The Volunteer, Engagement & Development Manager will sit within our leadership team structure and work proactively with colleagues across CABB, holding primary responsibility for the following key areas:

• Lead on the review, development and implementation of our volunteering programme, while ensuring the inclusion, engagement, diversity, impact and value of volunteers is recognised and celebrated.
• Provide line management to a small team of paid staff who work closely with and support our volunteers and engagement areas of the service.

Holder House is set in the leafy neighbourhood of Abingdon and provides care and support to 14 people from 18+ living with, and recovering from, enduring mental health issues. The Team Manager reports to and will be supported by the Registered Manager. 

As well as ensuring the quality of service and support provided to people who use our services, you will line manage front line staff and organise any building maintenance requirements. Whether you’re carrying out an induction, undertaking an investigation, putting team development plans in place or providing support to our business development team, one thing’s for sure – you won't be short of challenge and variety. We’re currently working towards being awarded ‘Outstanding’ at our next CQC inspection and you will play an integral part in helping us to achieve this.

Substantial experience gained managing a caseload of individuals with complex needs is a given, as well as being outcome driven and able to lead by example using your firm but inclusive management style. You’re open and encouraging too and have lots of tact and diplomacy. What's more, you're great at managing conflicting priorities on time, have a flexible attitude to working hours and are willing to participate in on call arrangements. And, if you have experience of carrying out investigations, writing reports/recommendations or managing budgets, even better, although it's not essential as we offer an extensive induction and training programme for managers.

The service operates two sleep-ins per night (paid at £70.47 per 9-hour sleep-in) and an on-call rota (paid at £18.00) to cover a sleep-in/day shift in the event of absence – applicants should be flexible and available to cover sleep-ins and fill in on the on-call rota where needed.

This is a permanent full time role requiring the post holder to work 37.5 hours per week.

Richmond Fellowship is part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence. From 1st June 2024 Richmond Fellowship will be merging with the mental health charity Humankind to form a single organisation that provides the joined-up mental health, housing and drug and alcohol support we’ve all known has been needed for decades. Swindon’s welcome, accessible space in the heart of the town is looking for two Hub Coordinators - to help us grow, build and do more: by and with the community. It's a great chance to get active and make a real difference in this diverse town.

You’ll be working with a dynamic group of volunteers and visitors, helping to keep the Hub running day-to-day, as well as taking on a special focus of your own.

One special focus will be reaching out and drawing in: connecting with communities, groups and people around Swindon who are not using the Hub; building relationships, working in partnership and organising events and activities to see that the Hub is as inclusive and diverse as it can be.

The other special focus will be learning, skills & growing: supporting volunteers and visitors to the Hub, developing programmes of activities and opportunities - both internal and working with external partners - to help people learn, develop and grow.

About the role

In this varied and rewarding role you will develop and coordinate our team of volunteers and Sessional Workers (zero hours youth workers).  You will be instrumental in defining our volunteer strategy moving forward and identify other participation opportunities such as work experience placements, university placements, internships and apprenticeships.

You will also help develop internal engagement activities and participate in external awareness raising and fundraising activities, to support both volunteering and fundraising.

This role is for 22 hours per week, which will ideally be worked over 4 days.   There is the option of hybrid working.   We provide a surrey wide service, so the successful applicant will be willing to travel across the county to meet volunteers and sessionals as  well as participate in engagement opportunities.

Hackney Foodbank is looking for a Volunteer Manager to join their team 2 days per week (14 hours).

Purpose and Key Responsibilities:

The Volunteer Manager role is responsible for recruiting, engaging and deploying volunteers into a wide variety of roles across the charity.

• Work with the Warehouse Manager and Food Distribution teams to support the recruitment journey and retention of volunteers. Encourage people to volunteer through a variety of marketing and promotion approaches, including social media and working with our Communications and Fundraising team to develop a strategy for volunteers. Develop, coordinate, and engage a network of around 150 active volunteers. Book and signpost volunteers to relevant and engaging volunteer training sessions. Work with the Warehouse Manager and Head of Food Distribution and Volunteering to resolve any volunteering related issues or complaints. Proactively liaise with the staff team to determine volunteer requirements, select volunteers for the right roles and match them to the right people, considering preferences and restrictions on both sides. Provide advice and guidance to volunteers about their matched relationship (with support from the wider team) and highlight safeguarding concerns as appropriate. Work effectively to ensure volunteers feel part of Hackney Foodbank. Support the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of our services.
• Gathering volunteer feedback and take appropriate steps for improvement.
• Manage the Assemble platform and implement the annual Peakon volunteer survey, and implement the recommendations resulting from the survey.
• Ensure the wellbeing of the volunteers, including good communication and arranging a minimum of two volunteer events a year.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

• A minimum of three years’ experience of coordinating, managing or supervising a team of volunteers, to deliver a range of service delivery tasks.

About the role

Crisis Skylight Oxford supports people experiencing homelessness. The service is based in the Old Fire Station alongside an Arts Centre open to the public. As the Reception Manager (Skylight Coordinator) you will ensure that the reception area runs efficiently and effectively and is a warm, supportive space to anyone needing our support. You will manage the reception team and volunteers, ensuring the provision of good advice, information, and guidance.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have experience of managing a busy reception where people have presented with a wide range of issues and challenges. You will have experience of working with disadvantaged or socially excluded groups or individuals, either as part of a paid role or in a voluntary capacity. This role includes line management responsibilities so you will need experience of managing staff and/or volunteers. You will have good admin skills, with strong oral skills including the ability to communicate key information clearly and precisely. This would be a great opportunity for someone who is already working within the sector or someone with voluntary experience who wants to use their Reception Manager experience to help end homelessness.

Roots to Wellbeing project aims:

• Provide a safe and inclusive space for participants to receive weekly support.
• Help participants to connect with nature and socialise with others to feel happier, less anxious and less isolated.
• Support participants to access other beneficial services, where appropriate, including health, social and financial.
• Support participants to move onto outdoor work or volunteering with friends of groups where appropriate.
• Facilitate a positive journey through the service for participants to ensure as many people as possible can access the service.

The role 

The roles has four main areas of work:

1. Leadership and management:

• Lead the Roots to Wellbeing team to reach its goals. 
• Line manage and support three Mental Health Officers, each delivering Roots to Wellbeing on one site.
• Work with local communities and other team members to explore new opportunities for the project and develop solutions.
• Work with CEO and Head of Fundraising to secure funding for project development.

2. Project management: 

• Oversee the delivery and development of the project to meet key KPIs.
• Collate qualitative and quantitative data and produce impact reports for funders. 
• Support team to ensure administrative records are kept up to date, including but not limited to: maintaining accurate participant records, work programme, incident reporting, risk management, external outreach, website.
• Develop a thorough communications strategy and build on current local referral relationships to further embed the programme within the VCSE & Health sector.
• Ensure service standard and quality is consistent across sites and policies and procedures are followed. 
• Recruit and induct volunteers to support session delivery.
• Work in partnership with stakeholders within and across the organisation to deliver project goals.
• Attend networking meetings and community events to raise awareness of the project and demonstrate its impact. 

3. Session delivery at Hartcliffe Millennium Green: 

• Continually build and maintain relationships with local referral partners to achieve a consistent referral rate into the project. 
• Deliver weekly Roots to Wellbeing sessions by; planning and facilitating delivery of sessions and activities in line with 5 pathways to nature connectedness and that are accessible to all participants, organising logistics of sessions such as travel, food and equipment, acting as safeguarding lead during sessions, liaising with co-facilitator, leading peer-support style check in at the beginning of the sessions and the grounding and meditation at the end.
• Lead on all direct communication with participants at Hartcliffe Millennium Green. Support them to create personalised development plans, signposting and referrals where needed. 

4. Other: 

• Support the work of the wider charity and specifically the South Bristol team as required. 
• Representing the charity externally through media work and presentation where necessary.

The Food bank Campaign Coordinator is responsible for delivering Trussell Trust’s influencing and mobilising work, in their target area, during the General Election. You will do this by building strong relationships with other food banks in your Parliamentary constituency areas of Rhondda and Ogmore, Bridgend and Vale of Glamorgan.  Campaign Coordinators implement Trussell Trust’s national General Election strategy, by using organising techniques to put pressure on PPC’s in each Parliamentary constituency.

You will build and lead local community teams who support ending the need for foodbanks, securing commitments from your PPC’s to ‘prioritise the problem of people going without essentials if re/elected, acknowledging the role social security needs to play in tackling it.’

This role is funded by the Trussell Trust as part of their General Election strategy, and you will be part of a network of Campaign Coordinators around the UK doing this work. You will be the link between your food bank(s) and the Mobilisation team at Trussell Trust, as we build a movement to end the need for food banks.

Responsibilities of Campaign Coordinator:

· To build trusted relationships with food banks during (pre and post) UK General Election. You will hold 1:1 conversations with each food bank in your allocated area and ensure there is clear communication between the food banks.
 

· To support teams of community volunteers. You will have 1:1s with: food bank staff, volunteers, interested individuals, partner organisations and stakeholders in each community to develop community bases for your campaign work.

· To lead effective door-knocking teams in your community.  You will door knock with your community campaign team to drum up support for the campaign, provide members of the public literature on Food bank use in their local community, and invite people to their local hustings.
 

· To help each of your community campaign teams organise a local husting.  You will ensure that your community campaign teams: attend national Trussell Trust webinars, receive national guidance on how to approach PPC’s, understand the Trussell Trust legal GE guidance, understand the logistics of organising a hustings, ensure that the husting is accessible as possible and ensure that the voices of people with lived experience are heard through the hustings.
 

· To develop good relationships with local press and media outlets. You will work alongside national Trussell Truststaff to find key press and media contacts in your assigned area, ensuring your community campaign teams get coverage for their hard work.
 

· To deliver the local campaigning strategy working with food bank staff, volunteers and clients. 
 

· To work with the Organising and Local Mobilisation team in Trussell Trust and engage with the training and support on offer, including work with other Campaign Coordinators in the Trussell Trust network.

Live out your Christian faith in a fun job, surrounded by excellent kind volunteers and straight talking adults with learning disabilities in a beautiful farm setting near Winchester.  If you love cooking, people and thinking on your feet, then this is the management job for you.  Boaz is a small independent charity that over 100 people a week call their "workplace".  Four days a week around 30 people come to the farm to "work and learn together" doing a whole range of horticulture and other jobs such as cooking, craft, animal care and woodwork.  As Deputy Manager you will help keep the fun levels high, the stress levels low, and people working harmoniously together.  Four days each week you'll lead on cooking a simple vegetarian meal for everyone on site, plus be involved in the general day to day management of the charity.  But don't take my word for it, swing by for a coffee and a walk around to get a feel for things BEFORE you apply.  Based in a converted cow barn this is a MARMITE job, and we all know that people either love or don't love that spread.

It's a small team, only two other full time staff members working alongside you, but over 50 volunteers coming and going each week and over 30 adults with learning disabilities who spend half days or several days a week working at the project.  Each day starts with some "listening and prayer time" where people are encouraged to share and receive prayer if they request it.  Then some scripture is shared followed by remembering everything people are grateful for.  As Deputy Manager you would lead these sessions when the General Manager is on leave or be on a rota system.

The role is based on-site, Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 4:30.

You get 20 days holiday a year plus Public Holidays to start with, plus additional days for long service.

Pay will be in the range of £28 to £30,000 p/a depending on experience.

The British Dyslexia Association (BDA) is a charity that represents the voice of people living with dyslexia. We aim to influence government and other institutions to promote a dyslexia friendly society that enables dyslexic people of all ages to reach their full potential.

This is an exciting new role for the BDA, which has been created with the purpose of recruiting, managing and supporting regional volunteers, leading specific outreach to groups impacted and disadvantaged by dyslexia and resulting life circumstances. This is a varied hands-on role that would suit a skilled volunteering professional, who will use their knowledge of volunteering best practice and experience to help us create the future for outreach volunteering at the BDA.

Location

Home-based (UK), with travel to the BDA office in Bracknell (Berkshire) and around the UK as and when necessary. Additionally, travel to team days approximately 1-2 times a year is required.

Duties and Responsibilities (to include, but not limited to):

 ·Recruiting, training and supporting regional volunteers and working with a national voluntary panel.

· Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of volunteers.

· Provide supervision and guidance to volunteers to ensure a positive volunteer experience.

· Coordinate volunteer training and onboarding processes.

· Maintain accurate volunteer records, including role, contract information and achievements.

· Monitor and evaluate the provision of outreach services to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

· Leading specific outreach to groups impacted and disadvantaged by dyslexia and resulting life circumstances.

· Promoting hubs, working closely with Marketing and Communications colleagues and creating referral routes to hub services.

· Coordinating with organisations and stakeholders at a national and local level, for joint working and support of the hubs.

· Creating resources and tools for hub volunteers to run services and for new hubs to establish in a consistent way.

· Evaluating services run by Local Hubs and contributing to knowledge and research on needs, provision and outcomes for people with dyslexia.

· Bringing together the network of Local Hubs, Local Dyslexia Associations and other member organisations - enabling them to share good practice, access training and peer support between volunteers. 

· Create and maintain an internal engagement plan that supports the BDA to increase impact and reach through our work with communities, including best practice guidance and tools.

· Experience of engaging and including diverse groups, ‘hard to reach’ and vulnerable beneficiaries. 

· Demonstrable experience of volunteer management, including the recruiting, managing, supporting, training and retention of volunteers.

· Able to develop links and relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

· Project management skills, including development of regional services. 

· Strong relationship management skills with the ability to influence.

· Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies to support the goals of our mental health charity. Key Responsibilities:

• Promote awareness of our objectives and our work to relieve suffering and distress
• Research and identify potential funding sources and grant opportunities
• Prepare grant proposals and manage grant reporting requirements
• Develop and implement fundraising strategies to meet or exceed fundraising targets
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and supporters
• Recruit and lead a team of fundraising volunteers
• Plan and execute fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives
• Collaborate with colleagues e.g. Comms Assistant to create fundraising initiatives
• Provide excellent customer service to donors, sponsors, and supporters
• Monitor and analyse fundraising data to assess performance

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in communications, business, public relations, or related field
• Certification, diploma, or similar qualification in fundraising
• Proven experience in fundraising (minimum of three-years), preferably within the mental health charity sector
• Strong knowledge of fundraising principles, techniques, and best practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including having confidence in public speaking, and paying good attention to detail
• Ability to lead and motivate volunteers
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
• Strong organisational and project management skills

About Community Counselling:

The charity was established in 2013.  It provides free therapeutic interventions such as counselling, play and creative art therapy, and EMDR (trauma) treatment to vulnerable people living in North Yorkshire, including children who have been the victim of crime. The clinical team consists of over 30 part-time practitioners, being a mixture of staff, volunteers (including trainees) and sessional workers.  Last year we helped over 800 people with a wide range of mental health issues.
