into contact with the criminal justice system.
