This is a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced, hands-on Business Development Manager to join a growing social enterprise at a pivitol moment of national growth. You’ll lead on securing income through contracts, tenders, grants, and traded services, taking full ownership of the business development function from prospecting to proposal, and from pitching to handover.

This is not an entry level role. We’re looking for someone who already knows how to build and run a successful business development function and is excited to apply that experience in a purpose-led context. You’ll be leading the full income generating process from identifying opportunities and pursing them to writing compelling bids, building relationships, and converting leads into sustainable revenue. You will also be comfortable with the administration that comes with working with funders.

Role Context: You won’t be managing a team (yet), so we’re looking for someone who’s confident working independently; equally comfortable with research, writing, relationship management, and seeing things through to delivery. You’ll work closely with our CEO (who also leads operations), our Marketing Officer, and our Project Administrator to ensure the income you generate is aligned with our mission and deliverable by our team. As we prepare to launch our new qualifications, this role will play a central part in helping Junction Point CIC expand from a strong regional foundation to national reach.

Key responsibilities: As Business Development Manager, you will:

•  Lead the development and implementation of Junction Point’s business development strategy
•  Proactively identify and pursue new income opportunities across contracts, grants, and traded services
•  Write high-quality tenders, funding bids, and proposals that reflect our values and offer
•  Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline using CRM tools (to be introduced)
•  Track and report on conversion rates, income secured, and pipeline progress
•  Represent Junction Point at sector events and networking opportunities
•  Manage relationships with commissioners, partners and funders from first contact to deal close
•  Work with the CEO and Marketing Officer to shape offers, pricing and marketing strategy
•  Coordinate smooth handovers to delivery teams and maintain accountability through contract start-up

About the role

Last year we launched a new website which provides independent online information, advice and support for kinship carers. This year, we’re continuing to develop new advice and information content for the website, as well as working on content for projects that focus on supporting kinship carers.

The postholder will research, create and deliver engaging, user-focused content, and deliver a seamless user content experience throughout all content development. Working with kinship carers and subject matter experts will be a big part of your role. 

You will be working on content in a range of formats, including web copy, printed guides, presentations for training, workshop materials (digital and printed), video and more.

One day you could be carrying out research with kinship carers, on another you could be doing paired writing with a subject matter expert to explain the different types of kinship care.

You’ll be confident facilitating discovery and research and building user stories and job stories with clear user goals.

Key Responsibilities

Initial Contact & Needs Assessment

• Inbound Enquiries: Respond to incoming calls, emails, or online requests, providing a welcoming and empathetic first point of contact.

Westway Trust is looking for a dedicated and reliable experienced Cleaning Operative to provide supervised access to the new public toilets located on Acklam Road, next to Portobello Market. The primary responsibility of the Cleaning Operative will be to ensure the facility and its surroundings are maintained to a high standard, checked regularly and kept clean, secure and inviting to users at all times. The secondary part to this role is to publicise the Trust’s activities that take place on the Trust’s 23 acres of land in North Kensington by distributing information and leaflets to the members of the public who use or pass by the toilet facilities and the surrounding area. 

The role requires someone with a good physical stamina, who is friendly and a confident communicator with an energetic approach to work, and will be fully committed to achieving a consistent standard of cleanliness and appearance throughout the facility.

This is a part-time role of up to 30 hours per week. Working patterns will be discussed at the interview stage.

• To open and lock the facility and return the key to the Trust’s offices.

We’re looking for a Senior STH Practitioner who can manage the delivery of high quality and effective Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) programmes in London for adults and young people with a range of disabilities and health conditions.

We work in Lebanon with Syrian and Palestinian women, and in the UK with women from all over the world. 

Our arts projects include theatre and craft therapy, filmmaking and feminist embroidery. We also facilitate access to training, education and income generation opportunities, and run workshops on parenting support and on women’s rights in a context of rights for all. 

Our flagship Oshana project provides refugee women in Lebanon with a dignified income, a supportive community, and a creative outlet for trauma through embroidery and crochet - and has built a reputation for beautiful design and impeccable craftsmanship. 

We are a young but ambitious organisation that is transforming the lives of hundreds of refugee women and their families in Lebanon, and dozens in the UK. We have rapidly grown over the past three years, with an accompanying increase in income.

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Finance and Administration Manager to lead on developing and maintaining our financial and organisational systems, enabling Makani to increase our impact on the lives of refugee women. 

Position: Finance and Administration Manager

Contract type: Permanent - but also open to applications on a consultant basis

Responsible to: Director of Operations

Location: Home-based, with occasional meetings in London (transport costs covered)

Hours: 20 hours per week, core hours to be agreed upon appointment, flexitime-friendly

KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance

• Work with the Executive team to set and monitor annual budgets

• Prepare end-of-year accounts 

• Oversee payroll and ensure timely invoice payments

Administration & HR

• Support the board and senior staff to maintain and update charity policies (safeguarding, finance, HR, etc.)

• Support the board to develop HR processes to ensure legal compliance 

• Organise and minute quarterly trustee meetings

• Book travel and support with other logistics as needed

• Other administrative tasks as relevant and appropriate
   

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

You will have:

• Proven experience in charity financial management, including restricted/unrestricted funding

• Familiarity with or willingness to learn Xero accounting software

• Familiarity with UK charity accounting and reporting standards

• Strong organisational and administrative skills

• Ability to work independently and remotely and to communicate well in a small team

• Understanding of good HR policies and practice for small charities 

• Understanding of or willingness to learn about other key areas of compliance such as data protection

Resurrection Trading (known as Resurrection Furniture) is a vibrant friendly charity shop in Alton High Street specialising in recycled second hand furniture and home goods. We need an efficient organiser to lead our team of volunteers, manage the office and bring a creative flair to display and sales.

About us
We opened in Alton in 2017 and in 2022 moved to larger premises at 21b High Street. The charity is linked to the Parish of the Resurrection. All profits from the shop go to good causes in Alton, especially to support youth related projects, people in need, heritage buildings and the community.

The shop is a busy, friendly place supported by a skilled team of repairers in the workshop and a lively band of drivers and lifters on the van. In total we have more than 50 volunteers and the charity is led by a team of Trustees. The shop is open 10 to 4pm Monday to Saturday.

Job Summary
The Manager’s role is typical for a retail high street shop except that there is no head office or back up staff - the manager and volunteers between them carry out all functions. These include:
Daily office administration - communications especially daily emails, Facebook messages and phone calls re furniture donations and sales, discussions with volunteers.
Coordination of volunteers including induction training, support and leadership,
Organising donations – selection, collection, pricing, display and delivery.
Shop organisation, administration and reporting to Trustees including publicity
 

Key Responsibilities:

Office Administration
• Deal promptly with shop communications via telephone, emails, Facebook and in person each day relating to donations, sales, and messages from volunteers
• Maintain data including personnel and customer information, finance and other record keeping.
• Manage the system of agreeing furniture donations, arranging collections from and deliveries to homes around Alton and booking slots on the van.
• Order shop supplies and maintain health and safety systems
• Manage gift aid documentation and other notices.
• Liaise with the workshop team, the van team, the Parish monthly market and Trustees

Volunteer Coordination
• Manage the volunteer rota ensuring that the shop is staffed by two to three volunteers including a lead volunteer per shift six days per week.
• Support the Trustee who manages the van rota currently four mornings per week depending on demand.
• Identify and recruit new volunteers as necessary, organise induction and regular training especially relating to health and safety, cash management and shop and van routine.
• Frequently communicate with volunteers in person, via the notice board, email and newsletter on shop organisation, sales new personnel and events.
• Liaise with lead volunteers regularly on organisation and volunteer issues.

Managing donations and sales
• In conjunction with volunteers decide on items to be accepted based on quality, saleability, existing stock from photos and other information.
• Value items not already priced by volunteers using the RF pricing guide and on-line apps.
• Ensure the shop is full of a wide range of items with back up stock kept in the store offsite.
• Promote donations via estate agents, care homes, general publicity and regular house clearances

Shop organisation
• Arrange for regular updating of shop and window displays
• Keep the shop and workshop clean and a safe environment
• Ensure that volunteers follow RF policies and procedures
• Ensure good customer relations including dealing with complaints
• Publicity including a newsletter and Facebook and website pages

We offer

• £15 per hour or £15,600 - £19500 (depending on hours worked)

· Between 20 and 25 hours per week spread across four or five days

• Saturday working required approximately quarterly with time off in lieu.

Essential

• Education at least to A Level, HNC or equivalent. Assessment of relevant experience may be used instead of formal qualifications. GCSE English and Maths
• Proven computer and office- based systems including Word, Excel, Power point and project management

Working alongside volunteers, this role will support people with learning disabilities, autism, long term health conditions or disabilities. Delivering horticulture qualifications for client gardeners, such as tutor and assessor for the City & Guild Level 1 Practical Horticulture Skills.

Based at Thrive’s London Centre in Battersea Park. The role will involve some work undertaken off-site in London and occasional travel to the Thrive Centres in Reading and Birmingham.
