Content Operations Manager
The Role
This is a new role and an opportunity to build the Content Operations function that will make content planning work better across the Law Society.
You will run the shared planning system that connects content work across teams, bringing clarity to priorities, strengthening the route from brief to publication and keeping member need at the centre of decisions.
Reporting to the Head of Content & Digital, you will lead quarterly planning and prioritisation sessions, manage the cross-team planner and briefing process, and use sound editorial judgement to help colleagues make fair, transparent choices when priorities compete.
You will spot delays and dependencies early, bring the right people together to unblock them and improve the workflows content moves through. You will also line manage the Content Operations Executive and help colleagues understand and use Content Operations as a practical service, not a gatekeeping function.
This isn't a content-producing role. It calls for someone who combines editorial judgement, process rigour and confident facilitation, and who can build trusted relationships across a complex organisation.
What we're looking for
- Experience of running an editorial or content planning process across more than one team or function.
- Confident facilitation skills, including preparing and leading planning or prioritisation sessions with senior colleagues.
- Sound editorial judgement, with the ability to weigh content by audience, purpose and priority.
- Strong organisational and process skills, including keeping shared systems accurate and current.
- A track record of building trusted relationships and negotiating with stakeholders across a complex organisation.
