This newly created role will coordinate persuasive proposals and bids with colleagues across the organisation– working to increase the reach of Phoenix Futures. You will support with the development of fundraising initiatives and produce high quality written materials demonstrating the measurable impact of our services on people’s lives.

The Role

As Strategic Development Officer, you will play a key supporting role in advancing our growth strategy across health and social care settings. Working closely with colleagues and partners, you will help to expand our reach across the UK, ensuring our services are available to those that need them.

You will be responsible for preparing and submitting high quality bids and funding proposals, coordinating input from cross functional teams and producing compelling communications materials. Your work will involve gathering evidence, best practice and case studies to showcase our impact as well as supporting fundraising initiatives and marketing analysis.

About You

Reporting directly to the Head of Strategy and Partnerships, you will:

• Be a experienced in bid writing, proposal development and supporting strategic initiatives.
• Be skilled at interpreting reports and data to communicate impact and value in compelling ways.
• Have strong organisation and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and coordinate contributions from diverse teams.
• Be comfortable working collaboratively and independently, adapting to changing priorities and supporting colleagues across the organisation.

The Interview

Westway Trust is looking for an inspiring and motivated Health & Social Care Tutor to deliver high-quality teaching to adult learners in North Kensington. You will design and deliver the Level 1 Award in Health and Social Care, supporting learners through engaging sessions, effective assessment, and tailored guidance.

The role involves preparing lessons and resources, carrying out initial assessments, tracking learner progress and attendance, and supporting learners to achieve positive outcomes. You will also contribute to the development of the adult learning programme and achieve key performance targets set by the GLA and RBKC.

Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

Teaching

• Deliver high quality sessions including theory and practical demonstrations.
• Lessons are well prepared, suitable resources are developed and marking and assessment is carried out to a high standard in a timely manner (including Scheme of Work and Lesson Plans)
• Appropriate diagnostics carried out to ensure learners are on the correct programme.
• Progress is monitored and tracked through one to ones and tutorials.
• Individual Learning Plans produced for all learners and termly Progress Reviews carried out and kept up to date.
• Learner attendance and punctuality is monitored and where this falls below expectations, suitable interventions are carried out.

Administration

• Maintaining up to date course files and submitting accurate data on attendance and achievement within agreed deadlines.
• Preparing groups of learners for accredited assessment (exam or portfolio) & non accredited assessment (RARPA), marking assessments and taking part in internal moderation and/or consultation meetings with appropriate Trust staff.
• Providing feedback on appropriate documentation for example observation, IQA reports etc.
• Running end of course evaluations and writing tutor end of course reviews.

General 

• To comply with any Health & Safety regulations and, in particular, be familiar with the procedure to be adopted in case of fire and or other Health and Safety concerns e.g. Risk Assessments.
• To attend and participate in meetings, including management meetings, end of term tutor meetings and Westway Trust staff meetings.
• Attending training with Westway Trust and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and keeping up to date with developments in adult learning.

Qualifications:

• A relevant qualification at Level 3 or higher in Health and Social Care or, equivalent relevant and recent experience.
• Either a full teaching qualification for working in adult learning (DTLLS, PGCE or DET) or, a willingness to work towards a teaching qualification
• Previous experience in assessing and tutoring adult health & social care learners.
• Proven experience in adult education.
• A minimum GCSE English Grade C or equivalent.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Experience of teaching and assessing Health and Social Care qualifications in post 16/further education or adult education.
• Experience of teaching adult learners of mixed abilities and an understanding of appropriate teaching strategies in a similar role.
• Occupational competence/experience in health and social care setting.
• Experience of assessing and recording progress, both in accredited and non-accredited learning and supporting learners.
• Knowledge and experience of working with a variety of exam boards.
• Understanding of the RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement in non-accredited learning) system.
• Experience of working/teaching refugees and or asylum seekers.

Personal Skills:

• The ability to plan programmes of work and develop creative, relevant activities that will facilitate learning.
• The ability to motivate and encourage learners with a variety of learning experiences and from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to work as part of a highly collaborative team.
• A flexible approach and a willingness to teach in a variety of community venues and to teach cover classes as required.

As Social Work Practice Assessor (Student Placement Coordinator) you will be working with universities, St Mungo's services and students on placement ensuring high quality and meaningful placements

In this role you will:

• Plan and manage social work students’ placements and ensure the provision of appropriate learning opportunities.
• Practice Educate up to 6 students at any one time whilst also overseeing the scheme.
• Facilitate the involvement of student nurses
• Provide support for local service-based supervisors to develop their knowledge and skills in supporting and supervising students on placement in their teams.

In this role you will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. This allows for training, in person collaboration, team building, line management and other relationship building opportunities. Role: Self-employed Form F Assessor

Locations: South East London, and North Kent

Pay - £2,250 per Form F Assessment / £37.50 per hour,  plus £250 bonus for ‘panel ready’ assessments, plus £250 bonus for completion within 16 weeks, plus 45p mileage

We are recruiting sessional assessing social workers to undertake Form F assessments .  Our assessments are undertaken face to face. Applicants should be able to travel across South East London, and North Kent areas for assessment visits to prospective foster carers. 

Key Duties for Form F Assessors include:

• To undertake and complete Form F assessments in the timescale set out in our policy and guidance.
• To visit personal referees as identified on application form for prospective foster carers.
• To ensure that all checks and references are undertaken and completed.
• To provide to the supervisor, regular written updates of the draft assessment.
• To liaise with our administrative team concerning the progress of administrative checks and completion of the Form F.
• To be available for supervision, consultation or liaison as required.
• To be available to present completed Form Fs to the virtual fostering panel and provide support to the applicants through this process.

Rates of Pay for Form F Assessors

• We will pay £2250 (inclusive of VAT) + up to £500 bonus payments (if criteria are met) upon submission of a successfully completed Form F Assessment.

Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. In some services, this will include providing physical, domestic, emotional and social care. They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices.

This is a great opportunity for someone to join our service supporting Unpaid Carers across Lewisham. In this role, you will work closely with Primary Care Networks, GP practices, local authorities, social workers, voluntary sector, community centres, and faith groups to help identify and engage with Unpaid Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers.  

In this role, you will support services to improve registration, communication, support and accessibility, promoting ‘Carer Friendly’ environments and practice that supports the wellbeing of Unpaid Carers.  

You’ll need to be able to develop effective relationships with key staff, agree action plans, establish communication pathways and provide updates. By collating and sharing successes, you will support the development of good practice across primary healthcare, social care and community services in the borough.

This is a 9 month fixed-term role and applicants will need relevant personal or professional experience of working with Unpaid Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector. You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Unpaid Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services.

Salary: £27,000

Our residents may have multiple and complex needs which includes with their mental health, substance use, and physical health. • Create tailored support plans through one to one sessions, group sessions, and multi agency meetings

About You

You will be motivated to help people overcome personal barriers and make a real difference to their lives, finding fulfilment in a role driven by a genuine commitment to supporting others. Experience in mental health or support work is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Social Worker to support children and young people diagnosed with cancer in our Liverpool Team.

We pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality support tailored to the needs of the children and young people and their families using a needs based assessment framework. The work we do is rewarding, but also complex and demanding. You will be part of a close-knit Young Lives vs Cancer social work team, working with an established NHS multi-disciplinary team and services in the community across Liverpool and Merseyside.

This role is part home, part site-based – within the parameters of our hybrid working arrangements you will work flexibly across home, Liverpool Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. Your contractual base will be both Home and the Hospitals. Your flexibility requirements and that of the role will be discussed at the interview stage.

What will I be doing?

No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.

• You will work in partnership with families to provide in-person and remote support to children and young people (0-24 years) diagnosed with cancer, and their families.
• You will provide practical and emotional support to mitigate the impact of a cancer diagnosis and provide support during the cancer journey via expert, needs-led interventions.
• You and your team will work closely with colleagues across our local NHS multi-disciplinary teams and other professionals in the community.
• You will ensure the voice of young cancer patients and their families are included in your work at all opportunities and take an active role in amplifying their voices internally and externally.
• You will be an active team member, regularly attending team meetings and contributing to shared learning and development.

What do I need?

You will be committed to delivering high quality social work support to promote the best outcomes for the children, young people and families we work with. You will have:

• A recognised Social Worker qualification and current registration with Social Work England / Scottish Social Services Council / Social Care Wales / Northern Ireland Social Care Council.

• Sound knowledge of child and young people development.
