About the Department/Role

The Racial Justice Unit reflects the Church's renewed commitment to justice as part of the wider theological imperatives to see Christ in the other, to be united in Him and to love our neighbours. The primary role of the RJU is to lead on the coordination of racial justice initiatives which involves the implementation of(FLTA), supporting key stakeholders including the senior leadership, dioceses, NCIs, TEIs, and other related institutions, coordinating and supporting the governance mechanisms, and managing the related Triennium Fund.  

This is a six-month interim role to provide operational leadership to support the delivery of the Unit's priorities which could be a suitable secondment opportunity.

What you'll be doing

The Racial Justice Unit is seeking a skilled Grants Manager, to lead the delivery of its funding programme. This role is central to managing grant operations, assessing applications, supporting grantees, and evaluating impact.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage grant pipeline, awards, and live caseloads
• Lead financial tracking and reporting
• Support impact evaluation and learning
• Line manage the RJU Grants Assistant
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and PMO teams
• Assist with transition to new grant management system

To be successful, you will need to have:

• Strong grant management and financial oversight
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and highly organised
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
• Experience in impact evaluation and reporting

About the role

We are seeking a Dual Diagnosis Worker who has a specialism in complex mental health and substance misuse to join our team in Croydon. This is a residential service which provides specialist mental health, complex needs, and dual diagnosis support to our residents. You will utilise your previous experience and knowledge, and provide specialist support to those who have been diagnosed with mental ill health and have challenges with substance use. You will deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills.

Within this role, you will act as a specialist for comorbidity, supporting the team to achieve positive outcomes for our residents. Some of the duties may include:

• Undertake joint holistic assessments, risk assessments, care plans, and interventions to support harm reduction and minimisation.
• Set up realistic and flexible strengths-based support plans, working closely with colleagues and support teams to support and advise on interventions and approaches to meet individual needs.
• Help reduce episodes of crisis and assist residents/participants to access services which can offer alternatives to crisis support.
• Work closely with support staff and clinical teams to support and advise them on interventions and approaches to meet resident/participant comorbid, complex mental health and substance misuse needs.
• Support multi-disciplinary teams and the wider community teams with support, advice, signposting, and move on care planning. 

About you

We’re looking for someone who has specialist knowledge on how to support individuals with comorbid and complex needs, with previous experience in a similar role. We look at individual characteristics to be able to show resilience, solve challenges, and be proactive in your approach. You will have a passion for supporting people to achieve their personal goals, and achieve positive outcomes, this includes having the ability to engage with people who may be hard to reach and engage with. We further are looking for someone who has:

• An appropriate qualification which is relevant to the role which could include: National Diploma, Bachelors, or master’s in psychology, Dual Diagnosis, Substance Misuse or any relevant
• Previous experience in a similar role, providing holistic assessments and support for people experiencing mental health challenges
• Applied knowledge of the principles of risk assessment and risk management, particularly in relation to harm minimisation.
• A commitment to promoting recovery, harm reduction, and active involvement in care planning.
• Ability to apply relapse prevention models to promote sustained recovery and harm reduction.

We have an exciting opportunity to join MASH’s staff team. We are looking for a Homeless Outreach Worker to join the team at MASH and provide support to women in Manchester. This role is part time at 21 hours per week and will include two night-time outreach shifts per week driving the MASH van.

MASH is the only organisation in Greater Manchester which exists specifically to support women who sex work. Through our range of services we build trusted relationships with women to keep them safer, healthier and more equipped to take control of their lives.

Purpose of the role

To work with other members of the MASH team to achieve the following outcomes for women who sex work:

Using a gender and trauma-informed approach, the Homeless Outreach Worker will deliver two sessions of street outreach each week. This will involve driving and taking the MASH mobile vehicle into areas of Manchester where women are engaged in sex work on the street. The role involves delivering a harm reduction approach to offer a quality service to women to improve health, housing and safety outcomes. This will be delivered with a respectful and non-judgemental approach assisting women to reduce harmful behaviours and improving access to a range of services to improve their outcomes.

We are seeking a part-time Trusts and Grants Fundraiser to help raise funds for these vital projects by researching and writing applications and reports to charitable trusts and foundations, and by supporting grant applications to public funders. We are excited to bring this role in-house, having recently worked with a consultant trusts fundraiser. We currently raise £250,000 pa from trusts and foundations, and enjoy established relationships, including with multi-year funders.

You will join a supportive, dedicated staff team, which includes an Individual Giving Manager and an Individual Giving Officer, and will work closely with both the General Manager and the Director of Education & Participation. A vital part of this work is our advice services – providing free and accessible debt, benefits, housing and immigration advice to local people. This work has grown over the last few years and we are now looking for an experienced and innovative advice worker, to lead a small team and ensure we are delivering excellent advice, in a holistic community setting.

In this role, you would be working with local community members, to improve their circumstances through the provision of high-quality advice, as well as supporting development and ensuring best practice across the service.  This role is based in our community space at the Oasis Centre and will include supporting with community drop-ins and walk-ins, as well as 1-2-1 appointments, and service development and management.

Key responsibilities. 

· Managing your own caseload of clients, collaborating closely with other team members and volunteers

· Developing innovative solutions to develop and streamline our work, ensuring impact and maximising capacity

· Ensuring compliance and quality control across our casework provision, including obtaining quality standards, creating client feedback mechanisms, and ensuring policy compliance

· Line managing a team delivering client casework

The successful post holder must have:

· Experience providing face-to-face advice

· A willingness to work with people who have multiple and complex needs

· A recognised advice qualification or equivalent experience

· Line management experience

· Attention to detail and up-to-date knowledge of advice practice and policy

We have a great job opening in our Grants team at ClientEarth! As Grants Officer you will work in our Grants Team to manage a portfolio of grants that fund our organisation’s work.

ClientEarth’s Development Department is responsible for raising and managing funds to enable the organisation to deliver its mission using the power of the law to bring about systemic change that protects the earth for, and with its inhabitants. The department is formed of several fundraising strands: a Grants Team and a Business Development Team that manage and secure funding from trusts, foundations, and institutional donors; and a Philanthropy Team, working with a wide range of individuals and organisations to raise primarily unrestricted gifts to support ClientEarth’s work. 

Meet your Manager

In this role, you will be managed by Lydia Baker. Lydia joined ClientEarth in August 2024 and in her role as a Grants Manager is responsible for managing relationships with key funders. Lydia has worked in the NGO sector for over eight years and has expertise in a variety of functions including grant management, programme management, communications and monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning.  On a day-to-day basis you will work closely with Lydia as part of an established Grants Team that sits within the Development Department at ClientEarth.

Main Duties

• Funding portfolio management - Have a close and in-depth knowledge of their grants portfolio, including a sound understanding of the philanthropic, institutional and statutory funding mix;
• Internal and external communications - Meet with Trust, Foundation and Institution portfolio managers to discuss proposals, provide updates on the programmatic work, and to formally report back on financial, organisational and technical issues; 
• Project management - Effectively manage reporting and the grant renewal process from start to completion including working with multiple teams across ClientEarth’s European and international offices to ensure input from all avenues to complete proposals and reports in a timely and high-quality manner; and 
• Financial planning and budget handling - Work with Finance and Programmes staff to develop individual budgets for funding proposals
• Systems and processes - Maintain funder database systems (Raiser’s Edge) and other organisational databases (SharePoint) on a daily basis
