Purpose of the Post

People are our greatest asset, and we believe in developing the hearts and minds of our team and our wider network of VCSE partners.

The Director of Culture will provide leadership to ensure the VCSA has a supportive, inclusive, and high-performing culture across the organisation. This role ensures that our people feel valued, empowered, and aligned with our mission and values.

You will lead the design and implementation of our People and Culture strategy — embedding wellbeing, inclusion, and continuous learning across the organisation, ensuring every member of staff feels valued and empowered to achieve their best.

You will work alongside our Chair and lead the embedding of our Anti-Racist principles within the organisation.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Culture will work as part of that team to contribute to strategic planning and to ensure that the VCSA is a great place to work, where people thrive and feel valued.

You will provide leadership for the VCS Alliance workforce and support the wider VCSE sector. Including delivery, community, inclusivity, belonging, being solution-focused, relational, and having collaborative approaches. You will lead our commitment to becoming a genuinely Anti-Racist and intersectional organisation.

The Details

Hours: Up to 35 hours per week
Salary: £50,000 FTE
Location: Working hybrid but based at Perkin House, Bradford.

About Us

The VCS Alliance is a charity dedicated to transforming health and social care across Bradford District and Craven. To do this, we act as a bridge between the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector and the Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership, channelling investment into the sector to deliver transformational programmes. These programmes keep people out of front-line and emergency health services, and address health inequalities.

We also provide and support Bradford District and Craven’s VCSE sector voice, contributing to system conversations and leading to better outcomes for our diverse communities. To do our work, we support the convening of spaces and organisations for collaborative conversations, leading to better outcomes and learning.
