The Rough Sleeping Team in Oxford provide a rapid response service to support people at immediate risk of rough sleeping. We are currently looking for inspirational people to join the Somewhere Safe to Stay Service (SSTS) team as Assessment and Reconnection Workers where no day is the same. You will work as part of a busy, dedicated team while developing the necessary skills to:

• Provide direct support to people new to, or at risk of rough sleeping; working closely with individuals on assessment action plans which fully involves them in their recovery. To do this you will build positive working relationships with a range of services and individuals across Oxford.
• Work on the weekly shift rota including shifts from Mon – Fri 9am – 5pm, and some weekends and bank holidays.

About the role:

Responsibilities of our Finance Assistant:

This is an entry-level Finance Assistant position, the ideal candidate will have some experience working in an office-based finance team and looking to develop their skills and gain additional experience.

As our Finance Assistant you will provide processing and administrative support for the financial accounting activities of the charity. You will also provide a high-quality service and be responsible for ledgers they control.  The role will focus on a core area, either purchase ledger, banking or CPL Enterprises, but will be able to interchange with tasks in other areas. Duties will include processing PO’s and requests for payment, undertaking BACs and cheque payment runs, reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies, daily banking activities and other general administrative tasks.

What we’re looking for in our Finance Assistant:

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices are a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. We support families across Surrey and Southwest London from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.

At the heart of the hospice are our dedicated clinical staffs. Their exceptional commitment and professionalism is commented on by so many of the supported children and their families. 

It costs £10.5 million a year to maintain our current level of care. Only 30% of that income comes from government funding via the NHS or local authorities, so we rely on our supporters’ generosity to keep the service running. We employ 175 staff, including 98 nursing and medical staff, providing hospice and community-based services to around 700 families.

Predominantly we work with families living in the Northwest and Southwest of London and Surrey, although will accept children outside these geographical areas if they do not have access to specialist palliative care support locally.  We have a reputation for delivering high quality care.  We have a CQC rating of ‘Outstanding’

 

Introduction

Retail and Volunteers Team: Our Retail and Volunteers Team manages our charity shops and volunteer programs, which play a crucial role in supporting our mission. They recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to staff our shops and assist with various tasks, such as sorting donations and serving customers. Additionally, they oversee the operations of our retail outlets, ensuring that they are efficiently run to generate income for our hospices.

Part 1: Job Profile

 

a) Main purpose of  job

In the absence of the manager or assistant managers to lead a team of volunteers to maximise sales, deliver excellent customer service and ensure that the shop premises and assets are maintained to a high standard, according to legal requirements and Shooting Star Children’s Hospices (SSCH) policies and procedures. 

Decision Making Authority

The post holder will be required to make decisions on the quality, and suitability of donations before they are placed on sale. Depending on the length of the cover period they may be required to dress the windows. (They will follow price guidelines and existing display layout throughout the shop.)

The post holder will work with eCommerce Manager to decide if items would be suitable for selling at a higher price on eBay or through a promotional event and set these aside for the manager of the shop to deal with on their return.

The post holder will support with rostering of the team of volunteers where necessary and delegation of duties and jobs.

• Ensure that the advertised trading hours of the shop are adhered to

• Process all donations as soon as possible, prioritising Gift Aid and high value items

• Prepare and clean items appropriately for display

• Oversee the recycling and arranging of collections

• Promote Gift Aid is at all available opportunities

• Ensure that the ongoing need for donations is publicised

• Price and ticket all items according to pricing strategy for the shop and ensure that all pricing and ticketing complies with legislation

• Ensure that stock is properly managed and rotated in accordance with latest guidance

The Marketing and Communications Manager will be highly motivated, and results driven. You will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing a strategy to enhance Action4Youths profile. The Senior Designer will play a crucial role in raising brand awareness and creating and implementing designs that effectively communicate our charity’s vision and brand image.

Main Responsibilities:

- Ensure all marketing collateral, channels and communications are on brand, consistent, and employ best practice.
- Lead on the creation of all campaign visual identities collaborating with the Design Officer.

The Digital Fundraising Manager for WWF International will work to deliver effective digital strategies and techniques across selected markets, with the ultimate aim of maximising short and long term income (primarily unrestricted). The post-holder will create and implement online donor acquisition and retention strategies, as well as develop a diverse portfolio of fundraising products for WWF International. The role is also responsible for providing vision and leadership for WWF International in the fast-moving area of digital fundraising.

WWF International is aiming to strengthen its digital fundraising capacity by optimising the current technical infrastructure (contact management tool, mass engagement tool, etc) and develop a strong online donor experience to acquire and retain donors in selected WWF International markets.

The ideal candidate will have significant levels of experience in the field of digital fundraising and of using digital to drive supporter action online and offline. This should include experience of designing, planning and delivering successful digital activities, such as designing and optimising the donor journey, SEM/SEO/SMO, social media (paid social) and/or digital advertising campaigns (paid search, Google grants) that generate incremental income. In terms of skills, you will need to be creative, entrepreneurial, be able to think strategically, design effective data-based action plans, and possess excellent project management skills. About the role 

We're looking for a highly motivated and skilled Bid Manager who can actively craft commercial tender submissions and work with the team to ensure we submit high-quality, winning bids within UK government procurement rules.

You will sit in the Business and Strategy directorate and lead bid-writing across the organisation, line-managing a team of Bid Writers and working closely with other colleagues across Business Development, Marketing and Operations.

This position is a full-time, 35 hours a week, permanent contract with a starting salary between £44,500 - £50,000 per annum depending on skills and experience. Summary of role: Our Green Doctors deliver home visits and telephone consultations across Slough, Maidenhead & Windsor & the surrounding areas.  Consultations are a mix of advice, installation of small practical energy-saving measures such as low energy light bulbs and draft proofing and referring on to other health and wellbeing services. We aim to reduce our client’s energy bills and save them money in a variety of ways including providing a bill switching service.

You will be a practical, people-person with a passion for helping vulnerable people. You must have either knowledge or experience in energy efficiency to provide tailored energy saving advice, and the ability to adapt your approach to suit our client’s varying needs.

You must be comfortable with lone working and in managing your own workload. 

A qualification as Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA), NVQ Level 3 (6049-03) Provide Energy Efficiency Services, or City and Guilds Energy Awareness (6281-01) is desirable, but relevant experience within the field or a willingness to take the qualification will be considered. (20 paid study hours).

A full clean driving license is required.
