About us

Crisis is the national charity for homeless people. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it.

We are now recruiting for a new role in the Resources Team within the Crisis at Christmas Team to support with coordinating the material donations needed to set up and run Crisis at Christmas centres and services. Every year, Crisis at Christmas opens its doors to people who need our support, offering warmth, accommodation, healthcare, food, and specialist advice. This Christmas we worked with over 6,600 people facing homelessness through our day centres and hotels in London, and Crisis Skylight centres across Britain.

Title: Project Coordinator – Resources

Hours:             35 hours per week. Core working hours are 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday,  but due to the nature of the project some weekend and evening work may be required.

About the role

As a Project Coordinator – Resources your role will involve building relationships with current and new corporate donors to ensure we can resource all the required material donations we need to run the Crisis at Christmas centres in London.  Gift in kind donations we require range from food and beverages to clothing, hairdressing equipment and minibuses. This is a varied role that involves researching donors, communicating with large corporate companies, managing volunteers, and running community donations.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have

• Experience of customer service and ability to deal with working with partner organisations and donors via phone and email in a professional and friendly manner.
• Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities 
• Excellent IT skills with experience of using Microsoft Office software, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the adaptability to modify plans in response to unexpected complications. 
• Good communicator who considers their audience and can work efficiently as part of a team. 
• Strong attention to detail and ability to process data accurately. 

You may have experience running events or working on busy projects or have experience in a busy customer service or fundraising environment. You should have an interest in the charity or homelessness sector and a commitment to Crisis’ purpose and values.

Katherine Low Settlement’s work with older people

Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. We provide, often in partnership, a range of projects and activities for older people including health and wellbeing; creative arts; intergenerational work; connecting people and trips/outings. Our services include an Older People's Lunch Club, Contact Club, T’ai Chi for Elders, exercise and social sessions, and support online.

We work with older people to:

• Encourage active and independent living

• Reduce isolation and loneliness

• Improve well-being and prevent ill-health

• Enable older residents to be dynamic and contributing members of the Wandsworth community.

Key Objectives for the Elders Core Service Manager Role:

1. Team Leadership: Lead a team of dedicated part-time paid staff and volunteers, including a cook, support worker, minibus driver, and sessional workers.
2. Day-to-Day Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Elders Core Service, including the lunch club, transport, social sessions, and overseeing the one-to-one work of the core team.
3. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the wider team to provide a hands-on program that builds on older people's strengths and potential.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation: Support the monitoring and evaluation of the project in collaboration with the Head of Programme.
5. Budget Management: Ensure the program operates within budget constraints.
6. Member Engagement: Support the planning of the core program with input from elder members and the wider team.
7. Recruitment and Support: Recruit and support new and existing members (service users).

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Delivery

• Planning and Oversight: Ensure that all service output aligns with KLS' vision, mission, values, and charitable objectives. Organize and promote one-off activities throughout the year.
• Transport Management: Manage the transport offer, including route planning and pick-up schedules.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate activity records, registers, and casework notes for the core team.
• Outreach and Support: Conduct outreach work with older people in the community, oversee home visits, and manage a small caseload.

2. Staff and Volunteer Management

• Recruitment and Line Management: Recruit and manage the Outreach and Support Workers, Lunch Club Cook, and relevant social activities workers and volunteers.
• Performance Management: Use performance management and quality systems to monitor and evaluate the project's work and processes.

3. Relationships, Communication, and Networks

• Member Engagement: Build and sustain strong relationships with elder members.
• Communication: Oversee communication for the Core Programme, including newsletters, activities calendar, annual reports, and social media platforms.
• Meetings: Attend meetings on behalf of the Core Programme as required.

4. Finance

• Budget Management: Manage project areas to budget and maintain financial records as agreed with the Head of Programme.

5. Other Duties

• Professional Development: Participate in regular management supervision and annual appraisal. Identify job-related development and training needs.
• Professional Conduct: Professionally undertake roles, maintaining a high-quality standard of work in line with KLS's aims, values, and ethos.

This post plays a significant role in the daily life of the Cathedral, and the post holder is responsible for ensuring all visitors have a positive experience, whether they are a sightseer, worshipper, event attendee or local resident.

Bladder Health UK (BHUK) is a small national charity that has developed significantly over the last 10 years. We are now looking for a part-time charity manager who can continue this journey. Just Like Us is the LGBT+ young people’s charity and works with thousands of schools and young people across the UK through its programmes. The Ambassador programme is a key part of our work at Just Like Us.

As an Area Branch Development Manager you will be accountable for the development, growth and local governance of branches within a designated area. We have an exciting opportunity to join our Sport Team. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our Opportunities Programme as Sports Manager. In this role, you will play a vital role in overseeing our in-house and community-based Sport Project. Your aim: To help make physical activity accessible to those experiencing homelessness.

About the role:

As the Sports Manager, you will be responsible for The Sport Project. You will be overseeing the day to day running of the project and management of the team including Sports Coordinators, freelancers, volunteers, and peers. You will be leading on expanding the reach of the project, forming partnerships with like-minded organisation and charities and advocating for the importance of physical activity within the homeless sector.

In your role, you will also manage relationships for grant givers and funders, including being responsible for budgets, reporting and reconciliations. Additionally you will support the team in the wider role out of the project across the homelessness community, at time this may involve helping to deliver a proportion of physical activity and helping to engage wider groups of participants and staff.

The approach taken with clients will be psychologically informed, incorporating an understanding of complex trauma and addiction. The outcomes for your role, include developing positive and sustained relationships with external partners and helping to make physical activity accessible.

• Experience managing staff or volunteers and freelancers.
• Experience and knowledge of managing projects or partnerships.
• Experience working with people from a variety of backgrounds and in different settings.

• Shared Learning – providing experiential learning and formal training opportunities that support personal wellbeing and skills development, primarily through our volunteer and placement student programmes.

We’re also trying to influence change in the local health and care system so that organisations and services become more human, adaptable and responsive to people’s lives. 

About the Community Hub 

The Likewise Community Hub offers a safe space for people to explore a range of wellbeing activities and events, whilst creating opportunity for connection, relationship, belonging and support. 

Our Community Hub and Garden is open to all with a particular focus on people who may feel lonely or socially isolated through mental ill health. It’s a place to access therapies, groups and activities supporting belonging and wellbeing. The hub is both a place to meaningfully contribute, and to feel supported, upholding the principle that we all have needs and we all have something to offer.

You’ll need to have some experience of, or feel very confident in: 

• Planning, delivering and co-ordinating community activities and events
• Supporting volunteers 
• Community engagement and co-production 
• Working in a people focused role
• Understanding and responding to the unique needs of people with mental health challenges

Key Areas of Responsibility and Focus: 

Coordination, Management, Planning 

Coordinating the curation, planning, scheduling and delivery of community projects, activities and events at the Likewise Wellbeing Hub and Garden

Coordinating the Likewise Creative Therapies service referrals and delivery

Making good use of our community facilities, garden and kitchen to support wellbeing in the community. 

Communication, Information and Relationship

Working with relationship building, conflict, rupture, and repair with, and between, community members 

Being a point of contact with community members and activity hosts

Coordinating placement student team to manage communication channels for the community, including social media, digital content and website updates

Working in collaboration and partnership with our Programme Lead, Learning Programme Coordinator and Office/Hub Administrator to realise the full potential of our Community Programme 

Community Engagement

Increasing access and engagement with the Hub from a diverse community through partnerships, informal and formal referral networks

Working with the Programme Lead to build engagement with the community programme through programming, marketing and communications

Developing and building on the participation, voice, and sense of ownership of community members in the Community Hub 

Learning, Monitoring, Evaluation

Ensuring accurate and useful data collection for the Community Programme

Implementing evaluation/learning tools and methods set up by Monitoring, Evaluation Learning Lead

Monitoring budget expenditure for Community activities, events and therapies

Community Hub Space

Working with Office/Hub Administrator to ensure the smooth running of community hub

Working with Office/Hub Administrator to ensure the hub is a welcoming, effective and well-functioning space for community members.

Supporting the function of front office and reception

Partnerships 

Maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including partner charities, volunteers, Camden Council and community members.

Managing partnerships to support and deliver community activities and events for wellbeing 

Supporting the co-production of activities and events with community members.
