Day Care Officer – Day Care Centres
Age UK Camden Day Care Centres are looking to recruit a Day Care Officer to cover 20 hours a week in shifts (4 x 5 hours) across our two Day Care Centres.
There is a need to be flexible to be able to cover all days Monday to Friday and days are subject to change based on the rota.
We are also looking to recruit a Day Care Officer on a 25 hour week for maternity cover on a fixed term contract starting on the 1st September 2025 for 39 weeks.
Our Centres provide a wide range of activities as well as being a specialist Day Care Centres caring for older people with complex needs. The Day Care Centres also provide a hot lunch and a range of special events. We have a dedicated, specialist team supporting people with care needs, including those living with mild - moderate dementia and complex needs.
The successful candidates will:

Have shared responsibility in the team for the implementation of a comprehensive service of care and support for service users

Act as a key worker for individual clients

Deliver holistic and person centred wellbeing services which provide service users with social interaction and support to maintain their personal interests.
Salary: Starting at SCP 4 £25,209.19 pa incl. London Weighting for 35 hpw - pro rata for part time which is £14,405.25 for 20 hours per week and £18,006.56 pa for a 25 hour week)
(Staff work across both centres so need to be able to travel to Kings Cross and Hampstead. Shifts range in times across the day and you must be able to work all the various shifts)

The post holder will be fully involved in all aspects of the day to day management of their designated service, including line managing the relevant front line staff.
You will lead in carrying out supervisions, case work management and working with the team to achieve service objectives.
You will work closely with the Contract Manager to ensure that the service delivers on all targets, both financial and those around the quality of the service.
9 - 5pm working Monday & Friday. Occasional asked to work weekend to ensure service needs are supported.
What you'll do:
- Lead and motivate your team to ensure the championing of and maintenance of a positive local culture within your service
- Deliver effective supervision and team meetings with staff and ensure that information, reporting and communication
- Responsible for the personal development of staff, identifying high performers and feeding into the organisations succession plans
- Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) required as part of the Contract are met and recorded correctly
- Develop key business relationships with all appropriate relevant customers/external parties to ensure service delivery excellence and maximise new business opportunities in own patch
- Participate in and monitor the initial and continuous assessment of needs and ensure that support planning is carried out in line with assessed needs of the customer
- Carry out other administrative tasks as relevant to the service and directed by the Contract/Heads of Operations
- Deliver an out of hours on-call service for region, where required
- Ensure that all safeguarding cases are managed in line with safeguarding protocols and are reported to Contract Manager/Head of service , as appropriate

About this key role
Our successful candidate will provide line management support, guidance and coaching to two administrators, ensuring their responsibilities are clear and that they are supported to carry out their roles, plus provide positive and proactive peer support to Admin and Coaches to ensure that data is collected reliably and consistently. You will also manage the allocation and appropriateness of all referrals coming into the Eastern region CRS service and ensure all referrals are accurately recorded, plus coordinate the data collection across the Eastern Region Criminal Justice contracts.
We will also rely on you to monitor the service and support with the development, implementation, and the maintenance of effective data collection systems, as well as offering training where necessary to ensure the team can perform data collection effectively. Interpreting and explaining complex data to the admin and delivery team for purposes of clarity/verification is also an important duty, as is supporting with the development and maintenance of processes around referrals, data collation and the production of reports.

The Senior Finance Officer (Purchase Ledger) maternity cover role will play a key part in the delivery of an efficient and effective payables service to the business and it's customers by ensuring invoices, expenses and regular payments are paid and accounted for correctly and promptly and in line with the purchase order process, policy and internal procedures.
This is a Fixed term contract for 12 months. This role is a Hybrid role and you will be required to be at the office 2 days a week.
What you'll do:
* Process Purchase orders and invoices onto the system, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and authorised as per policy and in line with purchase order procedures
* Process petty cash reimbursements in a timely manner
* Monitor the Purchase ledger mailbox, ensuring that queries and arising actions are dealt with, and invoices are registered on the system in a timely manner
* Act as Finance first point of contact on purchase order queries
* Prepare upload files for the weekly BACS payments as required
* Prepare ad-hoc manual payments as required
* Set up new supplier and system user accounts onto the purchase ledger system
* Process Purchasing card and Cash card applications
* Ensure the regular reconciliation of supplier statements

Glasgow’s Helping Heroes (GHH) is based in the Pearce Institute in Glasgow, and operates as a partnership between SSAFA and Glasgow City Council to be a trusted source of support for serving personnel, veterans and their families in their time of need.
About the role
The Peer Support Workers at GHH manage their own caseload and provide advice and advocacy across a range of areas including financial assistance, grant applications via our dedicated system, welfare benefits navigation, priority debt management, mental health pathway navigation, housing, and homelessness. The Peer Support Workers are the main point of contact for those seeking support to reduce homelessness and work closely with our Homeless & Housing team to help beneficiaries maintain their tenancies through proactive support and additionally collaborate with our in-house Citizens Advice Scotland service.
No two days are the same at GHH, which currently runs three beneficiary-focused projects: Glasgow’s Veterans United, a football and wellbeing initiative; MIRRORS, a project for those potentially at risk of dementia which includes various activities across Glasgow and a 10-week language course; There will also be opportunities to co-produce and develop future initiatives for the Armed Forces community.
About the team
GHH provides a single point of contact through a gateway model, enhancing local access to a wide range of services. These include support with financial matters, housing and homelessness, employability, and more. The team currently operates from their office in Govan, with the flexibility to work remotely one day per week. Outreach work is also carried out across the city to ensure wider community engagement.
The GHH team works closely with a broad network of internal and external partners, including local SSAFA branches and the Scottish Support Office, Citizens Advice Scotland, Veterans Housing Scotland, Erskine Veterans Village, Scottish Veterans Residences, and Defence Medical Welfare Services.
About you

As an Income and Housing Officer you will help to maximise the organisation's rental income collection,n effectively manage rent arrears and deal with other breaches of the occupancy agreement.
What you'll do:
* Take responsibility for maximising rent collection across a defined patch of Look Ahead's portfolio of properties ensuring that rent collection targets are met and tenancies sustained
* Advise operational teams on their support related arrears management activities, including holding local surgeries with tenants and staff, taking direct control of higher level and more complex arrears cases

About you:
? An understanding of the needs of customers who have experienced homelessness and who may also have support needs.
? Excellent time management skills to systematically monitor arrears and complete other tasks in a logical and systematic way.
? Excellent communication skills and experience of dealing with vulnerable people in a sensitive , friendly and clear manner.
? An understanding of how to effectively deal with breaches of occupancy such as anti-social behaviour and abandonment. .
? The ability to communicate clearly with non -housing management staff and explain cases in a non technical way.

Job Summary
We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking finance leader to play a central role in shaping the future of the finance team at St John Ambulance. Reporting to the Finance Director (who reports directly to the CEO), this is a high-impact position at the heart of our finance transformation journey—ideal for a self-motivated, qualified accountant who thrives on change and making an impact.
As a senior leader within the organisation, you’ll be instrumental in driving the evolution of our finance function, leading and developing a large, multi-disciplinary team. You'll bring deep expertise across a broad range of finance disciplines and be excited by the opportunity to embed best practices, streamline processes, and strengthen financial governance.
This is more than a technical role—it's a strategic leadership opportunity. You'll collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organisation and externally, using your communication and influencing skills to shape decision-making and support our charitable mission.
You’ll oversee the delivery of timely, accurate management accounts and play a key role in providing high-quality financial reporting to our Trustees and Finance Committee. You'll also take the lead on our statutory audited accounts, acting as the principal contact for both internal and external auditors.
With additional responsibility for cashflow forecasting, treasury management, tax compliance, VAT, and gift aid, this role ensures St John maintains robust financial governance. While charity sector experience is an advantage, it's your passion for making a difference and your leadership in finance that will set you apart.
About You
- Educated to degree level with a full professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Significant post-qualification experience (PQE) in senior financial accounting roles, with strong technical expertise.
- Proven track record in producing annual statutory accounts and successfully managing external audit processes.
- Extensive experience leading and developing large finance teams within complex organisations, driving performance and accountability.
- Skilled in preparing management accounts, income and expenditure reports, and cash flow forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
- Demonstrated success in finance team transformation, implementing process improvements, and enhancing financial controls.
- Experienced in stakeholder engagement at all levels, including Board reporting, and providing expert technical accounting advice to support change and excellence.
About the Role
- Lead statutory and management reporting: Oversee the production of audited statutory financial statements and timely completion of the external audit. Ensure best practice in external financial reporting and take full responsibility for the accuracy and delivery of monthly management accounts.
- Own cash flow and balance sheet management: Lead the preparation of the charity’s monthly rolling cash flow forecast and ensure full ownership of the balance sheet, including timely and accurate reconciliations.
- Strengthen financial controls and working capital: Ensure effective financial processes and controls within transactional teams to manage working capital and drive continuous improvement in financial operations.
- Oversee compliance and tax: Identify, manage and control financial risks, including tax compliance. Provide expert technical accounting advice and ensure the charity remains fully compliant in all taxation matters, including VAT and gift aid.
- Drive counter fraud and governance improvements: Act as the financial lead for the charity’s control environment and counter fraud framework. Champion improvements in fraud awareness, culture, and control.
- Manage key external relationships: Serve as the main contact for the charity’s bankers and investment managers, and act as secretary to the Finance Committee and Investment Advisory Group.
- Optimise treasury and investment performance: Lead treasury activities to maximise returns on working capital and investments, ensuring alignment with the charity’s strategic objectives.
- Develop team and performance culture: Foster a high-performing finance team through regular 1-1s, development reviews, and team meetings. Embed a strong performance management culture in line with St John Ambulance policies.
