Key Responsibilities:

- Act as key holder, unlocking and presenting facilities to hirers, ensuring secure closure and responding to emergencies.
- Manage lighting, heating, and meter readings while maintaining cleanliness and ordering supplies.
- Understand and comply with safety regulations, report defects, and complete required training.
- Liaise between hirers/users and the Board of Directors, undertaking general duties as needed.

The team works with unpaid Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers, completing statutory and holistic assessments to understand people’s individual circumstances and level of need. You will carry out home visits and community meetings, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Unpaid Carers, families, and professionals.  

You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Unpaid Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. You will also support the development of escalation plans so that Unpaid Carers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances that would impact negatively on ability to care.

Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with Unpaid Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector. You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Unpaid Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services. Experience of working in mental health or dementia services would be an advantage.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are hiring a Mental Health Floating Support Coordinator to support our Luton Service which delivers support to individuals living within the community who have support needs pertaining to their mental health and wellbeing. The service works alongside statutory services, with the aim of moving people on to independent living within two years. • Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs
• Able to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others

• Appropriate qualification: NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health & Social Care/Community Justice, or professional equivalent

Their teams provide support for individuals who are experiencing problematic substance use. As an Apprentice Recovery Coordinator, you can expect the following:

• You will be supported to build the skills and knowledge to be able to provide specialist, tailored support to enable service users to make positive changes. 
• You will work towards managing a caseload by creating, implementing, and reviewing recovery and treatment plans.
• You will contribute towards reducing substance-related harm to individuals and the wider community.
• You will work towards completing the Level 2 apprenticeship in Adult Care with a local training provider. This will include achieving Level 1 in functional skills (Maths & English) if you haven’t already. 

Skills & Experience

• You will have a passion for making a difference and fair chances for all should be at the core of everything you do.
• You will be empathic and understanding in nature.  
• As the role requires you to engage with study you must be willing to undertake a Level 2 apprenticeship in Adult Care with a local training provider. If you have existing health and social care qualifications at level 2 or higher then this may impact on your eligibility to undertake the role.
• A basic understanding of IT would be useful too as you will be using a laptop to help you carry out your job.
• Humankind recognises and values the support lived experience can offer individuals, this role encourages applicants who may have personal lived experience of alcohol/substance use and/or experience of accessing recovery services in support of alcohol/substance use/mental health issues. Community service and Volunteering will be taken into account.

We have an exciting opportunity to work as a Bristol City Robins Foundation Youth Mentor.

This is a 1-year fixed-term contract with a view to an extension in 2025.

Our youth mentor will work with young people in South Bristol and beyond. The role will see trusting relationships built between known young people in the community, support the young people and help guide them into positive provision or employment. The focus will be on the number of positive hours these young people can spend with their mentors and away from negative influences in their lives.

Your main responsibilities:

• Delivery of targeted 1-2-1 work with young people.
• Delivery of targeted individual and small group work with young people in schools.
• Develop positive relationships between you and the young people to ensure you get the best outcomes.
• Collect and store data to evidence the impact of the 1-2-1 work and mentoring to ensure it is sustainable and continues to change the lives of the young people we work with.
• To be part of developing our mentoring strategy and ensure we meet the needs of young people in Bristol now and in the long term.
• To use early intervention where possible and to provide long-term opportunities and pathways, working with clear evidence of need and agreed success criteria.
• Work closely with parents/carers and professionals to support the needs of their young people.
• Building new relationships with local schools, youth organisations and other agencies to increase capacity and referrals into programmes.

You will have:

• An understanding of the issues young people face, specifically in relation to young people in areas of deprivation.
• Experience in working with targeted groups or individuals in areas of deprivation through building positive relationships and mentoring.
• An understanding of safeguarding and health and safety in a youth work setting.
• A proven ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
• A commitment to supporting young people and the principles of equality and diversity.
• Self-motivated and the ability to work on own initiative.
• Excellent communication skills, including written, telephone and interpersonal skills.
• Proven planning and organization skills.
• IT literate.
• Full UK driving license.
