Digital Engagement Officer
We are seeking an enthusiastic Digital Engagement Officer to join a UK charity providing emotional and practical support to people affected by brain tumours. This 12 month placement is ideal for someone early in their career or under employed and looking to build experience in the charity sector.
Position: Digital Engagement Officer
Salary: £24,479 (Living wage)

About the Role
This role has been specifically designed as a development opportunity for someone who may be, returning to work, changing career, or looking to move into the charity sector for the first time.
You do not need previous charity sector experience to apply.
The post is a hybrid communications and support role, focused on increasing digital reach and engagement over a 12 month period. You will work on a defined project with clear outcomes, while receiving mentoring, training and hands on experience.
Working closely with communications and support colleagues, you will help ensure that accurate, accessible information reaches people where they are already searching online. The role offers structured support and the opportunity to build confidence, skills and experience in digital engagement, storytelling and community building.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating, scheduling and publishing engaging content across social media platforms
- Sharing clear and accessible information that encourages discussion and community support
- Supporting digital awareness campaigns and online events
- Responding to comments and messages in a thoughtful and supportive way

- Tracking engagement and learning what content has the greatest impact
You will also take part in mentoring, training and professional development activities throughout the placement.

About the Organisation
The charity provide critical emotional and practical support to around 4,500 brain tumour patients each year, a relatively small proportion of the 80,000 people living with a brain tumour. Furthermore 12,775 more people are diagnosed annually. Their ambition is to double the number of people they are helping with coaching, events and information in the next 5 years.

This is a flexible, casual role where shifts are offered on an as-needed basis, giving you the choice to accept shifts that fit around your availability. The Role
As Community & Events Fundraising Manager, you will play a vital role in generating the income needed to sustain and grow our services. Key Duties for Form F Assessors include:
- To undertake and complete Form F assessments in the timescale set out in our policy and guidance.
- To visit personal referees as identified on application form for prospective foster carers.
- To ensure that all checks and references are undertaken and completed.
- To provide to the supervisor, regular written updates of the draft assessment.
- To liaise with our administrative team concerning the progress of administrative checks and completion of the Form F.
- To be available for supervision, consultation or liaison as required.

- To be aware of our child protection procedures and immediately report any child protection matter or concerns to a TACT manager and any relevant placing authority and the area authority.
- To carry out the duties in line with our Foster Carer and Supervising Social Worker Standards and Practice Guidance.
Rates of Pay for Form F Assessors
- We will pay £2250 (inclusive of VAT) + up to £500 bonus payments (if criteria are met) upon submission of a successfully completed Form F Assessment.
- £37.50 per hour for assessments which are not completed, and any other piece of work.

Individual Giving Lead (Donor Development)
You will be an experienced, ambitious, proactive fundraiser who works fast and efficiently to develop relationships with individual supporters through a variety of channels including direct mail, email and digital channels. Individual Giving Lead (Donor Development)
As our Donor Development Lead, through testing, learning and optimising, you will work with colleagues across Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) to deliver a programme of offline and online products and campaigns (including appeals, newsletters and bespoke touchpoints) to existing supporters to generate income through one-off, regular giving and legacy income.

Working primarily from Crawley Youth Advice Centre, you will deliver face-to-face sessions using evidence-based interventions to engage, educate and empower young people around issues affecting their emotional wellbeing.
Key responsibilities:
- Offer seven sessions of support to each young person, including initial needs assessment and weekly sessions
- Lead on facilitation of emotional well-being and psycho-educational groups
- Support young people transitioning from specialist CAMHS/AMHS services
- Work systemically with parents/carers, educators, and health professionals
- Develop links with agencies and make appropriate referrals
- Promote service user participation and voice
- Comply with safeguarding, health & safety, data protection and EDI policies
Qualifications, knowledge, and experience

Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. In some services, this will include providing physical, domestic, emotional and social care. They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices.
What you'll do:
* If a need arises, deliver all aspects of support to enable a customer to develop independent living skills as appropriate to the individual needs of the customer. In some services, this will include delivering personal and physical care as appropriate
* Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation
* Participate in the support planning and risk management, as facilitated by the lead Support Worker

Main purpose of the role

Age UK Croydon’s very successful Personal Safety Project (Falls Prevention) for older people in Croydon is recruiting a new Senior Personal Safety Assessor. If you are an enthusiastic, passionate and organised individual, this could be the role for you.
Our Personal Safety Project (PSP) is a free service which aims to help older people who have fallen or are at risk of falling at home. The service is available to anyone aged 50 and over who lives in the borough of Croydon.
Our trained assessors carry out a comprehensive risk assessment to identify potential causes of falls and hazards in the home and can arrange for stair rails, grab handles and other necessary aids and adaptations to be supplied and/or fitted, free of charge. The project can provide ongoing telephone support for up to six weeks to monitor the risk of further falls post engagement.
