The Quality and Progression Lead will play a vital role in maintaining and developing the excellent standards of teaching, learning and assessment at High Trees. We engage around 700 learners a year in the Education and Training team, working with adults with diverse needs who are returning to learning to upskill for employment, wellbeing or confidence.

In this role you will lead a team of tutors who work in the community, teaching a range of subjects including ESOL, Functional Skills, employability and wellbeing. You will need to be approachable and committed to supporting the tutors to deliver excellent standards of teaching and learning that result in strong achievement and progression for learners. You will deliver engaging training for the tutors to help them deliver the best standards of teaching and promote and grow their strengths as a diverse team. ABOUT THIS ROLE

In the past five years of running our Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program, we have found that the best predictor of which incubated charities will end up causing the highest impact is the quality of the co-founding team. As we scale up, one of our biggest bottlenecks is identifying highly talented, value-aligned people out of the thousands of candidates from all over the world who apply to our programs. The difference in outcomes between a bad and a good hire can be huge, but this variation is even more extreme when it comes to co-founders. The initial staff of an organization set the pace, tone, and culture for the long-term. We estimate the impact of each average alumna/alumnus of our Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program to be equivalent to donating $200,000-350,000 USD / year to effective charities. Finding 20-30 of these gems each year is difficult but is incredibly impactful. As such, the Recruitment role is one of the most important roles we are hiring for. 

The Recruitment Manager (or Director’s) role is flexible, as reflected in this job description. It is likely to be either 100% on vetting applicants to our programs, 50% on vetting and 50% on outreach and marketing for new applicants, or 50% on vetting and 50% on team management. The level of seniority will depend on the successful candidate’s skills, fit, and interests. The Director would be responsible for managing team members and setting strategy for the department. The manager-level role would be focused more on the implementation and systems improvement of our recruitment process. 

The Recruitment Manager (or Director) will focus on:

• Vetting multi-stage application processes (application forms, test tasks, interviews and psychometrics)

• Improving and adjusting our processes (e.g. coming up with predictive interview questions for new job roles; improving existing questions and tasks on the basis of data collected)

• Developing and formalizing a deep understanding of what traits, motivations, and personality types will be successful in different kinds of career paths and roles

• (if interested and a strong fit) Working with our outreach team to develop and execute marketing strategies that speak to the right people, inform them about our supported career paths, and help them apply

The kinds of tasks involved in this look something like this:

• Evaluating hundreds of application forms and test tasks to figure out which are the most promising, using a wide range of information, formal and informal clues, and heuristics

• Evaluating and conducting candidate interviews to help identify and select the most promising candidates to join our programs

• Formalizing informal hiring heuristics into rubrics and learning algorithms (no programming required)

• Project managing each application round to ensure each candidate gets useful, timely, and relevant test tasks and information on next steps

• Analyzing historical data to pull out findings for future rounds (here’s an older public example)

• Conducting interviews with successful applicants to create feedback loops for improving our processes

• Automating aspects of the process to increase scalability and reduce staff time

• Conducting interviews with experts in vetting and hiring to determine cross-applicable lessons that we can apply

• Building models and character profiles of ideal candidates and talking to alumni from our programs to refine and improve these

• Running analysis and back correlations on historically successful founders to identify traits that may define the most promising applicants

What We Need

We have been at the forefront of adoption services for over 60 years, working with local authorities across the country.  With our outstanding rating with Ofsted, we work with a high degree of flexibility and innovation and with a range of adopters from all backgrounds and provide a range of Adoption Support services to families to support them on their adoption journey. 

We are delighted to have secured funding to set up and establish a robust impact and data collection process and database so that clear outcomes can be measured and collected for the different areas within our adoption support services. This is a new role and the postholder will play a key part in delivering on this work.

Working alongside Adoption Support colleagues, the Database Officer will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the database, ensuring data is kept up to date as well as inputting, monitoring and evaluating data and service user details.  They will also contribute to the collection of feedback and case studies from service users.

The Database Officer will produce comprehensive and tailored reports using both qualitative and quantitative data, derived from the new monitoring and evaluation system.  These evidence-based reports are produced for a variety of audiences and will contribute to evidencing the effectiveness of PACT’s adoption support services.

We are looking for someone with previous experience in an administrative support role, with database and/or data capture administration experience.  To succeed in this role, you will be proficient in producing reports from a database with a keen eye for accuracy and detail and have strong data analysis skills with an ability to derive meaningful insights.

Role Summary

To support the development and delivery of community investment projects that deliver successful, measurable outcomes for TCH residents and communities, often working in conjunction with other TCH teams and external partners to achieve those outcomes.

The projects will focus on our key Community Investment Strategy themes; currently: tackling poverty and inequality; embedding well-being; customer co-creation and sharing power; community activities and programmes.

The role links with others across the organisation including our internal Customer Insight and Resident Engagement teams to understand our communities and supports our wider housing teams to deliver initiatives for the benefit of our residents.

The office base would depend on applicant. The successful applicant would need to travel between the different offices when required.

Role Specific Responsibilities

• Support the development and delivery of existing and new projects, initiatives and services that meet the aims of the Community Investment Strategy.
• Ensure these projects are outcome focused, that programmes/services are responsive to residents’ needs and reflect best practice and corporate priorities and meet regulatory expectations.
• To co-ordinate Community Investment projects and activities working in conjunction with residents, the wider organisation, contractors, and community partners.
• Support the effective monitoring and evaluation of community investment projects, ensuring that monitoring returns are received in agreed timescales and are accurate and outcome focused. Produce relevant performance reports and data as required.
• To provide support for the effective brokerage, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of social value across TCH contracts.
• Use customer data and insight to support our Community Investment work and to help build links with sections of the community who are not currently accessing our services.
• Attend networking and best practice groups as required. Maintain awareness of relevant government legislation and sector best practice and use this to inform your work on local activities and initiatives.
• Support the Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) process, helping to develop and monitor project briefs, donation frameworks, and grant funding (when grant processes are open), that respond to social needs and include measurable milestones, outputs and outcomes, budget management, risk mitigation and procurement. Manage service level agreements and freelance contractors.
• In conjunction with colleagues ensure that all areas of service delivery are effectively monitored and evaluated via the application of impact assessments, key performance indicators, social value outcomes and value for money reporting.
• Contribute to the review and development of systems, processes, and services to support TCH’s customer experience and service improvement aspirations, including through learning from complaints and feedback, and implementing change.
• Support our 3rd sector charity partners in ways that help them meet our residents’ needs, including supporting them to understand need and priorities based on data and resident insight.
• In conjunction with your manager and the PR & Communications Team promote community investment and social value projects, and outcomes. · take ownership of a full case workload, prioritising service users’ needs while engaging sensitively, research and propose an appropriate tailored course of action, confirming in writing so as to manage the service user expectations, and agree commitments, facilitating a positive service user journey.

casework management

· work collaboratively with the support services team by providing advice with day to day cases relating to welfare benefits, as well as taking part in technical case reviews with peers in meeting caba’s quality assurance standards.

· support the service users with completing caba’s outcome and feedback survey to capture information to measure impact and improve services

· liaise with internal and external stakeholders to promote and share understanding of caba in house services, economic and social issues affecting our UK and overseas service users

· maintain up-to-date information and input accurate data into the CRM database regarding each service user case and case records for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring and report preparation.

to be successful, you’ll have:

• extensive knowledge of welfare benefits, health and social care, economic/social issues of those living inside and outside the UK
• case management and processes (advice and advocacy led support)
• person centred working – working with the person at the centre of the support
• safeguarding (adults and children), confidentiality and data protection procedures
