About the role:

This role is based at Accrington working in a multi agency team at Lancashire House. As a MARRAC Team Leader you will:

• Ensure the effective delivery of the MARRAC process, hosting daily discussions with dedicated partners to support the initial assessment process
• Ensure consistent service delivery by allocating & monitoring work across the team, prioritising according to risk
• Work alongside the police safeguarding teams to deliver Operation Provide
• Chair MARRAC meetings, facilitating the sharing of sensitive information securely to deliver robust outcomes for victims
• Complete case management audits & produce reports
• Be responsible for safeguarding quality assurance & compliance, providing guidance on safeguarding issues
• Line manage a team including recruitment, training & coaching, performance management

You will need:

• Managment experience for a team delivering front line support
• An IDVA Safelives qualification or equivalent
• An understadning of domestic abuse & it's impact
• Knowledge of risk assessment, safety planning & risk management
• To understand Safeguarding issues & the legal responsibilities surrounding these
• Theoretical, practical & procedural knowledge of civil & criminal justice remedies
• The ability to work with partner agencies
• Good organisational skills & the ability to prioritise effectively
• Strong crisis management skills, able to deal with stressful & difficult situations

AAUK are seeking a dedicated  Supporter Communications Mailing Officer to support  The Child Sponsorship Communication Programme team's operations. 

This team is responsible for the safeguarding, checking and despatching of over 100,000 child messages, transfer packs and photo updates annually to supporters.  The team will be in receipt of physical child drawings, letters and photos from ActionAid’s operating countries, quality checking for authenticity and importantly, identifying and reporting any child safeguarding issues. The team is responsible for the final matching and despatching of the communications to supporters within the agreed communication timeframe. The team are also involved in the safeguarding and logging of correspondence from child sponsors back to the children who are sponsored. 

Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be asked to participate in criminal records checks at the point of offer.

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. This will include a team of Housing Caseworkers who will carry out assessments and advocacy work with young people under 25 who are fleeing violence and exploitation, in order to move them on successfully into both emergency and long-term housing options. Salary: £31,200 - £34,736

New Horizon Youth Centre runs a busy day centre from Monday to Friday, providing basic needs to young people experiencing homelessness and a one-stop-shop for housing advice, youth work activities, counselling, jobs, education and training support. The Services Manager (Day Centre) is a brand new role for the organisation. They will work as part of the existing Youth Work Team to provide vital additional capacity and expertise to respond to the significantly increased demand we have been experiencing. This role is primarily focused on delivering our frontline day centre service each week. You will spend around 2-3 days per week frontline as our Duty Manager ensuring the smooth running of the day centre. This a front-line role, delivering a family support service in person in Lambeth. The successful candidate will be based  in our offices in Lambeth.  Much of the work will involve outreach and delivery in Early Years settings, child development centres and nurseries throughout Lambeth.  What we are looking for:

• Experience of working with and supporting families who have disabled children, and in particular, working with families who have disabled children aged 0-2 years
• Good communication responsive to the needs of families of very young children who may be facing uncertainty and challenges at the beginning of understanding their child’s additional needs
• Good organisational and administrative skills
• Knowledge and experience of the issues and concerns that affect families who have disabled children e.g. leisure provision, education, respite care.
• Knowledge of issues relating to maximising income, tackling debt and budgeting, accessing financial support, tax credits and other financial issues.
• Good communication, time management and networking skills.

Aside from the 50+ young people we see every day at our day centre, New Horizon’s Outreach service also works with young people on the streets and in the community. The team works pan London to deliver a unique, youth-specific outreach service to young people currently or at risk of rough sleeping. We use our extensive housing expertise to place those young people into accommodation that is appropriate and safe whilst encouraging them to access the day centre to benefit from the wide range of services we offer. The Outreach Worker will work as part of Rough Sleeping Team to deliver at least two street outreach shifts per week and transitional casework to young people facing rough sleeping. You will need to be willing to work early mornings and late evenings, to travel across London to identify young people who need our support, and to work flexibly to respond to evolving needs. Main Duties and Responsibilities

Management Team:

• As part of the Management Team to oversee the function of the organisation and its strategic development, especially in relation to SRS’s advice service

Service Development

• Be responsible for developing the advice service according to organisational needs and strategy

 Team Management:

• To line manage and develop a team of Advice Workers and Reception/Admin Officer, to ensure they are suitably trained and supported to deliver a high-quality advice service across the county
• To line manage the Employment and Training Coordinator to ensure the employment and training team delivers an effective and cohesive service, which complements the work of the advice team

 Management of Advice Service and Direct Service Provision:

• To ensure that the advice service promotes equality of access to all asylum seekers and refugees (clients) seeking advice and that they feel welcome and effectively supported
• To manage the advice team across the following areas:

1. To assess clients’ needs and propose actions to address these needs (e.g. writing letters or emails and/or making telephone calls) in a professional manner
2. To ensure that clients have access to advice about all aspects of living in the UK and to ensure they understand their rights and responsibilities under UK law

• Be responsible for decision making and for ensuring that direct funding and grants to clients are in line with policy

• To keep abreast of numbers of new arrivals of asylum seekers into Suffolk
• To facilitate clothing donations to those in most need, ensuring that stocks are maintained
• To ensure that clients in asylum accommodation across Suffolk can access our services
• To develop and oversee positive activities for asylum seekers, such as sports and music groups (in liaison with SRS's Operations Manager)

Immigration support lead

• To develop good relationships with immigration legal services and solicitors to ensure that clients can access the information they require and that clients understand the processes they are going through

 Vulnerable Client & Safeguarding Lead

• To be the support lead for very vulnerable clients or where there are cases with safeguarding concerns

Client representation

• To promote the views and experiences of SRS’s clients at external meetings and advisory boards, by participation in face to face and virtual meetings and in giving occasional presentations, using on-the-ground knowledge

Partnership working

• To develop and maintain good working relationships with external service providers and agencies, and to oversee joint working and services development

Monitoring, Evaluation and Donor Reporting

• To ensure services given and outcomes achieved are recorded on internal monitoring systems and that data protection regulations are adhered to
• To provide monthly summary reports for the Charity Manager and board of trustees
• To compile reports in reference to our funders’ outcomes and targets
• To help with the development & administration of written information produced by SRS for our clients’ benefit

About the team 

Shelter North East has been based in Newcastle for over 25 years and we provide advice across 12 local authorities We have an advice team, a legal team, support services which are made up of a Housing First project, along with a DIYSA service and hub administrators. We also have a number of national staff who support our work, such as a Community Fundraiser, Community Organiser and an Involvement Officer. Our services are provided either from our hub base or through outreach locations,  to give communities easier access to support and advice. 

About the role 

As an Engagement Worker, you will  be pivotal in delivering Shelter’s purpose to defend the right to a safe home by enabling those we assist to enforce their housing rights. You will be a key member of our local team, delivering intensive support to a small number of individuals with multiple disadvantage to move from homelessness to sustaining a tenancy. Your role will be fundamental in supporting someone on their journey through Housing First.  Mainly based in the West End of Newcastle, you will support up to 7 clients at any one time, applying the homeless link principles of housing first. 

Also, you will be part of a wider team that promotes and supports housing rights awareness and activism within communities in order to achieve the North East Hub’s local priorities. Ashiana provides specialist support to women and girls effected by domestic violence. We are seeking an experienced female counsellor to join our counselling team.

Seeking candidates with:

Recognised professional counselling qualification

A member of recognised therapeutic body i.e., BACP, UKCP

BACP accredited or working towards accreditation

Minimum 250 Hours of clinical experience

Minimum of two years experience of supporting women and girls who have experienced domestic violence

An understanding of VAWG and the impact of trauma, as well as working from a trauma focused model

Ability to provide counselling in at least one South Asian language

Your mission: to support and empower young people to develop the lifelong tools they need to lead fulfilling lives outside the confines of traditional services. You will carry a caseload of clients who you will formulate a comprehensive support and safety plan with, which forms part of the ongoing casework, promoting independence and preparing young people for moving into independent accommodation, and employment and education.

About the Role:

As the Young Person's Worker, you will be working within a strengths and recovery framework embedded within a trauma informed approach to ensure client needs and aspirations are at the centre of the support planning process. You will be the lead worker overseeing the support and development of the young person’s needs and aspirations. You will guide and signpost the young person to the relevant statutory and non statutory services and will be key in motivating and coaching the young person to develop independent living skills.

• You bring experience working with young people in the community and in accommodation services.
• Your toolkit includes practical skills in motivation and coaching young people
• Your approach is creative, analytical, trauma-informed and rooted in a strengths and recovery model.
• You can creatively inspire opportunities for our young people to thrive and to develop to their highest potential.
• A non-judgmental approach to working with complex needs young people and to promote a strengths-based approach and an understanding of and commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.
• Strong team-working and interpersonal skills, maintaining a collaborative approach to supporting young people achieve the outcomes and goals we support them to set for themselves.
