Ivy Rock Partners is partnering with CIWEM to recruit a new permanent Director of Finance & Commercial Services. Reporting into the Chief Executive, and overseeing key directorates of finance, governance, facilities and IT, this is a critical role for the organisation and a key member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Key duties will be as follows:

• Lead the finance department, ensuring the smooth running of in-year operational finance milestones and leading on financial strategy for the organisation
• Manage the annual budgeting process and in-year review of budgets and forecasts
  Manage the year-end audit process including managing the relationship with external auditors
• Manage non-finance directorates including governance, facilities and outsourced IT providers
• Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO, Board of Directors and wider SLT members
• Lead in the professionalisation of services and processes, including automation of processes and systems
• Review governance policies and ensure that effective internal financial controls are in place
• Staff management of three direct reports and a wider team of finance and non-finance professionals

About You

• You will be CCAB qualified or equivalent
• Have operated at Director level in previous organisations leading financial operations and strategy
• Exposure to or understanding of working in an SME organisation with the ability to be ‘hands on’ where needed
• Previous experience in the charities, not-for-profit or similar sector is highly desirable.

About the role

In this role, you’ll be one of the first points of contact for our incredible supporters who are ‘doing their own’ fundraising and you’ll also play an important role in the day to day running of the mass ‘DIY fundraising’ programme.

This will include responding to supporter enquiries, sending out fundraising materials, and managing our community fundraising Facebook group.

Providing operational support to the wider team is a key part of this role. This will include processing invoices, working with external suppliers to replenish and manage stock levels, and accurately delivering processes such as coding income and thanking supporters.

You’ll be joining a passionate and supportive team who are based across the UK. There will be lots of opportunities to develop skills and knowledge through working with others and accessing our organisation’s learning and development programme, as well as being encouraged to attend sector webinars.

Responsibilities include conducting needs and risk assessments, creating and reviewing SMART support plans, reducing unplanned hospital admissions, and encouraging engagement with networks and informal support systems.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will support adults experiencing loneliness, isolation, and mental health challenges and providing pathways, support, and appropriate interventions that will enable successful resettlements, and deliver to achieve safer, integrated communities for our stakeholders. Marron House has 18 bed spaces and we provide personalised support around daily living skills such as budgeting, shopping, cooking, reminders to take medication and developing a structured weekly routine.

As a Recovery Worker, you will identify individual resident needs, and provide person centred, tailored support to residents to help them overcome their personal challenges and achieve their goals. You will do this through a combination of producing tailored support plans, activities, and partnership working. You will support us continue to work in a trauma informed way, and create a psychologically informed environment, which supports us in creating a safe, respectful, and responsive environment which puts our people and communities at the forefront. Key Responsibilities

Strategic Implementation (Online & Offline)

• Key operational lead, deputising for the Head of Individual Giving and Legacies, taking responsibility for the planning and delivery of campaigns and activity across channels and supporter journeys.

• Develop and implement activity to attract new supporters through an integrated mix of channels, including social platforms (paid and unpaid), search engine advertising, email marketing, and offline appeals.

• Manage relationships with external partners, including creative, fundraising, and digital marketing agencies, ensuring high-quality delivery and ROI.

• Develop and execute integrated campaigns where ultimate conversion may occur via traditional channels such as telephone or mail, taking a holistic approach to acquire and convert new supporters.

• Analyse metrics and data, reporting on KPIs, budget, and spend. Work to constantly test and optimise campaigns to exceed targets and improve return on investment.

• Support forecasting and budget planning on marketing activities within the IG budget.

• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies, ensuring our fundraising efforts remain innovative and effective.

Stewardship, Content & Operations

• Develop and deliver personalised relationship-building communications and initiatives that recognise supporter loyalty and deepen their connection to the impact of their support.

• Oversee the operational delivery of supporter communications, including the development of processes for bespoke and workflow-delivered thanking and nurturing.

• Create and optimise content, sometimes cross team and directly with our incredible patients and supporters.

• Build journeys that maximise conversions and build loyalty. This includes high-quality creative fundraising writing, concepting, and messaging development.

• Ensure all supporters are thanked and updated in an appropriate and timely manner, working with the team to ensure coverage and that all interactions are in line with our supporter promise.

• Cultivate deeper engagement with supporters beyond transactional interactions, explore opportunities for meaningful dialogue and a sense of community. 

Collaboration & Cross-Selling

• Work with the wider PCR team to maximise opportunities for fundraising and patient impact, specifically leading on cross-selling meaningful cash and support propositions to other audiences (e.g., events participants, community fundraisers, and campaigners).

• Work with Agile principles in mind, collaborating with colleagues across the organisation to plan and deliver high-quality work.

• Build key relationships across teams within and outside Public Fundraising to achieve successful fundraising outcomes.

• As required, represent PCR externally, promoting our work and building long-term relationships with stakeholders. 

Database and Compliance

• Develop your existing experience and affinity for supporter data to improve outcomes for supporters.

• Hold a very good working knowledge of key aspects of data protection law including GDPR and PECR, as well as the Fundraising Code of Practice.

• Work with our tools and seek to improve knowledge and use of these, including Access CRM, Fundraise Up, Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Wordpress and MailChimp.

Skills and Competencies

Our ideal candidate would have the following:

• Fundraising Expertise: Proven experience in an Individual Giving role(s) with a track record of managing both digital acquisition and offline appeals (direct mail/telemarketing) for a charity or social cause, as well as significant experience in retention, marketing communications, supporter services.

• Agency Management: Experience managing creative, fundraising and digital marketing agencies, to deliver a variety of campaigns or activities across multiple channels.

• Digital Proficiency: Demonstrable expertise setting up and managing campaigns in Meta Business Suite, Google paid advertising, and email marketing platforms like Mailchimp.

• Strategic Thinking: Evidence of leading successful integrated campaigns resulting in significant income or lead generation.

• Audience development: Led development of successful new propositions for cross-selling across existing audiences.

• Creative Skills: The ability to motivate and inspire audiences through content and creative writing and storytelling for various channels.

• Financial Acumen: The ability to monitor and manage income and expenditure against targets as well as forecast and report on campaigns across all channels.

• Supporter Experience: A strong desire to provide excellent supporter experience and customer journeys to everyone who encounters PCR.

• Collaborative Mindset: A collaborative and innovative mindset with a desire to test, learn, and work with stakeholders cross-functionally.

• Agile Working: Experience working within Agile project management frameworks would be beneficial.

• Technical Knowledge: Good knowledge of WordPress website optimisation and plugins, or a strong desire to learn.

• Passion: A strong belief in the work we do at PCR, and a demonstrable desire to improve outcomes for patients through our work in fundraising.

We’re seeking a Communications Officer (Brand and Content) to join our fantastic Brand and Content team within the award-winning Engagement, Marketing and Communications department.

You’ll have an opportunity to play an active supporting role in the core team leading on the implementation and growth of our bold and impactful brand, launched less than two years ago. 

You’ll also support the team with day-to-day brand management to ensure consistency of messaging and visual representation across all our content and the production of creative multi-purpose and multi-channel, audience-led content. In addition, you will support the project management, delivery, and evaluation of organisation-wide activity for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month (PCAM).

We are recruiting a Young Adult Carers (YAC) Support Worker to join the East London YACs Project, delivered in partnership between Carers Centre Tower Hamlets and City & Hackney Carers Centre. 

About Us 

Carers Centre Tower Hamlets has supported unpaid carers for over 25 years, providing advice, advocacy, wellbeing activities and hospital-based support to carers of all ages. We are rooted in our community and committed to tackling inequality, reducing poverty and improving carers’ life chances. 

City & Hackney Carers Centre has been supporting carers in Hackney and the City of London since 1996. They provide information, peer support, emotional wellbeing services and specialist programmes for carers across the life course. Together, our organisations bring deep local knowledge, strong partnerships and a shared commitment to co-production. 

Through this joint project, we are building a cross-borough service that reduces isolation, improves wellbeing and creates real opportunities for young adult carers aged 16–25. 

About the Role 

Young adult carers often balance education, employment and relationships alongside caring for someone they love. Many experience isolation, stress and limited opportunities. 

This role is about creating safe spaces, building peer networks and supporting young people to shape their futures. 

You will: 

• Provide one-to-one support to young adult carers across Tower Hamlets and Hackney 

• Co-facilitate weekly peer support groups 

• Deliver outreach in colleges, community settings and partner services 

• Organise respite activities, workshops and trips 

• Support young people to access education, employment and wellbeing services 

• Contribute to a co-produced programme designed with young adult carers 

You will help deliver clear project outcomes, including supporting at least 120 young adult carers per year and enabling 80% to report improved wellbeing and reduced isolation. 

About You
