We are looking for a new team member who can provide support to refugee families across Lincolnshire. Due to the nature of the work, you would need to hold a full UK driving licence, have access to a car, and be willing to travel to visit families, as well as attend team meetings in Derby.

Purpose of the role:

Assisting in the resettlement of vulnerable refugees and Afghan evacuees through the provision of advice, guidance, and support.

Context of the role.

Upbeat Communities delivers several services to welcome refugees and support them to rebuild their lives. We are looking to recruit an Integration Worker who will offer support working on the refugee resettlement scheme.

Refugee resettlement takes place across Derbyshire and Lincolnshire. Over the past 7 years, Upbeat Communities has welcomed and played a key part in the resettlement of Syrian refugees in partnership with local authorities in both counties. This role has included supporting families to apply for universal credit and set up bank accounts, registering with GPs and local schools in addition to integrating into their local community. Since the summer of 2021, we have taken on responsibility for the resettlement of Afghan families in both regions.

This role requires working within a fast-paced and dynamic environment to manage a caseload of participants' families, with a lot of travel across the county of Lincolnshire. Areas covered could including Sleaford, Bourne, Spalding, Skegness, Boston.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Support the arrival and welcome of refugees and evacuees being resettled through initial reception and orientation.
• Promote the integration and independence of all those arriving through the Resettlement schemes. 
• Provide advice and support to individuals on benefits, housing, health, education, employment, and any other appropriate services required as part of the resettlement process; through home visits, outreach sessions, and attending appointments.
• Accompany individuals and families to appointments as required e.g. opticians, dentists.
• Encourage and support families to engage in community activities, and work towards integration and independence.
• Develop and maintain a supportive and empowering relationships founded on mutual respect, trust and the strengths of individuals.
• Communicate information to participants clearly and promptly, through the use of interpreters where required.
• Liaise with local authorities, housing providers, GPs, schools, and other relevant statutory services to ensure smooth referral, registration, and updates.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with external stakeholders to facilitate access to mainstream services for those in the scheme, to promote integration and independence.
• Engage with local voluntary and community sector organisations and networks to promote a culture of welcome and support for all participants.
• Deliver awareness sessions about the resettlement scheme and the needs of those being resettled, to a range of stakeholders and interested parties.
• Contribute to the review and development of the resettlement scheme.
• Carry out monitoring and evaluation processes as appropriate.
• Make an active contribution to the overall work of Upbeat Communities through team meetings, staff training, awareness and fundraising events, and any other appropriate activities.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• At least 1 years’ experience of working directly with refugees (or vulnerable clients) in a support setting, providing advice, information, and guidance on a range of issues including benefits, housing, health services, education, and employment.
• Knowledge and understanding of the needs and experiences of asylum seekers refugees newly arrived in the UK.
• Experience of working with people from different cultures and backgrounds and an understanding of cultural diversity, equal opportunities.
• Knowledge and understanding of the roles that empowerment and independence play in the integration of refugees.
• Good spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate to participants and external agencies.

 Desirable

• Ability to speak a second language relevant to the refugee communities we work with (e.g. Arabic, Dari, Farsi, French, Pashtu, Sorani, Spanish, Tigrinya).
• Experience of delivering training or awareness sessions to a range of different audiences.
• Experience of working with families and children.

Age UK Richmond upon Thames are a local independent charity providing support for older people throughout the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Our wide range of services have a positive and long-lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of local older people.

We currently have an immediate excellent opportunity for flexible and proactive individual to join our Nightingale Home from Hospital service, which provides support to older people over the age of 65 living in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames on their return home from hospital or when they have become unwell in the community.

The team is involved in organising and delivering tasks which facilitate a speedy hospital discharge / make the home safer to avoid readmission and avoid admission in the first place. This includes preparing the home for discharge; fitting keysafes; moving furniture; shopping; arranging travel and providing advice.

The role will involve:

- Managing a caseload of clients.

- Developing a holistic plan of support, and directly delivering aspects of it.

- Liaising with hospitals, social workers, volunteers, family members, carers and other voluntary sector organisations and services.

- Administration related to the delivery of the service.

We are looking for an individual with experience in a health or social care related field, has an understanding of the challenges facing older people upon leaving hospital, has access to their own transport and is able to undertake physical tasks associated with preparing the home for discharge. Job Title: Homelessness Lead Worker (Internally this role is known asLead Worker Intensive Case Management)

As Lead Worker (Intensive Case Management), you will be the Lead Worker for people who need significant support to end their homelessness. The team will work closely with other agencies to ensure sustainable housing solutions can be achieved.

To be successful in this role you will have experience of working within a relevant sector delivering support to vulnerable adults. You will have exceptional knowledge of relevant housing, homelessness, and welfare legislation. You will have an awareness of the barriers to engagement and participation experienced by homeless and marginalised people and will understand how these barriers will be overcome. You will have the ability to make collaborative, consistent and persistent relationships with each person, and will have strong networking and partnership development skills to ensure the best outcomes with everyone. 

You may have experience in, housing, homelessness, welfare, complex needs, mental health, social care, offender management, support work, well-being.

The role of the Support Officer within the Money Advice Team is to support clients who contact the office by email or telephone, offering them initial advice and support with welfare benefits, money management and emergency food, and referring to other organisations.  In addition, the role involves general administrative tasks such as responding to emails and messages, creating client records, and arranging appointments with Advisers.

Responsibilities and Duties 

Advice work and support 

• Triage people referred to the foodbank via Scottish Welfare Fund, and those who contact EFP directly, including information gathering, benefit checks, referrals for energy support and emergency food 

• Signpost people to external agencies and partner organisations 

• Create client records using Advice Pro, including verifying client information for accuracy and make amendments when necessary, ensuring people are aware of how their data is stored and used (GDPR) 

• Form completion with clients – for example Social Welfare Fund crisis and community grants 

• Attend training relevant to the post 

Admin support 

• Create debt packs to be sent to people, including creating template letters and ensuring documents are accurate and up to date and completion of income and expenditure forms 

• Scan and record letters received for advisers ensuring information is stored securely on Advice Pro

• Take minutes at team meetings 

• Collate statistical data

• Collate case studies of client success stories 

Other duties 

• Adhere to the policies and procedures of Edinburgh Food Project 

• Any other reasonable tasks as requested by the senior management team 

We have a very exciting opportunity for anyone who enjoys working on the front-line of patient support across Dorset.

This role will deliver Kidney Care UK’s Patient Support and Advocacy service in the region. This varied role deals with every aspect of a patient’s life that supports better outcomes: welfare benefits, practical, emotional and social support. As well as directly supporting patients, you will raise awareness of the wide range of local and national resources available to kidney patients, and build strong relationships with kidney patients, professionals, and other stakeholder groups in the region.

The Role (30hrs per week)

· To provide day to day management and supervision of our remote Support Team, providing guidance and support to deliver appropriate information and advice for our mums and families.

Job Purpose & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the post holder will manage the Support Team at Mummy’s Star. More specifically you will be responsible for:

Support Team Management (50%)

• Provide quality support, leadership, development and line management
• Oversee the delivery of individual, tailored support for families

· Regular review and assessment of caseload including co-ordinating weekly caseload meetings and management of new grant application flow to Trustees.

· Work with the support team to regularly monitor, evaluate and report on the support provided by Mummy’s Star.

· Act as Lead Professional in complex cases if required.

· Working with the CEO and Operations Manager to ensure the wider team has appropriate resources and support around wellbeing

· Complying with the charity’s administration, monitoring and financial systems

· Working in close partnership with health care professionals, charities, and other key stakeholders

· Work with the Operations Manager to develop new engagement tools for families to improve accessibility.

· Assist the team to co-ordinate the Ask the Expert events and other resources

· Contribute to, and support the development of, the charity locally, regionally, and nationally

Information and Support Casework Delivery (50%)

· Receiving referrals and assessing needs of families from contact via self referral (post, email, online and social media) and third party referrals (health care professionals, families and charities)

· Providing families with the appropriate support based on their needs, this will include 121 emotional support, signposting to financial/practical support and peer support via our online forum.

· Ensuring support to mums and families is reviewed at regular intervals. 

· Maintain and monitor the online peer support forum.

Other Duties and information about the role

· The post holder may be required to undertake any other duties that fall within the nature of the role and responsibilities of the post as required to support the charity and beneficiaries.

· Some evening and weekend work may be required but time off in lieu (TOIL) will be given for this.

The young people we work with have become homeless for a number of reasons – isolation or mental ill health, abusive relationships, substance misuse, involvement in gangs/county lines - their issues are complex so you will need to be able to build strong, trusting relationships so that our customers feel safe and supported. 

We are opening two new supported housing schemes in Lewisham.  Both schemes are part of our well-established Young Persons and Complex Needs service in London and will provide temporary housing for young people aged 16-17 who are experiencing homelessness.

A bit about the role:

As a Caseworker, you will be working with a team of highly motivated, compassionate, and dedicated colleagues supporting a caseload of young customers with complex needs. You’ll need to meet each customer weekly to help them with their goals and discuss their progress. And, when someone’s ready to move on, we'll rely on you to help them access the housing register or look for suitable rented accommodation.

What we’re looking for:

You may have worked with vulnerable young people in a paid or voluntary capacity, maybe as a Youth Worker or in an education setting providing pastoral care. You’re a great relationship builder, who can create trust so that our young people feel comfortable sharing their issues with you, you listen but in a non-judgemental way and you are able to spot signs for concern and act on them.

You’ll also need to be able to work on your own, sometimes dealing with challenging situations and diffusing them to avoid escalation. Is this you?

This role is based at our centre a short walk from Clapham Common tube station, in London. We support homeless people from the local area and further afield. Our services are open access, so the people who come to the Ace of Clubs are diverse and from multiple walks of life. Consequently their needs can be complex, so we are looking for a skilled communicator who can support people, many of who live chaotic lifestyles. Our purpose at the Ace of Clubs is to address people’s basic human needs by providing food, clothing, toiletries, and practical support. We help people link up with housing, healthcare, education, and employment. Our Support Workers work to help individuals overcome barriers to achieving wellbeing, whether it be through guidance in the support system, learning new skills or supporting service users to build the confidence and skills to enable them to navigate their life challenges and advocate for themselves. The ultimate aim of our work is to reduce people’s dependence on our service, helping them move toward independence.

KEY DUTIES

• To participate in the provision of advice and advocacy for service users addressing their needs in the following areas; Housing; Welfare; Health; Education; Employment, (this list is not exhaustive);
• Refer to and liaise with partners and agencies within the statutory and voluntary sector to secure positive outcomes for Centre Users, e.g. referring and signposting guests to accommodation providers, health services and other relevant internal and external support services, as necessary.
• Work in a manner which honours our organisational values and is responsive to the trauma and experiences of homelessness and vulnerable adults.
• Maintain essential records accurately on Charity Log, (ensuring high quality case recordings).
• Ensuring the Centre Manager is kept informed of all safeguarding and risk concerns.
• Employing creative thinking and practices to ensure that guests are supported and motivated to achieve their goals.
